Owner description: This popular beach spot fulfills the fantasy of the ideal Caribbean beach, but is just as famous for the scenic rainforest drive that must be made to reach it.

“Bake and Shark a must!”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

Maracas is a beautiful beach, lovely drive up through the hills with a stunning sea view. The beach has the back drop of the mountains, coconut trees dotted around, fishing boats tied up at one end of the bay, really picturesque. The water is a little choppy but very warm.

Richard's Bake and Shark is one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted, really it cannot be missed and put in as many condiments as you can fit in the bake. Delicious! Apparently his sister Natalie runs the one next door which is also very good.

Fresh coconut water for about 50p from the man going up and down the beach. Doesn't get better than that.

I think i cost us about 450 TT to be driven up there and back, the driver waited for us and looked after our belongings at the beach for 4 hours. He was called Joseph and we found him at the taxi rank downtown, highly recommend him.

“Maracas Beach”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

One of the better beaches in Trinidad .Very popular and quite easy to access, the best feature is by far the trini cusine found in the various food stalls/huts. One should indulge in as many of the fried and grilled delights .. bake and shark , fish, shrimp and ...whatever. These are some of the BEST sandwiches you will ever have

“Amazing and a must see......”

One of Trinidad most beautiful beaches. But what makes it better is the actual drive to get there. Great for sight seeing. Great for pictures. Great for nature lovers. Also check out the maracas waterfall while ur there. It's a short hike it the falls and a magnificent site.
