If you like liesurely diving, the all-inclusive Pirates Point Resort on Little Cayman Island is the the place to go. They have a large modern dive boat that will easily handle around 18 divers. The boat leaves the dock every day around 9:30 and after two one-hour dives returns for a delicious full course lunch. Cocktail hour starts around the bar at 6:30 with appetizers followed by a grand dinner and dessert.
Pirates point has a full staff with six outstanding divemasters. The resort has only 10 units so the place is never crowded and friends are easily made.
They also have a beautiful fresh water pool and an excellent place to snorkel.
There is usually a dominoes game after dinner and if you don't know how to play there is always someone ready and willing to teach you.
The owner, Gladys Howard, is a real sweet heart and worth the trip just to meet her.
We have been to Pirates Point many times and have always had a great time!

Little Cayman has some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean and Pirates Point
Resort is THE place to stay on the island. The food at the resort is unmatched on the island and the cottages are quaint and lovely. The staff meets every need. And the dive operation is terrific. If a scuba diver wants help, the staff is on it. But if you're an experienced diver they don't hover and annoy you. And their boat "Yellow Rose" is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to dive off of. The head works, the boat has plenty of room, with a great flying bridge, and it even smells good. Many dive boats are scows, but Yellow Rose is a gem. If you want a true island getaway, with great diving and food and no crowds, book Pirates Point Resort.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at Pirates Point. We went w/ another couple who are our best friends and diving buddies!

In the Caribbean, this the one place I would return to:
The Diving:
- Healthy conditions, no run off from a large "people" population nearby.
- Bloody Bay Wall - enough said.
- Great diving even if you're not going to THE wall.
- Great opportunity to spot the more unusual critters like the Pipe Horse or Pipe Fish
- Personal dive profiles. If you're a new diver, you'll get lots of help. If you're a seasoned diver, they'll treat you like a grown-up.

So the diving off of Little Cayman is great, why choose Pirates Point?
- The food is better than the best restaurants in the Grand Cayman. Seriously - they bake fresh bread and desert for every lunch and dinner! You can diet before and after the trip, but you WILL eat during your vacation. If you have to stay at a more budget place, then treat yourself and make a reservation for dinner here a couple nights while you're on the island!
- The people who decide to stay here are often (like around 80%) repeat guests. If you want to get away for a private, romantic week with your partner, you can do that. You can also easily meet new friends. We met some great people in our week there.
- The staff will do all they can to give you a great vacation. We took the first flight in from Grand Cayman, and they were able to hold the boat for us so we can dive on our first day. My dive computer's battery was dying, and they replaced it. My birthday was during the week, and that dinner was a real celebration made possible by all the guests and staff. The chef made lunch early on our last day, so that we wouldn't have to choke down crappy airport food-like substance.
- The relaxed pace was perfect. I love diving. And I hate having to wake up at the crack of dawn to make the dive boat. Here, breakfast is at 8am, and the diving starts at the luxurious time of 9am.
- The location is great b/c there's great shallow snorkeling in front of the resort. You can see TONS of juveniles. We also saw lobster, scorpion fish, eels, banded jawfish, even an eagle ray and a swimming nurse shark while SNORKELING in front of the resort! One of the dive masters, Gay, even took us out snorkeling one afternoon pointing out critters we might have missed.

So go to Little Cayman and stay at Pirates Point!

My wife, her sister and I spent 6 nights at Pirates Point Resort in February 2010. The location and staff were incredible. They promptly answered all our emails.

We were greeted warmly and introduced to the staff and other guests, and treated to the first of many outstanding meals. We ate with Gladys, the owner. She is a very gregarious Texan with many amazing stories.

The dive masters were very helpful and friendly. We were able to see many rays, groupers and huge lobsters.

There is great snorkeling right in front of the resort.

Jeff, the chef, prepares world class food every meal. We were treated to seafood, steak and chicken all seasoned perfectly and displayed like works of art.

The staff genuinely cares about every detail of your trip. The dive masters double as wait staff for the meals. It is so great to be able to talk with them about the days diving at the meals.

All the other guests were repeat visitors.

We rented a car one day and went to the east end of the Island with friends we met at the resort. The snorkeling and camaraderie was great.

Pirates point provides free bicycles. We rode to the east end of the island to watch the weekly supply ship come in and stopped at a couple of water fowl viewing stations.

There is not much to do on Little Cayman but dive, eat and relax, just what we wanted.

W heard about Pirates Point from a local dive shop here in NH. Even tho we are not divers it sounded like a great place to relax . We both agreed this was the best vacation ever and that includes a lot of Island trips. What makes the Point so special is that it is like a quality NE Bed and Bath only it happens to be on Little Caymen Island. The staff is wonderful, the food beyond superb and the island a great place to relax, snorkel, bike ride and fish. We are already working on dates for next year. Feel free to contact us if you wish. Five Stars all the way!!!!!!!

We were booked on recommendations of friends and really could not of been happier. EVERYONE works so smoothly and with a dedication that is rare to see these days. We stayed down the road and ate at a couple of other places prior to settling at PP and nothing really compares. We did a resort course dive and LOVED it. Everyone from Martha to Mike to Gay to Ed to John to Jeff and Diane in the kitchen and, of course, Gladys Howard, all made us feel so at home, really at home, like a home. Other guests were all multi year repeat visitors. I've been around and nothing really felt as nice or real. I am shocked that it is rated 4th given it's first rate service, warmth and friendliness. The total package makes it great and the food is simply the best you will find on Little Cayman. Worth booking and staying, 4 sure. Like I said, Best EVAH!
