“Spectacular sea views”

The Beachside Bungalows are located on the north end of the island away from the hustle of the Cruise Centre. Having said that they are separated by one treed and bush covered large lot from a series of palapas that are used by the cruisers who are looking for isolated sections of beachfront. On cruise days there would be music playing, and the number of people on the beach would increase. Neither was a problem.

We stayed in the larger of the two bungalows. There are two good size bedrooms, one with a king bed and an ensuite, and the other with two twins that were pushed together to make a queen size bed. This one had an adjacent full washroom.

The bungalow is appointed with attention to aesthetic detail. The great room ceiling is peaked, rising from about 15 to a maximum of 18 feet. The soft furnishings are pleasing with colour coordinated cushions and pillows. The wall art is striking, and there are a host of other aesthetic details that indicated how much Joanie and Drew love this home. The bungalow was spotless upon our arrival , and it was well stocked with clean towels.

There are two large ceiling fans in the great room/kitchen, and one slightly smaller ceiling fan in each of the two bedrooms. We ran the fans 24/7. They, in combination with a breeze that blew through the bungalow when front and back doors were open, made the interior comfortable despite the heat outside. There is an air conditioner in each of the two bedrooms. We found that running these for an hour before bedtime, cooled the room sufficiently, that we were comfortable through the night with just the overhead fan running.

The covered porch, facing the sea, has a dining table with four chairs, and a reading area with a settee, arm chair, coffee table and side table. There is also a hammock. We spent much of our day outside reading, exercising in the morning and late afternoon.

The closest grocery store J&J's has a good supply of staples. Fresh food is best on the days the boat has made a delivery. The same is true of Cees, further south. It sells in bulk so would appeal to families who were planning to eat most meals in.

We chose to dine out, and would highly recommend Bohio (within walking distance), Osprey, and Jack's Shack. We took Jack's Taxi (not the same Jack!) to the latter two restaurants.

The view, the breezes, the water, the gardens, and all the amenities made the Beachside Bungalows a happy VRBO experience. We would recommend without reservation.

“Just back.... great stay”

Just stayed 2 weeks in the larger unit. What a great spot. Comfortable, easy to live in, and nicely furnished. First week, 3 adults and 2 early teens. Plenty of space, a fantastic porch with a wonderful western view which made for some spectacular sunsets. Second week .. just the grandparents .... quiet and relaxing. Master bedroom is spacious and has its own bathroom; the smaller - 2 twins and also contains the washer and dryer in a closet. The second bath is off the second bedroom. Both bedrooms had window A/Cs. All rooms had ceiling fans. A great porch with a hammock, table for 4, a love seat and matching chair. Outside shower was right next to the porch and the shed with bikes was convenient.

We used Jack for all our cab needs .. dependable and always on time. Rented a golf cart from Nathan - $400 for the week--cars were way too expensive.

Dinner a few nights at Bohio - owners Tom and Ginny were fantastic and helpful. You can hang out on their beach, etc. if you let them know your staying at the Bunglow and use their chairs, small pool, etc. Also took the kids on the Gibbs Key trip from Bohio. Well worth it - rays, fresh conch on the beach, snorkeling at the Key and then right at the Wall.

Tried the BBQ at Osprey - not great, but 2 dinners at the Sand Bar were fun. Also recommend lunch at Barbie's .. a short walk.

There are 2 markets within walking distance. Prices are a little high, but...

A previous reviewer had "complained" about the "cruise beach" a little ways up the beach. This spot is a "private" venue available to cruisers who get bused in for a couple of hours. Altho there were ships in just about every day, we didn't find it to be a bother. Most days, music (not really loud) and the crowds were gone by 4.

Everyone we met was friendly and helpful and very proud of their island paradise.

Again.... great spot. Especially, if you like quiet, non-commercial, or high intensity vacations.

“"Paradise" isn't overstating it!”

This place is definitely as good as advertised. My wife and I spent eight incredible days at Beachside Bungalow for our Honeymoon. Drew has these places in perfect shape. It's truly a first-class beach house. We made full use of the hammocks, beach chairs and especially the bikes. Also, staying here makes you feel like a "belonger," or at least as close as you can come. The locals appreciate folks who stay on Grand Turk for an extended period of time, as opposed to just swinging by with a cruise ship. In just eight days, we'd made a bunch of friends and felt as if we were part of the community.

