“Beautiful anchorage, quiet beach, bike rentals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2011

Sailed St. Marten to Eustacia (first country to recognize USA in November, 1776 which led to Dutch - England war) to St Kitts to Nevis. Oualie Beach is most protected bay on Nevis. Nice anchorage. Rented mountain bike from Winston for $25. Visited Four Seasons (rumor is bikes not allowed to visit during high season) which is a must stop for it's extreme refinement and beauty. 3.5 hours to ride around island including 1500 elevation gain and descent. Delicious lunch at beautiful Golden Rock at 60% point of ride. Then quiet, beautiful ride on back side of island including riding through a herd of goats. Bike ride is wonderful exercise and beauitful way to see island especially beauitful back side of Nevis. After ride, my wife enjoyed massage at Oualie Beach.

“A barefoot, unspoilt and tranquil place to be”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2011

After our 12 hour journey, this was just the tonic we needed. It is FILLED with palm trees and all the houses are trimmed with a cheery shade of blue (which is a disadvantage too for I got lost on the way to the room). The staff are not overly friendly excepting a few like Stacey (who is black belt karate!) . They don't seem to enjoy their job, as when a tarpaulin fell down a waitress shouted at a Gardner to pick it up and he grumpily said: “You want me to do everything, eh?”
There are swinging hammocks overlooking the sea, which is VERY warm so bring LOTS of swim suits. The food is not that great and a bit expensive so I would recommend eating somewhere else as the location is good with lots of shops. It is beautiful too and watch out for funny signs like Monkeys Crossing and Swale Ahead. Have fun if you choose this hotel!

“Worth a try...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2011

Oualie beach, together with Nisbet and Pinney, is the best beach in Nevis. Unfortunately, that is not saying much, since beaches in Nevis are not extremely nice and instead of the pearly white sand common in other destination (like Antigua), the colour of Oualie beach (as well as the others) can be described as brown-grayish and it is also quite narrow. I went to this beach for four days in a row and I was surprised to see that it is frequented by very few tourists, but again even Nisbet and Pinney were far from crowded.

“Calm water, nice wind for windsurfing, pretty beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2011

A few hours at Oualie Beach is recommended. Sunsets are incredible from here! Continue down the road towards the airport and stop at Lover's Beach. This is down a dirt road at the bend. Bring a bottle of wine and some fruit and bread for a nice snack.

Oualie Beach is perfect for children, too, as the water is calm....probably the best beach on the island if you have little ones.
