I have to say I had no idea what we would expect at Bohio but upon our arrival we immediately knew this this place was special. Starting with a warm welcome from Tom and Ginny and all the friendly greetings from the entire staff to the five star food by Jorika and mostly our wonderful dive master, Jesse!!! This was our first family dive trip with our 18 & 20 year old and it was such a great vacation. There are 16 rooms, 4 of them have small kitchens. We stayed in room 5, best view of the ocean and right on the ocean on the second floor. Don't pack too many shoes since we wore our flip flops most of the time! Some didn't wear shoes the entire 9 days! It's a lovely laid back resort and well worth the full day of travel time. The drinks are pricey but well worth it since the girls really know how to make a Mojito! Since it's the island everything is expensive so be prepared! Tom & Ginny took care of all the flight from Provo to Grand Turk and all our dive requests. Definately do a night dive and the snorkling was great right off the beach! Take lots of books since it's a very relaxing kind of place. We loved it and can't wait to go back! I'm afraid word is going to get out and this place is going to be very popular but I'm sure Tom & Ginny will make sure it stays the gem of Grand Turk! Don't let the cruise ship visitors on the beach bother you, it's actually great people watching and Tom & Ginny make sure the hotel guests are taken care of first! The cruisers are usually gone by 2-3pm!

The 1st location to stop our cruise was Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos. We decided to explore the island by ourselves instead of taking any of the cruise excursions. So, took a cab from the port to Cockburn Town ($7 p/p) and since there isn't too much to do in downtown we decided to keep walking following the road and found this private hotel, in front of the beautiful, quiet beach. We stopped at the bar and drank the island draught (Turk's Head) to enjoy the gorgeous different blue tones of the sea.
Next to the bar they have a nice lounge area (only for guests). We met the owners of the hotel -Tom & Ginny- so it seems they are upgrading and updating the hotel. If you want to immerse yourself in a peaceful beach and enjoy the scenery of the beach, THIS is the right place.

You have to go here not expecting anything. Take off your watch, take a deep breath and enjoy the beautiful scenery and people of the island.
I don't dive, but I still had a good time! Well my husband was out in the ocean, I enjoyed some quite time reading and sipping a mud slide or two. You can get internet at the hotel, but do you really need it. Turn off your computer, take off your shoes and run your feet through the sand.
Food is good, and they will cater to your needs and special requests. Coffee is ready by 7:30am. Breakfast is off a menu, there are plenty of choices and definiately lots of food to keep you going till lunch or even dinner!
Service is slow, but friendly. You have no where to go, so why rush.
The hotel did get busy when the cruise ships came in. But the prime sitting areas are keeps for hotel guests only and they do make every effort to serve you first. The island does need the ships for their economy as there are only 100 hotels rooms on the island and that is not enough to keep the tourism industry going.
The resort had their staff Christmas party well we were there and all guest were invited. They really treat you like part of their family.

I will definiately go back!

I was looking for a dive destination online and happened to come upon this resort.
The day of traveling was well worth it!
We were warmly greeted at the hotel by Tom and Ginny(the owners) and shown our room.
It was the king suite, nothing elaborate but spacious and clean.
Next morning was the first dive, Jessie was our divemaster .He did a fantastic job
throughout the week!
The reefs are alive with colour and life.
We come back to the resort between dives ,as the wall is only minutes away.
The waitress takes your lunch order ,so it will be ready for you ,after your next dive.
The small quaintness of the resort is unbelievable.
The food is prepared fresh to your liking and will take longer then many guests realize.
You may have to look for the waitress and let her know you need another drink.
Yes this is the Caribbean and everything is done on island time.
The one thing that was NOT great about this resort was the few hours the cruise ships' passengers
come to visit the resort.
The taxi drivers try to max out their fares ,by taking the ships' passengers to the furthest destination with a beautiful beach, which happens to be the Bohio resort.
The service becomes slower due to the number of visitors.
Tom and Ginny(the owners) step in to help serve ,and always try to put the hotel guests ahead of the
ships' patrons.
It does become overwhelming when more then one cruise ship is in port.
Great dive vacation,thanks Bohio!

We liked our first visit last year so much that we came back for 2 weeks of diving beginning Thanksgiving Week. We were welcomed back like family. It was every bit as good as we remembered. The wall diving is spectacular, the food is wonderful, and Ginny and Tom are adding upgrades all the time.

Room Tip: Choose one of the suites for a larger room with a kitchenette.
