Recently stayed at this resort on the Beach side for 6 days and 5 nights. This hotel in a word - Fantastic - From the minute you arrive at the airport - take the $89 Luxury SVU (request Nelson - he was awesome and a wealth of knowledge on the way to the resort) you will be bathed in Customer Service like no other resort or hotel can deliver. Everyone is made to feel like a VIP. Each and every employee goes out of their way to acknowledge you by name and will stop whatever they are doing to lend a hand or answer a question (definitely trained the Disney Way - which is what Ritz did in hiring Disney Consultants to improve the overall customer experience) This is an extremely high end resort in every way. You get what you paid for and beyond. If you want a value vacation go to the Jersey shore. If you have the means by in large this is the place to stay. All the meals were fantastic at the resort, especially Bar Jack. For breakfast or lunch try Eats cafe (next door to the Ritz) Best pancake breakfast you will ever have (by the way the Ritz head chefs made a visit to eats to discover the secret of their fabulous pancake recipe! - true story) If you venture down into George Town try la Dolce Vita - Absolutely some of the best Italian food you will ever have - Service is fabulous (every employee is from Italy) and all the food is made to order, fresh pasta and fish. The view from the outdoor seating makes you feel like you are in Italy. Finally the Spa/Fitness Center at the Ritz was worth the $45 resort fee. To notch equipment and amenities. Spa, Steam Room, Sauna, Massage, Robes, Towels, Showers, Slippers. You will not want to leave the Spa! The Blue Tip Golf course is impeccable. You can rent clubs, Top Notch Titleist clubs and a very hard course due to the winds and tight dimensions. Will be going back in the near future. Ask for the upgrade and request a beach front room, the view in the morning and evening is fabulous.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade Beach Front - well worth it for the view!

Let me start out by saying this is a beautiful property.
With that said you will over pay by at least 40% for everything.
My suggestion would be if you want to stay here plan on bringing
your own drinks and eat off property for every meal.
80.00 for breakfast, 120.00 for lunch and our dinner in the
Blue restaurant came to 386.00. I believe in enjoying the property
you stay at but this place was way out of line.

This resort was fantastic! They really went the extra mile for their guests and thought of every detail. The rooms were spacious and up to the Ritz standard, the facilities were gorgeous, and the staff really went above and beyond. We traveled with an infant and they not only provided a crib with adorable linens but also gave us an infant care package with a night light, outlet covers, band aids, a thermometer, wipes, baby lotion and shampoo. They also gave us a beautiful melamine set of baby dishes - a sippy cup, a bowl and dish. The beach area was gorgeous and we were able to sit in front of the water every day. They provided free swim diapers and most of the water activities were free. I snorkeled and stand up paddled and it was great! All of the staff was so courteous and thoughtful that it really made our stay so pleasant. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try restaurants because our baby would get fussy at night but the breakfast at 7 was delicious. I don't have enough time to list all of the wonderful things about this location and I am so glad we paid a little extra to stay here

We have been to a lot of hotels in the caribbean and found variable standards of customer service ranging from indifference to over zealous. Sometimes within the same hotel. This was not the case with the RItz. Everyone was very helpful, courteous, and friendly..... all the time. All of the staff with the high tech communication systems were aware and ready for you as you move through the property and most knew us by name. Enought of that.

This is a gorgeous property. We stayed ocean front , which is really pool front with a view of the ocean. Nice bed, amentities balcony with two comfortable chairs and a great view of the seven mile beach and the sunset. There were always enough beach chairs and help to set one up. Same for the pool, but it seemed there were not enough umbrellas, but then I didn't ask for one. Bands of roving servers from BarJack, eager to serve you expensive but tasty drinks. I spent a lot of time sitting in the bay in the "aqua lounger" a table and four chairs floating in 4 ft of beautiful blue water. the servers will bring you iced buckets of beer to the waterside, so that you don't have to travel all the way to the bar for a refill.

Good snorkeling just off the south corner of the swim area and mid way across the swim area about 200 yds out near some pipes. a more shallow, highly populated reef is in front of the Governors house, a 3-5 minute stroll north, approximately 400 yds offshore. a $45/day resort fee includes complimentary snorkel gear, kayaks, paddle boards, internet, water, chairs, towels, etc. Gratuities are added to all checks, but the service qualified the 15%.

Speaking of restaurants, we tried Takiun and Blue. Both were excellent. The Blue tasting menu is expensive, but phenomonal. Ripert's input is unmistakable. And they serve several of the dishes from his NYC flagship (Le Bernardin).

Room Tip: Ocean Front Rooms x20-x24 where x is 6,7,or 8 are all excellent. Elevators at x17 and ice machines...

My wife, 4 year old son, and I spent 5 nights at the Ritz. Our first trip to the Caymans, and our first trip to the Caribbean as well. Could not have been more pleased! The resort itself is beautiful, and the staff is absolutely the best we have ever encountered. Everyone from the housekeepers, to the wait staff, to the front desk goes out of their way to ensure you have what you need and feel cared for. Our package included a daily breakfast buffet (amazing selection including waffles made to order and smoked fish options) and a daily US $100 resort credit good for food or other sundries anywhere on property. With food being free in most onsite restaurants for children under 5, we found that (with only a little planning) my wife and I were able to eat and drink with nothing additional out of pocket. (Note: In the interest of full disclosure, we eat lighter than most, and typically shared an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Servings are quite generous.) We did not need to venture offsite except for a day trip to Georgetown (which we found a bit too touristy), and a couple of trips to the nearby grocery store (IGA). The grocery is a short walk from the resort, and has extremely reasonable prices. The only (very) minor low point of our stay was having to witness a fellow guest in the throes of a conniption fit due to an imagined slight in service by one of the waitstaff at Bar Jack. You have to love the irony of a grown woman having a full-blown tantrum because a well-meaning waitress had the audacity to serve kids' meals to 2 nearby toddlers before the woman was brought her own food (which she rightfully should have received before the toddlers, I suppose). She has promised to write a letter to "headquarters". That should be a doozy!

Room Tip: The complaints about the "Resort Side" rooms (where the lobby is) being too far from the...

My (now) husband and I were married at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman over Memorial Day weekend and could not have been happier with our decision to be married at this resort. As another reviewer stated, we did not have the best weather during our stay but still had an amazing experience at the resort. Overall, our wedding planner, Elena, did an excellent job - though there were a few glitches (nothing major). The resort itself is immaculate and the beach is one of the best that we have ever seen. The extra amenities provided at the beach (i.e., paddle boards, water tricycles, kayaks, floating beds) along with the plush lounge chairs with individual sun shades really took it over the top. The rooms are spacious and while the decor is not my taste it fits with the Caribbean vibe.

The best part of the resort is the staff. They go out of their way to make sure that every guest feels special and is taken care of. We were so impressed by how many staff remembered our names and that we had just been married. I visited the spa on the day of the wedding and was extremely impressed by the design and the staff - Julia gave me an amazing manicure. We also hosted our wedding dinner at Blue by Eric Ripert and had an excellent experience there. Kristian Netis, the sommelier, really went out of his way to make it special, including teaching me how to use a champagne sabre to open the bottle for the toast!

As other reviewers have also stated, the resort (and whole island, actually) is pricey. Its not a place to stay for those who are concerned about drink and food prices. We definitely felt our experience at the resort was well worth the money and hope to be back for an anniversary!

This is a lovely property - the grounds, rooms, public spaces and the beach!
I have never seen more lovely water - it is really gin clear.
The Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment is just incredible. We went on a great night snorkel with them.
