“Good value, walk to everywhere”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

Our second trip to Provo and staying at Ports of Call. Check in and check out smooth, no issues, friendly staff. A 5 minute walk to the beach, beach loungers available, umbrellas for $8 per day. Breakfast included- yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee, cereal, toast, pastries, coffee, tea. Small fridge in rooms. Pool area a quiet and relaxing retreat- nice landscaping with palm trees all around. Rooms generous sized, nothing fancy, but clean, ditto for the bathrooms. The great benefits are the price- best you can find for Provo, and the location- walk to everywhere you want to go- beach, shops, restaurants, supermarket (Graceway Gourmet). Don't need to rent a car unless you want to see the rest of the island. Other guests during our stay included the GW rugby team, families with children, younger, middle aged and older couples. All seem to share the same value proposition- why pay tons of $ for your room when you all you do is sleep there and spend your entire day outside the room? If you need a concierge and pampering, don't stay here. But if you are independent minded and economical, it can't be beat. Bar by the pool, Tuesday evening Manager's cocktail party (free rum punch), Wednesday bingo, sitting by the bar in the evening as the owner plays his guitar and sings- works for us.

Room Tip: Consider asking for pool facing rooms with a balcony patio.

Thank you so much for the great review....it really sums up what we are all about here. Hope you having to sit and listen to my guitar playing and singing didn't dampen your trip.

Our family (2 adults, 3 kids, ages 11,9 and 9) stayed at Ports of Call for 7 days in mid-February. This was a trip we booked one month prior to arrival and since this was our first trip to Turks and Caios we didn't know what to expect. The island is perfect, the beaches are beautiful, food is terrific and the locals are friendly and happy to share their island with visitors.

This hotel is just as advertised ,great value, great location, friendly staff and clean. We don't want to overlook anyone but a few of the staff specifically Tristen,Charles,Daniel(the kids favorite)and Martin were very helpful and made our trip all that more enjoyable.Continental breakfast is nothing fancy but was a nice, perfect way to start the day with items such as cereal, croissants, danish, yogurt, toast, hard boiled eggs ,juice and coffee. Charles was always replenshing the food and would gladly get an item upon your request. Only. critique here would be to possibly switch up the toast for bagels, or english muffins for some variety

Rooms were clean and included a coffee maker, small closet, in-room safe, small fridge but a perfect size for storing items bought at the IGA grocery store just a five minute walk away. Our room had a pull out sofa along with the two beds. They could use a upgrade on the pillows since they were the smallest pillows that I have ever seen but that is minor. Bathrooms appear to have been recently refurbished however could have used a hook since ours was missing/destroyed. Pool area was clean and inlcuded a hot tub and newer lounge chairs. When we were there the pool was cleaned every morning with a very friendly gentlemen (unfortunately we didn't get his name) whom we would have a nice conversation with every day.

There is a nice small bar on site that closes down around 9ish which was fine for us. Great location as it is a five minute walk to the beach or Tristen or Daniel would be happy to drive you there in the "maserati" golf cart and numerous restaurants are in walking distance. Many nights we would walk on the beach to get to the restaurants.

Overall this is a great place to stay in T&C for the price and a great location. I know other people have made comments about the number of chairs available at the beach and I have seen the response regarding the limited space that Ports of Call has available which is understandable. They could upgrade some of the lounge chairs as a number of them were "broken" at the time we were there. I don't understand how some guests think they can go down to the beach at 7AM, throw their towels on four chairs then come back at 10 or 11AM and think that is ok. I don't get it, if you are gone for a period of time then you should give up your chair. I will say that we met a lot of nice people who would give up an extra chair if they had one. Especially if a member of their party was away for a bit and likewise we would do the same since our kids were in the water most of the time, they did not always need a chair. Not too sure if it is possible but if Ports of Call could add a small area around the pool where they could sell sandwiches or a grill to sell hot dogs, burgers etc.during the day that would be a great.

We cant wait to go back to T&C, we would like to try somewhere different but we would definitely have Ports of Call on our list of places to stay.

Your great review is very much appreciated. As stated in a earlier reply, it is great to see our popularity with families increasing. I appreciate your suggestion re the bagel or Englis muffins and will look into implementing. We also have some new beach lounges arriving on the boat this week. I know the staff here really appreciate it when a guest mentions their name in a review.
Hope you will have the opportunity to stay with us again.

Needed a decent place to spend the night, before ferrying to North Caicos the next day and P.O.C. met our needs. A short walk to the IGA Gourmet, several restaurants and the beach, P.O.C. is ideally located. Friendly staff, a clean room with comfortable beds and a decent room rate made P.O.C. a pretty good option for us. Also appreciated the free wireless internet and the continental breakfast that included hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal, juice and yogurt. Might not have wanted to spend an entire vacation at P.O.C. but "do-able" if you need a place for under $250 a night.

We came to the island for our anniversary. We were very happy with our stay here. Very well maintained rooms and very nice grounds. Very clean and well groomed resort. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good and a plus. The beach is only a short walk and just one block away with beach lounge chairs for this resort. We would definitely stay at this resort again and would recommend it to others. We met the owners and liked what they have done with the property.

It has been several years since we've been to the Ports of Call... in fact, it was the Comfort Suites the last time we were there. But both times we were impressed enough with the service, cleanliness, location and value to make yet another reservation, this time for our honeymoon! We're really looking forward to seeing the changes the new management has made, because honestly, we were pretty happy with everything already!
I am rating this hotel on what it is- a comfortable hotel in a convenient location, able to offer affordable rates in an extremely high-priced market.
We can't wait- arriving on the 24th and counting the days until then!

Room Tip: You'll probably want a room away from the stairs- people hauling their luggage up & down can...

This is a three star resort and if you are happy with this level of hospitality then you will most likely be happy with this establishment as I feel it is one of the better ones in this category. The rooms are minimal but very clean, the staff are pleasant to deal with, the pool area is lovely and the breakfast room is sufficient to meet one's needs.

My wife and infant child stayed at Ports of Call last week and we will definitely return. The resort was kid friendly and the staff accommodated us with getting a crib for our room. The room was nice, clean, and provided the amenities that we needed. The convenience of having a shuttle take you to the beach was very helpful especially when you have to carry so many things for the baby. The staff was friendly and offered suggestions for dining out. A production crew was doing some filming while we were there and they took footage of my wife and 8 month son splashing in the pool. I can't wait to see the final product when it is complete.

It is so nice to see more families stay with us. Prior to our purchase three years back the hotel mostly catered to divers and business travellers. Our plan with the renovations and expanded amenities was to make the resort apealing to all. I thank you for taking the time to write a review...it will definately help us.
