- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- An 8 bedroom, fully ensuite, family-run hotel located 20 miles from Cardiff and just 5 miles from the Brecon Beacons National Park and just 200 yards off A465. The Hotel was built in the late 1820s and was originally owned by the Global Iron and Steel Barons Guest, Keen and Nettlefold (GKN). In 1900 the hotel was sold to John Basageleo whose father came to Merthyr from Italy to work as a miner and found work in a local drift mine. The Hotel has been run by the same family for the last 10 years in which time we have built a good reputation serving fine ales and beer. We have ample car parking at the rear of the premises. The hotel bar is also fully licensed featuring a range of ales, spirits and soft drinks. You can enjoy a tasty bar meal with a lunchtime drink or sit and relax with friends. Pasta, seafood, curries, salads and a choice of fresh-cut sandwiches are always available. Tredegar Arms Hotel has a policy to maintain the highest standard of service. ... more less
