To start, we found Rose and Jim's after reading prior reviews on Trip Advisor. We were on the Celebrity cruise ship and arrived on the island on January 6, 2014. I previously booked Rose & Jim's via the web, and Jim was waiting for us exactly where he said he would be. While waiting he told us to avoid all the men standing at the cruise ship pier with baby monkees. He told us they would quote you one price for a photo of you with them, then after the picture jack up the price, so we did not get a picture. At the end of our trip while having a cold beverage before re-boarding the ship, we actually saw this take place right in front of us! Stay away from the monkey men!! Jim drove us all over the island. He even showed us the home he was born in on the way through the rain forest to Romney Manor, where we met his lovely wife Rose who was with another group. Both of their vans are newer and were very clean! We then went to the southeast peninsula where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea. You can actually see the waves breaking towards the shore in both directions. We also saw the black rock formations along the beaches from the extinct volcano's on the island. Our journey continued on to the Brimstone Hill Fortress, where the is a $10.00 per person entry fee, but well worth it. This was explained to me in advance so it was not a last minute surprise charge. Our journey ended with a relaxing stop at Cockleshell Beach, which was free of charge and beautiful. Jim then dropped us off back at the ship, and a very nice inexpensive day on the island was completed. Jim is a native to the island and a great tour guide. I think anyone looking for a nice way to experience the island from a locals point of view could not go wrong hiring Rose & Jim's taxi Service. You can contact then at either their website www.roseandjimstaxi.com or via email at email@example.com.
