“A comfortable cosy cottage in another world :-)”

We took our 3 children and 2 dogs away for half term. We did not expect amazing weather in Wales in Feb, but we did not expect storm Doris either! Regardless, the cottage is so cosy and warm, and the walls were so thick, we would not have known there was a storm going on outside if we did not have the blinds open! This is truly my dream cottage, it has everything you could need. Spacious comfortable bedrooms ( the king bed was sooo comfy!), a lovely front room with that all important wood burner, and a fully equipted kitchen. The washing machine was a godsend to clean muddy towels from our dog walks and the dishwasher a touch of luxury that was not expected.

We will definatley be booking again, next time maybe we will get some sunshine!!

Thank you for your review and please do come back at a less stormy time. We find that sitting in the garden with the "world beneath your feet" is a truly calming experience.

What an amazing place.
Lovely house, remember it is old so not perfect!! Very clean and easy to find.
Never stayed anywhere with such fabulous views.
It feels so remote yet is near to the A494.
Great wildlife right outside the door and the wild flowers were beautiful.
Just one thing though the track is quite bumpy and speep in places, glad we had our Land Rover!
We will be back soon.

Thank you. We agree that a summer evening in the garden with mountains all around does make the place rather special. We'll be starting some 'renewal' in the early autumn, so do come back to see what we've done!

“An idyllic cottage in a delightful area”

I found the cottage to be absolutely charming, perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay. We instantly felt at home and especially loved a roaring fire in the evening and waking up to the stunning views across the valley and lake.

In a wonderful tranquil setting accessed via an off-road track, we truly felt away from it all. The surrounding area has an amazing amount to offer with lovely beaches, lakes, endless miles of walking trails and mountain bike routes on the doorstep or a short drive away.

Highlights of our stay were the trips to Zip World, Portmeirion and Lake Vrynwy, along with a beautiful walk to The Eagles Inn and chats with the local farmer on sheep sheering duty.

A real bonus was discovering the herb rockery outside the back door, which really topped off our evening meals!

Thank you for your kind review. We try to make the cottage a 'home from home', and we'll be continuing to add both herbs and flowers to the garden.

“Comfortable, spacious accommodation with all the mod cons”

Our family had a really pleasant stay in this lovely cottage. Apart from being spacious, it has a very well-equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher and washing machine and reliable wi-fi. The only slight downside we found, for people with children who need the toilet in the night, is that the bathroom is downstairs.

The surrounding area is beautiful and an easy drive to Bala, Lake Vernwy, Pistyll Rhaedr, Portmeirion etc when you have had enough of exploring the local pathways.

The owners were a pleasure to deal with - very responsive to our questions before our arrival and were even kind enough to provide us with a complimentary bottle of wine as a welcome!

“Wonderful cottage, great location”

Had a lovely relaxing week in Llechwedd Fwyalchen cottage. Fed the log burner with branches found on our wanders, but cottage was perfectly warm throughout. Generous bath, cottage comfortable throughout, well equipped ( discovered the log burner proves bread brilliantly). Visited Castell y bere and the brilliant cafe nearby. Rambled, mooches bout, enjoyed each other's company and had a lovely quiet time. Bala was very friendly, Dolgellau many interesting shops. There are farm buildings a wee way from with cottage qnd a slightly bobbly drive but not intrusive in the slightest, lovely to be surrounded by fields with occasional sheep and the very first lambs. Wholeheartedly recommend.

We're pleased you found it peaceful, and with the neighbours some distance away, we don't think they would notice if you wanted to wash yourselves in loud music from time to time. We'll be wanting to get up there ourselves soon to see the new season's lambs, and ensure that the place is ready for others to enjoy.

“Heaven in the mountains”

My wife and daughter call it the best holiday ever. Even Grizzly loved it and has taken to us more after a fantastic week in the mountains. The cottage is ideally located and has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. The owners are so helpful and give valuable advice on the local dos and donts.

If you looking for a perfect getaway than I would truly recommend this place. People are very friendly and helpful. The caretaker went out of their way, drove up to us and gave us firewood when we ran out.

The cottage has lot of character and the photos do not do justice to the interiors.

Thank you for your review. Visitor comments help us to make Llechwedd Fwyalchen a really great place to stay.

To ensure that cosy glow of a real fire on top of the central heating system we will try to supply a list of local places and times that guests can buy more firewood.

We hope that you will return to the area during other seasons of the year.

We're delighted that you enjoyed our spacious cottage, where the word "cosy" perhaps best describes the ability of the heating system to keep it 'toasty warm' when it's rather autumnal outside. The glow of the log fire is a bonus. You'll find the tranquillity of the house a joy during all seasons, so please try it again for a spring or summer break.
