Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies
Ranked #1 of 3 Hotels in Charlestown
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 22 January 2013

The Four Seasons is a large and lovely resort on the island of Nevis. The only two negatives are that Nevis is rather difficult to get to and the resort is pricey, otherwise this Four Seasons' experience is superb.

The golf course is beautiful with spectacular views. The Four Seasons décor and outdoor landscapes are breathtaking. The Nevisians who staff the Four Seasons are exceptionally friendly and helpful (as well as beautiful). The Four Seasons has a spa, tennis courts, pools and every imaginable water toy (kayaks, sailboats, catamarans) available for their guests.

A trip to Nevis and a stay at the Four Seasons is a unique and wonderful experience. The temperatures stay constant and the trade winds are always blowing. I would suggest doing more than just staying on the resort as Nevis has sugar plantation ruins, picturesque “villages” and other unique dinning venues. Staying at the Four Seasons will provide you with a first class beach, pool, spa and golfing vacation and visiting the island of Nevis will give you a greater appreciation and understanding of the history, topography and life in the West Indies.

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons Nevis this past summer, and it was a perfect vacation. The entire resort is five star quality from the accommadations to the service to the dining. One day we rented the private beach cabanas which were wonderful. Our attendant was attentive and gracious. She treated us to special drinks and snacks. The whole trip was perfect in every detail.

Stayed in musty smelling room, with tired furniture for over $700 per night. With three people in room they did not open hide-a-bed in the evening until we called. Third night we opened it ourselves. Charged for more than one device on Internet....ridiculous. Return ferry to mainline was a private owners small powerboat on which all got wet. This was used even when the regular ferry was delayed because of "rough water" which actually meant they reserved it for a group of BMW guests. This is after we paid $130 each for our three guests for transportation. All in all, a real disappointment. Will never return or recommend. Staff was wonderful, as well as food.

We recently spent five utterly relaxing days and nights at the Four Seasons Nevis and had a wonderful stay. On the whole, the service was great -- from the moment you walk off the private ferry and walked directly to your room the staff is willing to work to ensure you have a great experience. Service at the pool and beach was 5-star quality, and the bartenders all had good tips on places to go and things to do on the island (although there isn't much to do). My only knock on the property is the wait staff, who varied between disinterested and distracted for most of the meals -- it seemed strange since everyone else was so helpful, but I chalk that up to a cultural thing, as we had a similar experience at most of the meals we had away from the resort as well.

The room was clean and nice, although nothing terribly unique. We had an ocean view room -- if you get an ocean view room, be sure to get on the second floor if you actually want to see the ocean, and ask to be in one of the buildings towards the adult pool. If we went back, however, I'd stay in one of the mountain view rooms -- in addition to being less expensive, I think that view is more unique as the mountain towers over the property and is absolutely stunning.

If you're looking to decompress and relax in understated luxury, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Before we booked I had read some reviews that recommended going with the mountain view room but disr...

Some girlfriends and I took a catamaran from St. Kitts to spend a few days in Nevis and were blown off of our feet, even from sea! Approaching the island is magical, taking in views of all the beautiful homes and hotel docks, it feels like being in a movie! Best of all is when you see this gorgeous span of paradise and say, "By golly, is that the Four Seasons?!" Yes, indeed it is.

The lobby is spectacular! Checking in was simple and efficient. The property is separated into two sections where the the beachfront rooms connect to the hotel, and the suits and villas are behind on the golf course. We were given a room on the golf course and had no qualms with it since we were told those rooms were bigger. I haven't stayed at a lot of FSs but this room was par in size with their other properties. Very spacious bathroom, big enough to hold a party of ten and do some dancing! The decor is plantation. Comfortable and clean. My husband gets weirded out about tiled rooms so if you are like him, you may not like this hotel. All the rooms have white tile floors. Internet wifi was a bit glitchy, maybe it was just the room we were in.

Service was great. Everyone smiles and greets you. Much nicer people than on St. Kitts. We had really great massages at their spa, which offers fabulous amenities. The breakfast was the best! Gorgeous dining room with island views. I had the crab Benedict and it was one of the best I've ever tasted. They had exotic fresh squeezed juices that we weren't charged for. That's always cool. There's also a very intimate library bar were you can relax and get a cocktail before retiring for the night.

We took a 6 person ATV around the island and had lots of fun exploring different beaches and restaurants so if you find that you need more than just the Four Seasons (which you probably don't for a short relaxing vacation) there's plenty to do off site.

Humid! But totally worth it! Great property, would definitely come again.

Treated like Royalty from the time we stepped off the plane. Ferry to Nevis was smooth sailing with complimentary water and Rum Punch! Breathtaking arrival with resort and mountain in the backround. Beautiful well maintained property with luscious landscaping. We walked the entire resort and just kept taking pictures of the flowers - each more beautiful than the next!
Large clean rooms with fabulous ocean or golf course views. Restaurants both at the resort and on island were fabulous. Poolside and beach side service were incredible, both food & beverage and spa services! Macaroons delivered poolside in the afternoon were the perfect touch. No need to pack sunscreen as it was provided poolside and on the beach! One step on the beach or poolside and you were escorted to your chairs, provided with towels set up plus extra towels (which is a nice change from most resorts we have been to lately) and immediate order taken for a beverage. Flavored water of the day was always unique and refreshing! Golfed the most beautiful course we have ever seen and shared it with the monkeys & the friendly dogs that lead the way! Taxi services arranged by the hotel were prompt with very friendly and accomodating drivers. Unobtrusive vendors who walk the beach are happy to sit and chat with you even if you aren't interested in purchasing anything from them. they have some great stories to share. White glove service without feeling "stuffy" - just a fabulous week. Would definitely return someday!

We are just getting back from our family holiday trip. The resort is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and the restaurant food was great. We will not be returning again for the lack of service. We were a group of 13. We had a 6 bedroom villa, a 3 bedroom villa and 2 ocean front rooms. The first thing that caught us as odd was that right away we were told we had to get to the beach first thing in the morning on our first day of vacation to secure our beach chairs and we wouldn't be able to have 13 together. Getting them together isn't the issue because we were all on our own schedules but it was the fact that you had to claim your chairs for the whole week and you couldn't deviate from that. They also wanted you to notify them if you werent coming to the beach that day. After all the fuss they make about the chairs, the beach and pool was never more than at half capacity and we honestly could have sat anywhere. The second issue we had was their dinner reservations. 5 of us tried to come to dinner on the day we arrived. The Neve restaurant was completely empty and they gave us attitude about not having reservations (it was 6:30) we went to the coral grill and were also told we couldn't be seated until 8:30 even though it was completely empty. Long story short, it was extremely hard to get any dinner reservations for the whole week and it wasn't until the last night that our whole group could sit together at the same table. It felt like they couldn't accommodate large groups. Again, the restaurants were never more than half full. The length of service is also an issue. Each day at lunch took at least an hour for us to get our food from the time we ordered. Even for a small group of 4 of us at 2pm, lunch was always a long affair. The service at the cabanas was great and they came by every 15-20 minutes to see if there was anything we needed. Getting tennis time is also difficult even though courts aren't full. A raquet was also stolen out of one of our bags while we were on the court. What we took away from this vacation is that for the luxury of a four seasons resort, we were never told "no" so many times on vacation. The resort and location is beautiful and all the staff was friendly but it is very poorly managed and we won't be returning until they work out the kinks.
