Believe you me , the accommodation was superb, beyond my expectation. However I was extremely dissapointed when I order my main course, the food is ridiculously small, and need upgraded.

This was a most wonderful resort, from the time we arrived the staff could not do enough. The guys in the surf shop were friendly and the sunset cruise was one of my favourite. I would say it is definitely a 5* resort and I am well travelled and would certainly rate this resort.

The villas were wonderful, as were the bathrooms, very spacious. Housekeep staff were excellent and nothing was ever too much and they go beyond their duties to help you.

Would I go again, yes for sure and would recommend to anyone.

We were terribly disappointed at the time we spent at this resort. Beginning with one heck of a journey, waiting 5 hours for a connecting flight to St Vincent, no luxe lounge as promised, actually no lounge at all. We also waited like cattle with our little twins on a bus for the next flight to come in so they could join our transit - a joke!! After a wonderful welcome (the highlight of our stay) in was down hill all the way. Theft is a major issue at Buccament Bay, we had money and our i pod stolen, even the childrens goggles, if its not nailed down it will be lifted, and sadly this was the experience of other guests we spoke to - we were not alone.

My main bug bearer was the terrible food. The restaurants were so incredibly poor. Food poorly executed, repetitive and 3* at best. Service was friendly but so un polished. Not at all what you would expect from a 5 * resort, but little wonder when the chefs at Bamboo were sitting around smoking and drinking half an hour before service kicks off.

We were also hassled by agents and investors trying to get us to purchase. We were approached by the pool, in the pool, waiting for a coffee and after dinner, once again not what we expect from a high end resort. We felt incredibly mis led by the information we had read, and would suggest to anyone to proceed with great caution.

Dear Madam,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. I do sincerely apologise that your vacation with us wasn’t as you expected. This is definitely not how we to treat our guests.
As for the concerns you mentioned, please note that we brought down a Trader Vic’s chef this week to train our staff and make sure that the food issues are addressed. We will also open Bamboo restaurant after upgrades in the next weeks proposing Italian cuisine with a Caribbean influence. Added to it will be the Indian Restaurant which will give better dining options. The Indian chef will be coming on Monday to setup the Indian Restaurant for opening.
In regards to the theft, we believe that these items were misplaced. The reason being is that we have very strict security measures that leave no gap for mishap. After investigation the ipod was found misplaced under the sunbed and was handed back to you.
Please note that we have a well experienced Training Manager who has opened a lot of resorts throughout the world and is continually training or team. We also have a Quality Assurance Manager who is responsible to look at the hotels standards. As it is a new resort, the team will take some time to meet your expectation, but I can assure you that the team we have here has done a lot of improvement and that we are in good track.
It is indeed unfortunate that you had to go through all these trouble during your stay, resulting from our team members or other guests, which shouldn’t have happened. I do thank you for bringing forward these concerns which I will address personally.
Please do contact me directly for any further queries and concerns.
Sincerely,
Mark Sawkins

Well where to start... They have given "going the extra mile" a whole new meaning.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by one of the resort managers (Boris). As you walk across the bridge to the resort reception you are greeted again and handed a cold towel to cool down and a little further there is someone there with a cocktail.

You are then taken to your villa and you luggage follows you shortly. Checking in is actually done at your villa for a more personal experience.

The villa it self is very beautiful spacious with sun loungers in the back along with a plunge pool (nice touch). Our villa was along the artificial river which was nice and quiet and private. There are beach view villas also available for those that prefer ocean view.

We spent our first day just roaming around the resort and having a good look at it and then just having a lazy day by the pool and beach. There are plenty of activities for you to take part in as well as various tours. One of my favourites was the sunset cruise which organised by the resort and if you are lucky you will get to see the dolphins and baby whales. Yohan is your captain who is very friendly and makes it a very enjoyable and fun experience.

Another one of the tours we sampled was a tour to the scene of Pirates of the Caribbean which is still up with plenty to see and you will then go over to Dark View Falls, simply breath taking.

Kayaking, sailing etc. is available all day for you to take part in. I sampled water skiing which isn't as easy as it looks on TV but still fun.

The staff there are very friendly and are really helpful. Anything you need or want to enquire about they will happily find out for you. When lounging by the pool you are frequently asked if you would like anything and they come round with smoothie's, milkshakes etc. which is nice as it is quite warm there.

Restaurants have a variety of foods & drinks and cater for all. The quality of service is very good as is the quality of the food. Snacks are available through out the day at any of the restaurants.

