My wife and I just returned from 8 days at The Harbour View Apts. in Grand Cayman.
This property is well maintained, clean, and has grate location right on the beach.
We stayed in a studio with a queen bed, frig, microwave, two burner stove, toaster, blender, coffee maker, cable TV. The room was plenty big for the two. No problems whatsoever.
The best things: small pier to jump into water, watch and feed fish; view on cruise ships and sunset; nice owners.

What a great place, rooms were clean, staff friendly, even the neighborhood stray cat was a friend! The little private beach was nice, and the weber grills made bbq's easy. Very convenient, and a great bargain, I'd definitely go back.

stayed here for 3 nights. This is not your typical hotel set up, it has more of a guesthouse feel to it. Check in was basically an informal greeting, nothing to sign etc just a short greeting from the owner. This place is a bargain for grand cayman, the biggest bonus being the market across the road which allowed for not allowing your budget to blow out on the very expensive eateries in grand cayman. Rooms are more basic without being luxurious, but for the price there is little to complain about. would say that this is without a doubt one of the few cheap options in grand cayman.

We found this place in the Lonely Planet Guidebook and were extremely satsified. This place is a gem in every way. The price was right ($165 for a full apartment with an ocean view) and the location perfect. It is a few blocks off Seven Mile Beach so you don't pay the beach price, but they have a perfect little private beach with a few palms to provide shade and lots of chairs to watch the cruise ships arrive in the harbor. The snorkeling off the end of the dock and a few hundred yards to the south was spectacular. We called to let the owners know that we would not arrive until 11:00 pm and were worried that there would be nowhere to buy food. When we arrived, Dunlin and Rose, the lovely owners, had filled the refrigerator with fruit, milk, and other snacks -- all at no cost to us. Kacy's, a huge, well stocked grocery store, is just a few blocks away so you can walk there and buy a full, hot meal to bring back to eat in the quiet and privacy of your own deck. We would not hesitate to return. We also went to Stingray City with Soto Adventures (owned by their daughter and son-in-law) which was a fun trip, albeit filled with tourists. The guide was informative and accommodating. Do NOT go when there are more than 2 cruise ships in port.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Harbour View Apartments. After extensive research, we chose this property to stray away from the often stressful and over-priced large hotel chains and mega-resorts. We were not disappointed. Habour View has a great location - a few miles from the airport, walking distance to downtown Georgetown, an international food store across the street (Kirks), a great restaurant next door (The Wharf) and best of all, a small, clean private beach right out your apartment door, complete with chairs, shade, and incredible snorkeling right off the dock.

The studio was not fancy but was clean, comfortable and had the option of ocean breezes or a very efficient A/C unit. The water pressure in the shower was perfect (there is only a shower, no bathtub) and the linens were clean and soft.

The kitchen in the studio is very basic but functional. Two things we did not have was a cutting board and wine glasses. We had some wonderful dining out experiences but some of our best nights were spent purchasing fresh fish, seafood, and/or steaks at Kirks and using one of the many Weber grills provided to grill some yummy and cost-saving beachfront dinners.

Harbour View was at full capacity the entire time of our stay, but you would never know it. It is quiet and very relaxed at all hours with the exception of an absurd amount of cruise ships coming in and out of the harbor several days a week.

We would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a value-based, relaxing vacation and to people who enjoy snorkeling. If you are looking for a hotel that requires you to get up at 6am to reserve a pool chair, or ride up and down an elevator all day, or have a noisy bar, or have average food at inflated prices then look elsewhere. We are glad we didn't and we will spend the money we saved by staying at Habour View to book another vacation!
