We spent a week on the upper level of the Bequia Reef House with another couple in late March 2018. This is an extremely comfortable house with a sensational view. The house manager was there to welcome us and show us around when we arrived. Cassandra, the housekeeper, had prepared a light dinner which was delicious and much appreciated after a long day of travel. She’d also purchased a few groceries for breakfast the next morning based on a short list we’d provided in advance. Super comfortable beds. Consistent breeze every night through the screen doors. Quiet except for the soothing sound of the surf at night. Never wished for air conditioning. We woke up each day to a sensational view overlooking the coral reefs in Industry Bay/ Crescent Beach. The house and balcony were extremely spacious. We had lots of fun together on the balcony. But the balcony wrapped around the house so there was also lots of opportunity for a nap or a read in a quiet corner, on one of the comfortable cushioned loungers. Lots of doors on both sides of the house that allowed for a consistent ocean breeze throughout the house. Plunge pool was crystal clear and a real plus and included a view of the bay. Kitchen very well equiped; ice in the freezer when we arrived. No concerns drinking the tap water. The owner was generous with tips and suggestions via email before our arrival. Chris, the house manager, was very attentive and easy to contact by phone. He checked in by phone every other day but did not intrude on our privacy. We walked down to the beach and over to the turtle sanctuary one afternoon. Also walked down to Sugar Reef for a delicious dinner one night. We definitely enjoyed the trip to the Tobago Cays on the Friendship Rose. We relied on Garvin from Gideon Taxis for most of our taxi rides. Always on time. We loved the open air taxis. We especially enjoyed a 3 hour tour of the island with Garvin; very informative. ATM worked well with Canadian debit card. Easy to get basic groceries and wine at Knights. Case of beer from the brewery. Lots of fruit and produce at the various veggie stands close to the main dock. The people of Bequia were especially warm and welcoming and always polite. We had a great week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bequia Reef House. Definitely recommended.
We couldn't have asked for a better vacation rental during our 2 week Bequia stay. Reef House was exactly as advertised, in fact, even better. Large comfortable bedrooms, fantastic four poster beds, large well-appointed kitchen, beautiful grand living room for family time, large decks and patios and the pool was perfect for us and our 11 year old daughter. Outstanding views over the bay and its surroundings and always a good breeze coming through the house. All of this is in a very private and quiet setting, exactly what we were looking for. The villa makes you not want to leave but getting out and exploring the island is essential.
The owner is amazingly helpful and the villa's warm and friendly caretaker is just a phone call away. Thank you so much to Sally, Chris and Cassandra for making our stay so memorable!
Reef House is a Polynesian-style home with no interior hallways and spectacular views from all rooms. The Balinese furniture in the large, octagonal great room inspires relaxation and elegance. We swam and snorkeled, swam and snorkeled; then ate dinner in the open-air dining room looking over the ocean on one side: the lovely garden on the other side. Some nights we ate at inviting nearby small restaurants (some with live music) until we ambled home to Reef House knowing that the tradewinds would lull us into peaceful sleep.
We felt lucky that the owners were willing to rent their home - everything has been built with high quality materials and excellent design.
Bequia Reef House is deliciously divine. The pictures posted on the website barely capture how inspiring this location is; it is a slice of heaven. I now completely understand the reference, " Sweet Bequia." Our stay remained satisfying to the very last moment. The owners offered an array of helpful tips on taxi contacts, restaurants, ferry travel, all which assisted ease of travel. It was clear from people we met around the island that the couple who rented to us were well liked and a respected part of the community. My husband and I left renewed with all goals and anticipations met. Although we could have just stayed at the house where every detail and need seemed to be thought out by the owners and the views were ethereal, we also explored the island of Bequia and what the surrounding Grenadines offered. Everyone we met was warm and welcoming here, we ate superb food (Cassandra's greeting meal is a mighty fine touch and the Roti's at Sugar Reef down the hill are glorious), we sailed to the Tabago Cayes, and explored the landscape below the surface of the sea. Fantastic!
I don't think I could adequately put into words how amazing this house and island is. Everything from the views, the beach breeze, the sound of crashing waves, the long secluded beach, the amazing hosts, and the perfect location- it all far exceeded every expectation we could have had! Don't miss out on this, you cannot get this anywhere else!
From day one Sally was responsive and eager to help. She provided us with an information packet that included places to eat, recreational activities, beaches -We had all the information we needed!
A few mornings we walked into town. It was a fairly easy walk taking roughly 40 minutes or so. The town itself and the harbor is beautiful! The restaurants that we tried were all fantastic…Thursday nights at Frangipani is a must do…steel drum band…dancing and a BBQ. -Cab rides home were easy to find, the locals are so sweet and kind.
So seriously, stop reading and BOOK NOW ! You won’t regret it! It truly is a stunningly beautiful, slice of heaven!
What a great house with fantastic views! Nothing better than the constant breezes and the sound of the ocean. The owners made sure our every need was accounted for from the time we landed until the time we left. Will be back for sure!
My husband and I have visited Bequia 4 times and stayed in 4 different villas, all in the Spring area (the quiet side of the island). We loved all the places we've stayed, but Reef House is our favorite! So much to recommend it. The location--a short climb above the ocean with wonderful ocean breezes and the sound of the waves, a wrap around veranda where we could watch the sunrise each morning (and every sunrise is unique on Bequia). The architecture of the house, with its central room with large doors that open on all sides to let in the sun and the breeze. The proximity to our favorite restaurant on Bequia, Sugar Reef (barely a 10-minute walk from the house). And Chris, the house manager is the loveliest man! He found us fish when we wanted to eat in, and answered all our questions. On our next visit to Bequia, we'll be sure to return to Reef House!
