“Heart warming”

It is great to see that there were so many people that made an impact of what the Brac is today. Many of the names on the wall are family

“A great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2012

Unfortunately, full enjoyment of this dive was impacted by a divebuddy who claimed experience, but appeared to be inexperienced and tentative, got separated from others, and then got seasick. Anyway, the steep wall has falls of sand, basket and red finger sponges, and a variety of hard and soft corals. Marine life was plentiful, and visibility was good.

Fauna and Flora:

There are plenty of angel fish and butterfly fish on this site.

“Cemetery Wall Tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2009

See the video tour at www.youtube.com/user/frigate356

This is a recommended dive if you're in the Brac.

My favorite route is to first head out to the wall along the sandy shoot which you can take directly out from the mooring. Along the shoot, there are lots of beautiful coral and sponge growth. Lots of cool small fish darting in and out here. Plenty of overhangs to explore under. The shoot tightens and steepens as you approach the wall creating an impressive visual. Sea Turtles and larger reef fish start to appear as you get closer to the wall and the formations become more exotic. The shoot puts you over the wall at about 100'. Turn right and follow the wall for about 50 yards or more between 90-120'. As you can see in the video, it is truly majestic along there and tons to explore up close. Careful not to touch anything. Expect to see the beautiful Queen Angelfishes that patrol along this part of the wall (seems appropriate for "Cemetery Wall"). Barracuda like to sneak up from the depths to check you out too. Very cool. Typically your NDL will run low and you'll have to head back up a lot sooner than you expect or want. (Nitrox will give you some extra time here). Work your way back up to the top of the wall at this point and you will find a densely populated area of coral and sponges. There is a very cool and busy cleaning station where I typically come up. If you find it, take a good viewing position close to it and just observe motionlessly for 5 minutes - there is often a line of tangs, parrotfish, etc.. waiting their turn to get pecked clean by a bevy of little yellow wrasses. I'm sure grouper, turtles and other larger guys swing by every now and then. Quite entertaining. Explore the whole plateau here. Lots of cool fish like trunkfish, puffers, etc.. hiding amongst the growth here. If you work your way SouthEas you'll be back to the mooring where you started. If you have extra gas and NDL time left, lots to explore at the 55'-65' level. During this dive, regularly scan out into the blue - occasionally large fish and sharks make a fleeting appearance. Be safe - enjoy the dive. *** Call Craig Burhart at Indepth Watersports to see when he's going out there next. - Mark
