“Trip of a lifetime!”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

Never have I felt so inclined to jump on my computer and write a review, but our experience this past week has been nothing short of a trip of a lifetime! My girlfriend and I just returned from a week at Club Med Turkoise, and wow!

So the supposed bad stuff: Being the aristocrat that I am, I was a bit apprehensive about some of the negative reviews about the outdated condition of the resort as well as the quality of food from an all inclusive resort. With expectations a bit low, we were SO pleasantly surprised. Yes, the rooms are a bit older, but they were very well maintained, and cleaning services came in daily. Honestly, we were totally happy with our room. Again, not the high quality finishes you might see elsewhere, but this minor compromise is totally outweighed by the amenities, service and location the resort offers. Food was also better than expected. Again, not high quality, but totally enjoyable with numerous options for each meal.

Also worth noting, the resort's capacity is much smaller than expected, while the resort itself is very large, which was such a great thing. The rooms were close to everything - the restaurant/bar, beach and activities, so walking the resort was so easy, and we were never fighting to get through crowds of people, tables for dinner or even chairs on the beach. That convenience should not be overlooked.

So the good...scratch that...amazing stuff: The staff. Blown away! The general manager was just incredible and the whole entire team were full of energy, super friendly and accomodating, and really made the experience all the more enjoyable. There were fun shows each night to enjoy and the staff in it's entirety (from the chefs to the the GO team) were just so involved and lively, that it really made our vacation that much better. I honestly can't say enough about how impressed we were. They truly made our trip exponentially better.

I've travelled the world and picked Turks and Caicos because we were in search of the best beach, water and ocean activities we could find. The beach has got to be one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. It was rated best beach of 2013 and was well worthy of that award. Simply paradise.

No shortage of activities, including free snorkeling trips twice a day (turtles, reef sharks, barracuda and countless tropical fish were seen while we were there) as well as sailing. We opted to takle advantage of several of the activities to pay for, which if you have the financial means,I totally encourage you to check out. Our favorite was horseback riding along the beach (including a bit in the ocean itself!). We also did a bunch of other excursions, such as a separate snorkeling/island tour as well as a sunset sail. Everything was totally worth the money. I'm an avid scuba diver and the staff at the resort were so wonderful and friendly. They took us to a few sites, and while the reef itself was not the best I've seen, we still saw plenty of amazing color and sea life. The water was a bit rough from a recent storm, so visibility wasn't the best either, but no complaints on the scuba experience.

So I gave the trip 6 stars out of 5. Many thanks to the staff who made our trip as amazing as it was. On our flight back to Boston, both my girlfriend and I agreed that our next vacation would be through Club Med again.

The Pros
The buffet is not as big as on other resorts BUT everything taste very good.
There is only one restaurant a la carte. We went twice and were very satisfied.
Tips are accepted but you don't feel bad if you don't tip every time you go to the bar
The beach is beautiful, the water is clear, you can walk miles and miles
Chairs are available at the pool and on the beach, no need to reserve your spot at 8 in the morning.
At sunset time, there is a guitar player at the bar on the beach and it is very festive.
At night, after the show, there is a live DJ and we all dance outside. A lot better than other resorts where the club is in a dark and humid room.
You can get the daily activity list at the reception so you will not miss the activities that you want to do.
The club has its special clock with one hour forward so you can enjoy the sun longer.
The Cons:
The buildings are VERY old and would need to be refreshed. The rooms are OK however. No balcony.
Most of the tables for lunch and diner are inside the building. The windows cannot open so you get no fresh air.
The wine is really bad
The shows at night are not very interesting

First time at a Club Med. After paying quite a bit for a 12 days vacation we had high expectations about our trip. Unfortunately they were not confirmed. Don't get me wrong: the beach is superb, the GOs team is working hard to make you feel comfortable, but the resort is run down and desperately needs a face lift. The rooms are small and very, very basic. The food is average and in limited diversity. Housekeeping and buffet service is slow and it takes patience and perseverance to get what your want. They only have one a la carte restaurant open only three days per week with a one page menu. The snack bar also has a limited food and drinks menu.
Most of the people come here because the club is adult oriented, and there is a lot of fun and mingling among tourists. Also they have a LOT of activities for everybody's liking. Disco parties every night. Shows are OK, but some of them (e.g. City of Dreams) should be revised. Kudos to the activities team.
Excellent welcoming with a perfect check in and check out. Christian and the gang really try and succeed to make it up for the other shortages, which not all depend of them (or even Club Med, as we understood). Discovery Centre is an excellent resource of local information.
We will not repeat at this location unless it will be renovated and entirely redesigned.