Speaking of the cruise ships, it's kind of fun to see the island come alive when they stop by. On the flip side, it's pretty fun to feel like you have it all to yourself when they're not there. My wife and I enjoyed both experiences, as they were both fun in their own way.

We'd recommend using the bikes and exploring -- the lighthouse, museum, jail, the cruise terminal, and all the bars and restaurants -- Bohio is the best food, Sand Bar the best view and atmosphere.

The only downside is there's a cruise bar next door, which appears to have been built in the last six months or so. This isn't that much of hindrance, as we went over there for lunch/drinks a few days and got to know the bartenders. However, you can hear the music when the ships are in. When they're not, it's totally silent, and you have the beach to yourselves. You'll also want to bring with some bug spray, as the mosquitos can be a bit rough at night (and it's really hard to find on the island).

Overall, we're happy to give this place an enthusiastic 5/5 stars. We stayed on both the big and little sides, and they're both first class. We'll definitely be bringing our families and friends back to this undiscovered gem in the Caribbean.

“Perfect Family Holiday!!”

We stayed at Beachside Bungalow for two weeks over Christmas & New Years. We loved everything about it and couldn't have asked for a better holiday. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The beach was beautiful and very quiet. We enjoyed swimming, snorkelling, strolling on the beach, biking, putting mileage on our little golf cart and just hanging out on the porch overlooking the gorgeous blue & turquoise water, watching the sunset and sipping our pina coladas. Our favourite restaurants were Bohio (we had a wonderful Christmas dinner and New Years Eve there), Osprey & The Sandbar. We found the locals to be incredibly friendly. Its a very quiet place, which is what we were looking for. It was a perfect holiday and we would have rebooked immediately for next year but of course it is already rented! Drew was a most pleasant and helpful host. My husband doesn't want me to post this because he says it will never be available for us to rent! If you're looking for a quiet, idyllic beach holiday, this is it.

“Fantastic cottage with a stunning location”

We landed on Grand Turk coming from Provo and was met at the airport.
We were then driven to the cottage and got useful information on the way. We came a bit early but the cottage was finished cleaned in advance. The exterior and interior of this very nice house is actually even better in reality than it looks on the pictures (yes I know...the pictures are fantastic). We stayed in the large apartment and to our surprise when we opened the door, it was bigger than you could see on the pictures.
We did not have much contact with the owners, mainly because we did not have any problems with either the house or the booking.
If you are reading this and are not certain if you would like to go here or to Provo, well, it is a fairly easy choice. And on Grand Turk I think we managed to get the best house.
Thank you Drew and Joanie for a very nice stay in your house.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we searched for a spot that was easy to get to, affordable, but offered stunning views, clear water and comfortable accommodations. We certainly found this and more in the Beachside Bungalow on Grand Turk! Keep in mind, though, that you are renting a home and not a hotel room, so expect to be "on your own" rather than in a pampered environment. But, that's exactly we wanted - a VERY comfortable, private setting that felt like "home" in the midst of paradise.

We had a wonderful stay in the beachside bungalow! The house itself was immaculate! It was our first time to Grand Turk and we loved it. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, secluded island life. We also loved the way the atmosphere changed when the ships docked. It was the best of both worlds. The water is like no other! Absolutely gorgeous! We had never snorkeled but we fell in love with this new activity during our stay! Highly recommend a boating trip out to swim with the sting rays and dive for conch! Trevor aka "Meat" at Bohio was awesome!
The owner, Drew has the house set up for a great, relaxing getaway. Great beds and comfy living area. There was a warm breeze during the day but the bedrooms were plenty cool at night.
If(when) we go back I will take fewer clothes. We skipped our nicer clothing and wore swim suits and cover ups most of the trip!:) The island is very casual. I'll take more groceries since they are quiet a bit more expensive on the island.
Overall our stay was wonderful. We miss it and hope to return soon!
