“Absolutely gorgeous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

I have travelled so much but I was blown away but this beautiful resort. It is just breathtaking and the swimming was fabulous. We were there for four nights and the experience was flawless. We snorkeled just down the beach and we saw the most amazing fish! I just love GC and we had lots of nice meals in town and within walking distance. We found the hotel restaurant to be expensive but did love the buffet breakfast one day...though it was expensive. We loved the little snack bar for our morning coffee and snacks. The prices were fairly "normal". I just want to convey that this was likely the most positive experience I have ever had on a holiday. There always seems to be some sort of drama or mishap on every vacation but this place is just too polished for anything to really go wrong. My husband and I own a business and get very tired and stressed. This was a perfect mini-vacation to unwind, swim and have some nice meals out in a sunny place. Perfect.

after a wonderful cruise on Oceania' Regatta, on the Ultimate Panama Canal Cruise; my wifw and I had to disembark at the Grand Caymans. We were very fortunate to stay one night at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman.
It was a wonderful stay with great service on the beach, great diner at the Japanese restaurant and a beautiful new room

The grounds and rooms are clean and well maintained and staff greets you warmly. Our room was quiet and everyone slept well. Small fitness area. The pool is fine, but extremely small in comparison to other Ritz hotels. Pool security would not allow my children to jump into the pool...I understand diving...but jumping? Service was spotty at both beach and pool. The first day by the pool, our lunch took at least 45 minutes to arrive (2 kids meals and one appetizer) and our drinks arrived at the same time. Other days we were served more quickly. Our housekeeper was attentive and met our requests. We consistently felt there was little for our pre-teen kids to do. There may have been options, but no one made an attempt to share or even provide literature about what was available. We felt we had to ask a lot which meant a trip into the guest services instead of beach time. We did stumble across a kid's lounge, but it closed after 2 nights to accommodate a private group. Bummer for our kids. A recent stay at the Ritz in Laguna was different with staff offering the kids activities. Perhaps a better check-in service with literature or conversations about the options on property would help this? I believe this property is better for little kids (who eat free) or for adults. Back to Hawaii next year and the Grand Wailea--much better fit for our demographics.

This is a beautiful hotel and the staff go out of their way to do anything for you. Our room was a Gardenview/Pool. The room is beautiful and extremely clean. However, the hotel is very big and has two sides. Our room was not on the beach side, so you must walk across an attached walkway to get to the more livelier pool and to the beach. It just seemed like a lot to get to where you wanted to be. The food is good. Overall it's a nice hotel, but I think there are better hotels to stay in when going to Grand Cayman.

Room Tip: Get a room on the beach side.

Dear nychick819,
I am excited to share your compliments about our Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you! Your comments about our Resort Tower and Ocean Tower are valuable feedback. Enhancements to our Resort Tower, including our new interactive water feature, are designed to enliven this area and offer our guests just as much excitement as our beautiful beach and ocean pool. I look forward to sharing these experiences with you upon your next visit to Grand Cayman.

we had a great time here. We stayed in a villa on the exclusive resorts side. The beach front was great and we loved bar jack the food was great. Tyler and Boris at bar jack were great as well as Tyler from Georgia down at the water equipment place.

Had an amazing trip here at the end of February. The staff, the grounds, food everything was wonderful. I can't say enough about the staff. Everyone greets you pleasantly day or night, which is something that sadly is rare these days. We had a resort side room which we didn't mind since we had closer access to the quieter pool by Periwinkle.
Loved walking thru the resort to the pool/beach. I also really appreciated little things like the fruit infused waters all over every day. We had an awards dinner with steak and lobster and every single person I talked to said it was the best lobster they had ever had(butter poached-yum!). Plus every person said their food was hot when they received it. Not something that is easy to accomplish for 300-400 people. As I mentioned above, I just cannot praise this hotel enough! Can't wait to return!!!

Purpose of travel was a warm destination with a nice beach using rewards points. Cayman Airport is about a $25/15 minute taxi ride to the hotel. Hotel is very large--Ocean view is the building on the beach while Garden View is the building across the street. The 2 buildings are attached by walkway.

Hotel is nicest Marriott/Ritz so far in the Caribbean (vs Aruba, St Thomas, San Juan, Cancun, St Kitts). Although my favorite Marriott beach is still St Kitts, this Ritz beach is wide & wasn't ever crowded (there are many chairs which take up a lot of space, but they were never all occupied). Ocean was very calm, like a lake. Although 1 day was very, very rough but the staff confirmed that was very unusual. If you want a front row beach chair, you need to be at beach by 7:45'ish. We were fine with the 2nd row.

I walked down to the Marriott, also on 7 Mile Beach, about 1-2 miles down. There must have been some beach erosion as that Marriott beach seemed really tight. It was not nearly as wide as the Ritz beach & I'm glad we didn't chose the Marriott.

Service at the RItz was all that you'd expect. Everyone was very pleasant & accommodating. Pool, chairs, drinks, etc were all nice.

Yes, the Ritz is overpriced (salad w/grilled shrimp at poolside w/tip etc was about $30). But, the hotel & beach were lovely.

Room Tip: Try to get an Ocean view room, much closer to the beach.
