We tried this restaurant because it looked like a nice ambiance for a dinner while we drove past. The ambiance was nice, but that's about it. The prices give the impression that at least you'd get something to leave you satisfied..for example the Chicken Pasta was TT$115. It was less than you get in a $13 container of Ramen noodles. The Chicken was tastless and part of the mean that was mentioned on the menu was missing. Also note that it took 45minutes to come, and there was only one other table occupied!!

We also had the Grill Platter which had chicken, lamb and pork with sides of potato. The thing came with a single long green bean on the side, a slice of carrot, an onion, a tablespoon of mashed potato. There lamb was more bone than anything and the chicken and pork were enough to fit on a fork..together..it was absolutely ridiculous..not to mention that the cost of that plate was TT$150

Don't waste your time and money here.

I don't think there is enough space in this review to convey my utter disappointment on our visit to Melange.

Starters were excellent, which encouraged us to plough through the server who was completely untrained and unaware: when asked what type of pasta came with the meal, the response was "parmesan cheese". The description of the special was "well, it's chicken stuffed with, well, it real nice".

We could not get our first, second or even third choice mains. This was brought to our attention 15 minutes after we ordered. The plates and vegetables were cold, and the meats dry. This was after 40 minutes of waiting. The bar woefully understocked (no limes, no Lite beer) and expensive ($55TT for a shot of Absolut - that would buy Belvedere in Trinidad in Prime or Chaud!).

Of course there were no desserts available either. I didn't even have the opportunity to discuss the failings as the chef was not there and didn't return my call the following day. Waste of money, waste of time, and amazingly the only bad meal we had in Tobago. I will NEVER go to that restaurant again and am disgusted at the level of service that passes for the Chef's "raison d'etre" according to the local Cre-Ole magazine write-up.

Go to La Cantina and see what real service, real food, and real enjoyment is like.

We had the special of Friday night ,the food was great, very tasty and the price was far less than I ever expected. You usually pay far more for less quality at most other resturants in Tobago. The Atmosphere was really Different and pleasantly beautiful,Unique and beautiful. The chef was really interacting with all the patrons which makes the experiance unique and satisfying, the music was also very nice.A must, for every visitor to Tobago.

This restaurant has a foreign atmostphare, not from abroad but different in the restaurant. You are served chefs food with a new meaning. It is a bit costly but great to take a romantic night out.

The setting for Melange is wonderful, a little eclectic but we were made to feel very welcome. The menus outside the restaurant did not seem to reflect what was on offer inside but the three of us found enough to get the taste buds going. We were just admiring the air of faded past glories of the property when one almighty arguement kicked off somewhere in the kitchen. We enjoyed listening to twenty minutes or so of robust excahnges before a young lady made her exit, at some speed, in the yellwo sports car that had been parked in the gardens. After that the rest of the meal was something of an anti-climax. The food was quite acceptable but did not really match up to the surroundings or the price tag. Several other people arrived to dine as we left and others we spoke to said that Melange can quite often provide an interesting experience but not always on the plate!
