We had a great stay at Plantation Village. Four friends and I traveled down for a birthday celebration and it was so affordable we still can't believe it. The location is great - you can walk to the grocery store (if it's not too hot) and to several restaurants so we didn't rent a car and hardly used taxis.
It's right at the beginning of the nice part of the beach so you can get in to the water where it's not rocky. There are free kayaks and a place to rent snorkel gear just next door so you can see the reef which is right in front of the hotel. The water is calm and teal and just wonderful. The Marriott is only two hotels down - the beach is the same but it's much more crowded and expensive over there. (But do go down there to catch the free shuttle to the Turtle Farm - a must see!)
We loved this place and would definitely stay again if we returned to the Caymans.

We liked renting this condo as it has a great spot on 7 Mile Beach and the unit itself is a quick minute walk from the beach. The until wasn't terribly clean (like hair on the floor from a previous traveler) but was in nice shape. We loved being able to use bikes and sea kayaks. We rode bikes to the grocery store (about 4 minutes) to get breakfast and lunch supplies, which really helped keep our overall food costs lower.
