Christopher Columbus Condos
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 12 July 2010

My husband, my two cousins, my two children (ages 6 and 8) and I spent a week at the Christopher Columbus Condos and we were so sad to leave. Prior to our trip Lisa, the General Manager, promptly and professionally answered all of our inquiries.

We rented a 3 bedroom oceanfront unit located by the pool. Our view was spectacular-looking out onto the pool and then ocean. The unit was plenty big for 4 adults and 2 children. The units and the grounds were very clean. There were plenty of pool/beach toys and floats available for the kids to use, although we did bring some of our own as well. There was plenty of shade and chairs available for the guests. The Christopher Columbus Condos was a perfect choice for families.

The beach was somewhat rockier than I expected but we could still enter without water shoes and easily swim and float all day long, we just had to watch for the small reefs that popped up here and there.

I had read that there was a beach bar within walking distance but it was a little further than we expected (maybe a 15 minute walk on the sand). We made the walk to Tiki Beach one day and it was well worth it!

We did not rent a car while there but instead took advantage of the easy to use busses. We also took a few taxis in the evening after the busses stopped running. The Condos aren't within walking distance to Georgetown but we could head into town easily on the bus or taxi. We used the busses to get to and from the grocery stores and liquor stores as well.

Our stay at the Christopher Columbus Condos was perfect.

we recently spent a week a CC and stayed in unit #21 on the second floor overlooking the ocean. the view from their balcony is outstanding! beautiful sunsets with a glass of wine and great family time. unit #21 is beautifully decorated with island colors and great LCD TV (but who cares about TV when you have a view like this). the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. the beach was never crowded and the beach huts are great for those of us who love the beach but do not want to sit in the sun all day. we definitely recommend a trip to sunshine suites for their great burgers and fish tacos. we hope to go back very soon!! thanks to lisa and all the staff for a great vacation.

We were here a week and usually seek out low key locations that are comfortable. The CCC are ideally located on the quieter north end of SMB. It has a nice white sand beach that is not crowded. The week we were here they were about 2/3's occupied and there was no trouble getting a beach cabana or lounge chair. The snorkeling was decent. Others might categorize it as great. Our unit was tastefully furnished and adequately equipped. We rented a 3 bdrm/2bath unit. Air conditioning worked great, though I felt that it was a touich noisy at night. (I usually need total silence when I sleep). Beds were very nice, comfortable. For us, the most important gauge of a places whether or not we would come back. We would definitely come back to the Christopher Columbus

We just returned from a terrific 7 day stay at the Christopher Columbus. We stayed in unit 17...an oceanfront unit on the 2nd floor. The condo was nicely decorated, very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The service was great as well. The enitre staff couldn't have been nicer ,more helpful or more accomodating. Our unit was cleaned every day (except Sunday) and we had clean beach towels every morning. The beach was beautiful...white sandy beach with crystal clear water. Plenty of chairs and shady spots for all. The kids loved the pool as well and could easily go back and forth between the beach and the pool. We met many friendly guests (many of whom had been there several times before) and the kids enjoyed playing with the other kids at the resort. It was such a terrific trip for entire family that we have already booked to go back again next year!

Our first visit to Grand Cayman, and we found the Christopher Columbus based on the many positive reviews. They were all correct. The complex is clean, welcoming, family-oriented and everyone was incredibly friendly. We stayed in unit #23 - a quiet corner unit with 2 bedrooms and a den. Plenty of space for our family with two children (ages 6 and 8). Condo was fully stocked with appliances, nicely decorated, and very comfortable for all of us. Beautiful view off the balcony to the water. Plenty of beach chairs and shade to be found on the beach each day, and the pool has a bin of water toys for group use. Amazing snorkeling right off the beach, especially for younger kids just learning to snorkel. All around a terrific find - we'll hope to be back again!

Traveled to Grand Cayman for a week to bring in the New Year with my niece Olivia 14 and my nephew Matt 18 and decided to stay at the CC condos in unit #1. The owner, Melinda, is very sweet and couldn't have been more helpful in arranging everything. Once we got there we were really happy with the condo. The 2 bdrm unit gave us plenty of room to spread out and was perfect for the kids. The beaches and pool are really beautiful and so convenient. I've traveled a bit in Mexico and to several caribbean islands but had always gotten a hotel but this was so much more comfortable, especially with teens. The condo is beautifully decorated and having a nice full kitchen allowed us to have breakfasts and lunches there and most dinners out. I would recommend Sunshine Grill and Cracked Conch for some great meals. We stocked up on groceries just down the road at Fosters and that saved us a good deal. For snorkeling we really liked Cemetary Beach just a few hundred yards down the beach, the wreck at the South Sound, and the reefs near the Cracked Conch---all were outstanding. My niece loved swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove and my nephew had an amazing experience finishing up his SCUBA certification with the guys at Off the Wall Divers...we all had a blast and would highly recommend CC condos and Grand Cayman to anyone...
