Owner description: This popular beach spot fulfills the fantasy of the ideal Caribbean beach, but is just as famous for the scenic rainforest drive that must be made to reach it.

It takes an hour drive from POS to get here and the area isn't safe with locals checking out tourist for valuables. As the rule of thumb do not leave your car unattended or you might regret. To be safe there's paid parking next to Richard's bake and shark across the street from the beach. The shore is nice and scenic with lots of coconuts trees to shade but beach is rough with strong current. Do not get in the sea/ocean if your not an expert swimmer because it's not safe at all. I didn't see any lifeguards while we're there. Yes there's a lifeguard house but nobody's there. One more thing there's lot of food stands to cater your taste for local food and not just Richard's, I know it's where most tourist frequent but try others too you might be surprise. There you have it, enjoy the beach and foods.

Maracas Bay is a lovely place to relax and unwind. You must sample Richard's shark and bake if you have the opportunity- absolutely delicious!

The entire experience of Maracas Bay is amazing. It all starts on your journey to the bay. The roads are filled with curves and breath taking views. There is a lookout point with a great snack stand that has authentic Trinidad choices. I recommend the Mango Chow. Once you arrive to the beach the view stops you in your tracks. The water is cool and the wave are rough. There are lifeguards and they won't let you venture to far out. Plenty of food stands around, and you have to try the Bake and Shark. It's delicious.

If you in Trinidad Maraca’s bay it’s a must! The journey will take you on a winding road with breath taking views, stop on a side stop; buy some pickled mango & pineapple and take great pics.

The beach it’s all you want: white sand, tropical trees.

There are public toilets, food vendors and the traditional bake and shark.

Make a day of it its well worth it. Enjoy all it has to offer the sea, sand and shark!

Excellent beach. Clean Atlantic waters with waves which can sometimes be threatnening. Early morning calm waters can be stunning and peaceful. Enjoyed staying at the only on beach hotel. 'Maracus Bay Hotel' Hotel is clean and simple but not posh. Would make a mint if upgraded.