The purpose of our visit was to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and they truly made it a memorable anniversary. The resort manager personally wished us happy anniversary on the day and as a gift gave us vouchers for free spa session which was great. It didn't stop there, in the evening they had reserved a table for us with an ocean and beach view with candles and flowers and a bottle of champagne. The restaurant manager that evening (Kamal) was very helpful and made sure it was lovely dinner we had and we thoroughly enjoyed. Then back at our villa was anniversary card they made for us along with another bottle of champagne and there was flower petals leading to the bedroom which had also been decorated with flowers and they had written happy anniversary in flower petals on our bed. Truly exceptional and breath taking.

Overall view, if you want a five star break and five star service then Buccament Bay should be on that list of destinations you are considering. Will i be returning again... definitely yes :-)

After being married in Barbados we hopped over to Buccament Bay for our Honeymoon. We are amazed at the negative press the resort is getting and I'll tell you why. We've been travelling abroad for 30 years on holiday and pound for pound can guarantee that nothing comes close in terms of the experience or value for money.

From the minute you arrive the Hotel staff are on hand to look after you - our luggage was taken from us at the pick up and was in our room before were - with absolutely no further intrusion by staff or questions of any kind with regards to the bags.

On arrival you are welcomed by steel bands, cold towels and cocktails and introduced to the resort by well mannered and considerate staff. Our 6 year old daughter was then whisked off to the kids club to meet the carers - we would like to particularly thank Kamesha for all her efforts and for the time and care she put into make our daughters stay perfect.

We were then taken to our beach front villa by our lifestyle assistant David who explained all aspects of both the villa complex and the locale generally. We would like to both thank David very kindly for all his efforts during our stay (the man never missed a beat) he made sure that we were most comfortable and removed the need for us to remember anything. First class service from a first class local man.

The villas are absolutely stunning and maintained to a very high standard - well done the housekeeping staff overall and if they overlooked anything at all - David was there to fill in the gaps (few as they were).

Majority of the staff are local people and we want to mention in person, Sammy Ashton on the beach bar )Sammy thinks he may be related to me through his Scottish ancestry and who am I to argue? Sammy was lucky to escape the volcano in 1979 after his father forgot him whilst rescuing others but he's looking none the worse for it! Great chat and a first class barman - he knows his stuff. At the pool you need to look out for Desrick - he'll look after you but we'd like to mention all the guys at the pool - they were always on hand and very attentive. We want to thank all the bar staff and restaurant staff for being considerate and very helpful during our stay Audley (Chef) frequently toured the floor at night to gauge the reaction of his diners - a sure testament to what he brings to the party. I want to personally thank all the Vincy's on the staff who tirelessly answered all my mundane questions and gave me good insight to the island, its history and its people - as a first time visitor.

The management were great also particularly Laurence and all the other staff in the restaurants and coffee shop.

The facilities are first class the reviewers claiming not 5 star, clearly, are more used to Necker Island or Sandy Lane but the truth is that the standards at Buccament Bay are first class when you consider A). The island is not yet and has not historically been strong in tourism. B) The staff are, in the majority, Vincy's. Tailoring a specialised workforce from an island with limited resources within the industry cannot be easy and hats off to Mr Sawkins and the efforts his senior staff are putting in with regards to training up and breeding a culture of ownership in this new venture.

The accommodation is superb, the concept is superb, the staff are superb we enjoyed 10 of the most relaxed days at Buccament Bay and thank all for their efforts. If its genuine unhindered relaxation your after - do yourself a favour - ignore the negative stuff and book a stay at Buccament you wont regret it.

Firstly I know this resort is not finished yet. However the phase that is finished is excellent. We stayed for 2 weeks in June & although it did rain a lot we still had a great deal of sunshine. The staff are wonderful & cant do enought for you. You even have your very own lifestyle rep. The food is good quality but it does tend to be the same each day which gets a bit monotonous (especially if there is something you dont like). There is very little to do at the resort so if you are looking for night life it is not for you. The villas are very modern & the aplash pool is a great way to relax at end of the day. On the whole this is a luxury resort which is reflected in the price. if you can get a good deal it is well worth a visit we will certainly return if the price is right!

Dear Sir / Madam,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. It is very kind of you to mention that the finished part of the resort is excellent. I do apologise that we haven’t been able to meet your expectation in regards to the food options. We are currently working on having Bamboo Restaurant redone which will propose Italian cuisine with a Caribbean touch. This should be completed during this month and we will have another restaurant, The Safran restaurant which will be added to the list offering Indian Cuisines.
Sincerely,

Spectacular. From the moment the boat turns into the bay your breath is just taken away. I was there for a week and I didn't want to come home. Now I can't wait to go back.
