Used to be more back in the day. But if you are an artist like me you will find the sights intriguing.

You must be very security conscious when visiting the Port of Spain city centre. Do not display lots of jewelry and expensive items. The BL Promenade can be a cool relaxing place with many shady trees and business places around but don't stay there longer than you have to because of pick-pockets, crime and vagrants. When cruise ships dock the present People's Partnership government do station additional security along the BL Promenade because passengers can use the Promenade to walk to downtown POS for shopping. Many businesses do stage promotional activities on the promenade because it is in the middle of POS.

The atmosphere is poor .The statue of brian lara is good but the place is dirty and unkept. There are usually homeless persons sleeping on the benches.

It was a disappointment as there weren't any tourist type shopping as we had been told. It was interesting to see the center of the city

you can sit in the many benches, buy food from the street vendors, and take in the views of the city...such as excellent stores, bmobile, etc
