Just recently returned from Turks and Caicos with a group of girlfriends. We could not have asked for a better place to stay than the West Bay Club. The property is beautiful and the staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered! The suite was amazing and spacious! The breakfast hit the spot every morning. The staff made sure we had comfortable seating with umbrellas at the beach each afternoon. One of the friends needed something from the store and asked how to get there and the employees had the item delivered as to not interrupt her relaxing day. If I ever return to Turks and Caicos I know that I will without hesitation stay at the West Bay Club.

Room Tip: Don't think there could be a bad room at this property!

The cleanest, friendliest place we've ever stayed. Staff was wonderful, everyone was very helpful. Kizzy and Marjorie, went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Marjorie even went so far as to make me a CD of music I enjoyed. Every staff member we encountered was delightful. Would highly recommend The West Bay Club.

Room Tip: We stayed in interior room and loved it. Was on the beach most of the day, glad we didn't pay ex...

My husband and I stayed at the West Bay Club May 15-19, 2014 for our 10 year anniversary and could not have been happier! Upon arrival we were greeted at the airport, given bottled water, and escorted to our taxi. At the hotel we were greeted with some awesome rum punch and escorted to our room by Wellington, who we ended up having many conversations with and can't say enough great things about him! He is an intern there and I would love to find out where he ends up some day! We booked a studio and were pleasantly surprised to find that we got one of the larger ones that had a washer/dryer as well as two balconies. One overlooking the pool and the other had an ocean view. The room was great and the entire hotel was just gorgeous. The breakfast each morning was fabulous and there were so many things to choose from! I couldn't get enough of those breakfast potatoes and fresh, local honey! The beach was breathtaking and the beach crew were awesome to set up your chairs and towels and see if you needed anything. We ate at Stix once and really enjoyed the food. Ventured out for lunch at Las Brisas on Chalk Sound which is a must see! The water is unbelievable! We also enjoyed Hemingways, Mango Reef, Magnolia, Somewhere, and Da Conch Shack. All were wonderful! We took a half day snorkeling cruise with Island Vibes Tours and would highly recommend it! So much fun! Overall we were highly impressed with West Bay Club and Provo and can't wait to return. It's expensive, but totally worth every penny!! Oh and they have a taxi driver there named Wainwright who is great and will take you anyplace you need to go not within walking distance. Great guy!

Let me tell you first that it is quicker to get from New York City to the West Bay Club in Turks and Caicos than it is to get to Florida. The flight is just around 3 hours and the hotel is a quick 10 minute ride from the airport (don't be scared, you'd think you were 100 miles from the airport - there is zero air traffic outside the hotel).

The West Bay Club had a "greeter" stationed outside baggage claim at the PLS airport to help us get a taxi to the hotel. The airport tends to load a bunch of folks into taxi vans which then drop the passengers at their respective hotels. We pulled up to the first hotel and I said "ooh, so pretty" upon seeing clusters of hot pink tropical flowers nestled above a whitewashed trellis. My happiness turned to even more happiness when I realized it was the West Bay Club. The lobby is so beautiful several other passengers jealously asked what hotel it was, and I saw their sad little faces pressed against the windows looking back wishfully as the van pulled away.

The reception staff was friendly and check-in was quick. Guests are offered a complimentary rum punch (or virgin rum punch) and cold face towel upon arrival. Hello relaxation!

One of the women explained the property to us as she took us to our 2-BR Ocean View Luxury Suite. The suite was comprised of a massive studio with a small kitchen and great bathroom/shower attached via door to a 1-BR suite with a large living room, good sized kitchen and outdoor terrace. Clean, beautiful and new in your classic Tommy Bahama-type furnishings. Beds were SO comfortable, the property is dead quiet at night and in the morning although sleeping in is not an option when there's so much beautiful beach to experience.

We made a trip to the local Graceway IGA grocery store (note: unless you live in New York City expect sticker shock, as everything in the island has to be imported - even the Skippy peanut butter!). We were going to buy wine and beer there but a "local" told us we'd get much better prices at the Wine Cellar down the road (great tip!). Cases of beer range from $46 for the local Turks Head brews to $75 for a case of Heineken...when in Rome! But definitely recommend stocking up on some essentials like PB&J, chips/salsa and alcohol day 1 as it'll allow you to avoid spending on overpriced hotel fare and save money for the important things, like massages and scuba diving! haha

The West Bay Club offers beach chair set-up (the guys are awesome but bring small bills for tipping!), windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaks, snorkels and even beach toys for the kids. The chaise lounge chairs are uber comfy and covered in a new white terry cloth which, along with the hotels signature blue towels are the perfect spot for an afternoon snooze.

The water is clear, clear, clear and at a perfect temperature. Great for kids because it's shallow for a while and not a lot of waves.

The hotels' restaurant 'Stix' on the beach serves up various goodies on kebab sticks: beef, shrimp, chicken and a relish coconut crusted corn on the cob. They also have a poolside restaurant where the complimentary breakfast (more to come), lunch and dinner is served - kitchen is open from 7am-10pm. The complimentary breakfast is not your typical continental though there are a variety of delicious homemade muffins and pastries, but also lots of fresh fruit, piles of bacon and pork sausage, grits, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, smoothies, yogurt and excellent coffee. Buffet style. Yum. A terrific deal. Also a terrific deal and a heck of a lot of fun is the hotel's new 'Friday BBQ on the Beach'...conveniently located at the beach entrance to the West Bay Club, the buffet style BBQ featured everything from reggae nachos to coconut curry mussels, ceviche, some of the best ribs and flank steak I have EVER eaten, and assorted sides. Topped off with a dessert bar (flan anyone) and bonfire. It's really a pretty, magical experience especially as it starts right before sunset which happens over the ocean. I'm relaxed just thinking about it.

