“Excellent Place to Stay”
Reviewed 27 August 2012

I stayed at the Villa Del Mar for a week. It is very clean and updated with a fully stocked kitchen. The condo like rooms are great for making your own meals and the rooms were very large. I had a 2 bedroom and there was also a washer and dryer. The property is not on the ocean, but one block off the ocean. It is very easy to access the beach and this resort had a great pool and pool bar. It is a nice quite resort and most rooms have a view of the pool. There is free wifi which was awesome. The property is a short walk to shopping and the grocery store. There was also a lot of restaurants a short walk away. The rooms had a nice big patio and great air conditioning. The staff was also really friendly.

Clean/comfortable - check! Easily accessible to Grace Bay - check. Easily accessible to majority of cuisines on T &C - check. Affordable - check! So what's the differentiating factors? Exclusive hotel - not. All inclusive - not. $20 margarita's - nope! Infinity pool - negative. Guards at main gate - zippo and totally not necessary on this safe island. Property is newer. Rooms are decorated nicely. Beds are comfortable. Although the standard room does have a six foot kitchenette counter, if you take advantage of the continental breakfast and plan on eating out for L/D it really is of no use. Unless you like having a mini fridge in room, then it's worth it. Breakfast consists of coffee, Danish, cereal, juice and fruit. Nothing extravagant, a continental breakfast. If you prefer waffles, omlets, bacon, yogurt parfaits, etc. this will not cut it. But then again, you are not paying for a full breakfast within the cost of your room. You have a choice of two IGA's near by. One you can walk to. 20 minutes and a lot of sweat or if you have access to a car the other is 15 minutes away and slightly cheaper, very clean and quite large. So what to? What to do? Well, with two combined families of two adults and five teenagers you fill a cardboard box with 50 pounds of non perishables pay $25 bucks at the airport and send it on a one way trip to T&C. Kellogg's mini wheats, $ 1.99 on sale in NJ. $10.69 T&C! My family did have a full kitchen for breakfast. It was great! There are grills for dinner. We chose to eat dinner out daily and explore the wonderful restaurants. Pools are a not large but certainly adequate to get refreshed. Our visit to this island was to enjoy breathtaking Grace Bay. Pools were not a deal breaker. Fitness room, eh. If you are looking for a mini health club away from home, you will be big time disappointed. It's a small room with a treadmill, bench, elliptical. That's all she wrote! Staff - HELPFUL, COURTEOUS, FRIENDLY, HONEST regarding restaurants. Downside? Being that cleanliness is next to Godliness for me, I really can't think of any. My motto, you get what you pay for. In this case that was absolutely wonderful. I can tell you we could have spent twice as much and this review would have had a very different tone. Because with that double expense, I would have expected much much more. And really at the end of the day if status means spending another $4/$5 k more then knock your socks off. If a trip to T&C is in our future, Villa Del Mar will be my hotel destination!

Room Tip: Book ponies prior to arriving. Snorkeling, bananna boat, when you are is fine.

Villa Del Mar is a great place to stay in TCI. Our room was clean, spacious and modern. Having the kitchen was helpful, too. The pools are low key, but nice. The Tiki Bar was a lot of fun and has amazing drinks! The continental breakfast was basic, but fine. The walk to the beach is so easy, I can't see paying more just to be beach front. The staff was so helpful, and gave us suggestions that really made our trip great. I will be returning here. :)

Beautiful and very clean..... I stayed in a studio, the bathroom was large, the towels plush, the bed comfortable. Loved the small kitchenette and the fact that housekeeping did my dishes daily! Had a washer/dryer if needed. About a 10 minute walk to Dive Provo, about 15 mins to the market, about 3 mins to the beach. Decent breakfast by the pool. Very friendly staff. I was on the ground floor and had a pool just outside my room with a nice patio area that was semi-private. I liked that it was a bit away from the hustle of the real touristy area of Grace Bay, but still close enough to get around on foot if you don't mind walking a bit. Went by myself for a short getaway, and looking forward to returning as the beaches were beautiful, and there is a vast array of great dive sites.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have direct access to the resort pools

Our stay was fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat.
I'll make it quick and simple

Room - Consistent with that of rooms found in 4 star hotels (everything from beds to decor).

Bathroom - Since a major complaint of most travelers are cramped bathrooms n hotels, our bathroom was clean and big. Seperate tub and shower!!!

Location - literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. Obviously it does not satisfy thoser really wanting an ocean front unit, but their location is just as good as any of the oceanfront hotel's graden/botanical view units in terms of proximity to beach. VDM does have an attendant on the beach, and he will gladly get you drinks or food from the Pelican bay restaurant next door :)

Extras - free breakfast. Fresh pastries delivered every AM. Helps you save your breakfast money to spend more on lunch and dinner :) They had two Weber grills as well. These are meticously cleaned and provide enough heatng power to make some great steaks. My ground floor unit was 10 steps from the bar, 11 steps from the grill and 3 steps from the Hot Tub. I don't know what heaven looks like but that comes pretty close!!!

Bar- Bill at the on-site bar is awesome. Makes a mean Rum punch!!

Service - staff was awesome. All my requests were met quickly. Staff was very welcoming!!

By far one of the best hotel values I have ever come across. This place is a GEM!!

Room Tip: We had a ground floor since we have a toddler. Ground floor rooms basically butt up right to the po...

My wife and I stayed at this resort/hotel/villa for a whole week. The apartment is immaculate. Two bedrooms with a full kitchen and living room, plus a nice balcony for breakfast and late evening hand out. Stone tiled and granite countertops. The breakfast is complementary and they served this delicious pastry with many juices and fruit. This super nice lady called Keisha always had a big smile on her face as she served breakfast. The staff is super friendly and willing to go the extra mile to provide the best experience they can. We ordered rum punch on the beach everyday and it was charged to our room. The service is excellent. We are going back in november and we are staying here again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the one bedroom with a den. It has a full kitchen balcony and windows. The studios seem...