Got the day pass for $55 per person. It started off well - got to use the beach chairs, towels and partake in the lunch (which is an average meal - cafeteria style). This club is run down, but it sits on a beautiful beach.

My main goal was to use the catamaran sailboats, which was included in the fee. After a quick rain shower, I approached the "kids" who run the boats.... they told me I can't use them because the wind wasn't strong enough, which was a complete lie. They were done for the day and didn't feel like working ((20 minutes later, no joke, I saw two people use the sailboats)).

They said I could do trapeze and after I said no thanks, one kid started barking like a chicken at me, which was so rude. They asked where I was staying, and I told them a villa... they then mocked me and said - "oh you're one of those people". Club Med- teach your employees some manners.

The only thing average at Turkoise was the rooms. Other than that, the staff was exceptional!.!.! Mikey makes the best burger u can think of and is overall awesome!.!.! Ara leads up the sports and performances expertly and is an incredible person! Nicole was a great bartender, and also felt like a friend who cared about my well being. She was awesome!! As were bartenders Emma and Jennifer!.! Aric was exceptional at teaching sailing lessons, again with more of a friend feel!.!.! U can't beat this place for value and community!! Highly recommended!.!.

Once again CM comes through with a perfect vacation. The GO's give it their all from day time activities to the shows they perform into late night fun at the bar. We where there 11/13 thru 11/20, had some weather issues but they passed quickly. Special thanks to Christian, acting Chief of Village while Mike was at a meeting in France, Christian did a great job of keeping the party going and the energy high. I was impressed that he greeted us by name every time he saw us the entire week. If he's not a Chief of Village soon something's wrong at the home office. Hany was great at our cocktail party, introducing the GO team to us. Ara was funny and talented, Lauren in Housekeeping was very helpful, and a lot of fun. Alex & I had a good shouting match during crazy signs. Corentin was very talented as well and very helpful. Thanks to Dj Jimmy for spinning the 80's. Also old friends (GOs) Jimmy and Tanya - great to see them and catch up. Ruth the restaurant manager happened to meet us in the Boutique the first day and got us involved in the fashion show, which was a blast! We were fortunate to be there for the premier of a new show, The Lion Rises, which was visually stunning and well-performed. Kudos to Corentin and Brooke, and the rest of the cast and crew. The set design and costumes were spectacular. Thanks to the entire sailing team for providing our favorite activity on the catamarans! Also, Kyle at Reception was very, very helpful, and funny! A great time all around, and many new friends were made!

had a FAB time as a returning guest....

scuba - amazing. thank you to karl for a fabulous intro course and some really cool dives.

trapeze - best team i've seen from MANY club med adventures. approachable, friendly, encouraging, engaging and UNREAL in performance.
nick, kory, saya, katrina

massage on the beach - fabulous! except for the guy weed whacking 30 feet away...

reception - no eye contact. no smiling. no "hi, i acknowledge your existence as a paying guest and would be glad to assist". minimally helpful and extremely slow moving. except for eleanor, who was lovely.

rooms? ha, you already know....

bar - pretty good! especially michael and travis.

food - pretty bad! always looked like it had been sitting out for toooo long
thank goodness for mikey at sharkies as an alternative.

day time - why would everything be situated around the pool when world's most gorgeous beach is spitting distance away!?
makes no sense but bryce and jake made it suuuuper fun!

night time - techno techno techno and really crowded (even at 50% capacity) but hilarious shows and crazy crazy signs.

all that really matters?

THE BEACH THE BEACH THE BEACH THE BEACH THE BEACH
