Beautiful location, lovely view over Castara. The villa is spacious and we were not bothered by the road behind. However, we think the villa is not kept in top condition, due to the absentee owner. When we arrived, there was no water at all so we couldn't use the toilets or have a shower. Porridge who keeps an eye on the property, was willing to help and his wife brought us some bottled water. A plumber came later in the evening and fixed the cold water but we had NO hot water the entire stay. We contacted the owner who lives in the US. She was disturbed to hear about our experience but we havent heard fro her since. Also, the freezer smelt very bad so we couldnt use it and partly used soaps from previous guests was all that was supplied. There is no pool on the property so OVERPRICED for just the view.

Overlooking Castara Bay are 4 apartments. We were in Bamboo Apt, with the best view, great bedroom, deck, full kitchen amenities, and no village dog/rooster noises. Parking is convenient but you do need a car to get down to the lovely village of Castara, enjoy the sandy, quiet beach, buy fish right off the boats each afternoon and order bread baked by the local ladies on Sat. and Wed. Porridge made sure our questions were answered, rented us a car, did pickup at the ferry (ferry ride was roomy, 50TT and easy-but can not book from the US), drove us to the airport to depart, as well as having a fun BBQ one evening. A/C provided, but not needed. This is not a crowded inclusive resort, just an ideal experience as an island vacation is meant to be!

Room Tip: Bamboo Apt had the greatest view, but all can use the huge patio that overlooks the bay.

Paradise Point is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing, less "touristy" island experience. The gorgeous, well-appointed villas overlook the ocean and the lush hillside foliage, and all have full kitchens, decks and private baths. Although you do require a car to go to the local eateries, beaches and bars, the trade-off is that you get far more privacy and peace than you would at a “Club Med”-type resort. Porridge, the caretaker, is friendly and helpful, and will ensure that you get an authentic taste of Tobago. Finally, although you’re going to see a couple of critters any time you visit the tropics, I certainly didn’t find my room overrun with geckos (or anything else, for that matter). I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Paradise Point Villas, and plan to return next year.

Really amazing views and nice enough but too far out from the town for us - you have to have a car and then you can't have too many rum punches in town and you will be invited for some by the hospitable Porridge who looks after the villas. Also bit of a gecko problem, don't mins them crawling around but the droppings and their smell can be a bit tiresome. Lovely places if you want to get away from it all or are taking a group.
