As a lover if history, I thoroughly enjoyed Brimstone. Starting with the narrow archways that only give the vehicles 6 inches clearance to enter. When you arrive you can sit in an air conditioned room and watch a short film about the fort. I recommend waiting until you are done exploring so you can cool off. You are really transported back in time. I suggest walking down by the cemetery for perfect photo opportunities.

This was the second stop on my St Kitts Shore Excursion with Royal Caribbean. The drive was about 25 minutes from the ship. It's about 800 feet above sea level. The views of the mountains are breathtaking. This is a must see if you visit St Kitts.

Just walking up the sloping steps to the entrance is hard work. Look down and look at the size of those rock blocks they had to carry them all the way up here, manually. How did they do it? Man, the work that had to be done. I think that the fort was built by the plantation owners, bearing in mind that this island was the richest source of sugar, any where in the world, during the 17th and 18th century. So money was no object. The same sugar money that built Bristol in the UK. Well at least until Napoleon came along and encouraged production of sugar beet as an alternative which was the death toll for the sugar cane industry. Back to the fort, it's steeped in History and it is really well preserved, its a world heritage site and if your in St Kitts for any amount of time its well worth the visit. Buy a beer from the cafe by the car park and take in the views and wonder how many people died building this place. Its amazing.

Loved every single minute! The restoration crew has done an awesome job. Best pictures were taken here of the entire trip. No wonder it is UNESCO Heritage Site. AMAZING. Worth the price of admission. The best part of the whole St.Kitts trip.

Worth spending a few hours high above the island of St. Kitts. You can see the mountains behind you, the ocean in front of you, and lots of great buildings and views from everywhere. There is a lot of history here, cannons everywhere, and did I mention the great views? Drive up a steep road and through the arch, park and enjoy!
