- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The beautiful latticed and fretworked cottages set in 2 acres of tropical woodlands above Scarborough, sleep up to 6 people, in three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one of which is ensuite. The woodlands surrounding the cottages are made up of fruit trees, giant mahoganies and other hardwoods. These, and the reliable breeze, make the cottages and the land itself shady and cool. Attached to each bedroom is a balcony where you can enjoy the wild life with your morning beverage or the stars in the clear sky with your evening aperitif. The open living and dining areas are close to the cottages. They are set inside the forest itself and are frequented by a whole variety of birds who come for food and drink especially at breakfast time. Between the rooms and the living / dining area is the beautiful mosaic pool, designed and built by the owner to reflect the work of Rousseau and Gaudi. The bathrooms also feature lovely mosaics depicting tropical animals. The entire house is built in the style of traditional wooden houses in old Tobago. This makes it unique as a guest house. The cottages are private and secluded. Guests can enjoy the experience of an inside/outside lifestyle among the trees and lush vegetation that create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Added to this is the range of food offered at breakfast and dinner, prepared by the owner who is the co-editor of a Tobago cookery book and whose menus receive high praise from all who visit Mt. Pelier. This is not only a 'home away from home' but also a very beautiful, unique holiday experience where the beaches are only five to ten minutes away and the walks through the woodland provide the other side of life in lovely Tobago.Rates are per person and include a delicious breakfast. Evening meals are available on request. ... more less