There is also a local "Fish Fry" that happens every Thursday night a couple of hotels down from the West Bay Club in a huge parking lot space where the islands best restaurants set up tents and sell ribs, conch, grouper fingers - if it's fish related (or ribs related) and it can be fried - it's here. They have a DJ, entertainment, music and a Carnival-like procession to top of the night. Local merchants are also there peddling their shells and jewelry etc. A fun taste of local culture. SO good!

The hotel gym is small but new and beautifully air conditioned and not crowded. They have your typical bike, treadmill, stairclimber and weights. Got a great workout in! Once.

The spa is small but clean, and smells heavenly. The deep tissue massage was great, and if you've read my previous reviews you'll know I'm quite particular! Cost for a 50 minute deep tissue massage was $110 plus gratuity. They have tons of other spa services, just remember to pre-book if you want something like a mani/pedi as these slots tend to fill up fast.

The pool is gorgeous with a lovely view, lots of seating, and super quiet and relaxing. A lovely way to end the day with a cool, crisp glass of champs, rum punch or a frosty Turks Head lager.

Everyone is really top notch and professional on the staff, who are mainly comprised of locals. Helpful, pleasant and always ready to chat a few minutes, we would definitely come here again!

Room Tip: We got rooms 105/105A which is on the ground floor, so there was easy beach access from our terrace...

My husband and I just returned from a week long stay at West Bay Club from June 7th to the 14th to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I researched hotels/resorts extensively prior to arriving on where to stay and it was absolutely perfect! Our room was spacious, beautiful and our balcony and ocean view did not disappoint. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, room 202. We could not have wanted for anything! The entire property is gorgeous and the pool is really nice. The staff is attentive and yet not overbearing...it seemed they knew what we needed without us even asking. The guys at the beach...Charles, Jeffrey, William and Jimmy were so great! We had a lot of fun visiting with them and just laughing a lot! They spoiled us rotten. I wanted to take Charles home in my suitcase as he is a complete doll! All the staff are just tremendous people. The location is great and the beach area is not crowded at all. My only negative is the food and drink prices here. We found them to be one of the most expensive on the island which was too bad but the breakfast was outstanding every morning as well as any food we did order. We rented a car through Avis which was the smartest thing we did. They were great to work with and provided transfers to and from the airport which was a breeze. We were able to explore the whole island, different restaurants, resorts and shopping. For meals out, I highly recommend the Somewhere Cafe at Coral Gardens (fish tacos and great cocktails), Mango Reef (Escargot and the Mahi Mahi), the Seaside Cafe (really inexpensive Caesar salad that was yummy), Heminways (to die for Shrimp Pasta) and the Infiniti Bar at Grace Bay Club (the Infiniti Cocktail, shrimp cocktail and Chocolate Gourmandized dessert). We made our way to the latter on our final night and the ambiance, food and drink were almost magical. The fish fry on Thursday night is not to be missed and was a blast. It was so nice to walk just a few steps down the beach to it as well.

We met other couples and very nice families while we were there so that was a bonus. We planned the trip right at the beginning of the low season and took advantage of the every 3rd night free. Considering our luxurious accommodations it was a steal in my opinion. Many of the other resorts were a lot more expensive, too big and in most cases not as nice. It may be less crowded this time of year as well, so I would say it was a great time frame to visit. I could go on and on for days so let me just say this one thing, West Bay Club and Provo will not disappoint! We are already planning a return trip!

I hated leaving the resort! The staff was the best at customer service. Adia and Roger took car of us at arrival. We were ushered to the pool side bar where we were served an excellent fresh made rum punch. There was no front desk, they brought everything to us at the bar!

When we arrived at the beach, William and Wellington set up our chairs and chat with us about dinner options.

Our 2 bedroom condo was gorgeous!!!!! A.C. worked great, view was spectacular!
Bed was very comfy, water pressure great.

I think we met the entire staff! We will return!

Anyone can use the paddle boards and wind surfing equipment. We watched Charles spend 2 hours with another guest teaching him to wind surf.... The staff wants to help ensure a fabulous trip!

Overall, a very good property on the "quiet end" of Grace Bay. We really loved the location BUT we had a car!!! If you are going to spend your vacation here on foot, I highly recommend a more central hotel - most guests we met felt pretty limited by the places they could get on foot and cabs are a FORTUNE.

Best part of the vacation here: the staff and the beach!!! If you want a relaxing vacation on a glorious white sand beach with turquoise water and no one interrupting you, this is the spot.

Hotel pool is nice but small. The key cards were a problem and the first night it was a nightmare which over time improved. Wi-fi is excellent and you can get it on the BEACH if that's your thing. Housekeepers came at different hours every day which made it difficult to get our room cleaned (we went out in the morning to go diving most days on a regular schedule but there were 3 days we missed room cleaning and towels!) Biggest complaint: the room itself was dark and very small with no area to hang even a bathing suit let alone a wet suit. But the bed was comfortable and the little kitchenette saved us a lot of $$$.

Food and bar: excellent but expensive. Best bet: get yourself to the Graceway IGA and buy some groceries so you're not having to eat out for lunch AND dinner every single day. Getting a lunch for less than $40 a person is difficult here!

Overall, a good choice if you have a car and want to get out of the 'main strip' of Grace Bay.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, go with the suites. The studio was very dark and tiny with NO space to even h...
