“Everything you need!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

We stayed at Ports of Call at the beginning of June 2014. The hotel has an excellent location in the tourist area of Providenciales and it is within walking distance of many shopping and dining locations. The resort provides all the necessities and more for a fraction of the price of other options. There is a nice pool, beautiful new pool and beach furniture, well manicured grounds, clean rooms, excellent service and a friendly boutique feeling because of the smaller size.
The beach location that is reserved for Ports of Call is a decent size and a short walk away. The beach loungers are very comfortable and umbrellas are available. The beach area is convenient for long beach walks and it's easy to find drinks at adjacent hotels. The towels that the hotel provides are nice and can be changed easily at the front desk or bar.
I would recommend Ports of Call to anyone who is visiting Providenciales and doesn't want to pay exorbitant prices for other hotels. You won't be disappointed unless you are the type of person that nitpicks everything.

A great option for staying in Provo. It is exactly as advertised. Clean, friendly and convenient to everything. In exchange for having to cross the road and walk 200m to the beach, it is about $1000 less for a week than similar oceanfront resorts. If staying in a garden view room, we would recommend the east building, which overlooks a quiet laneway. The west building garden view rooms overlook a street, which although relatively quiet, does have some traffic which you hear if you leave the windows open to sleep. Third floor room was breezy with the window open and the ceiling fan going, so we didnt need the air conditioner at night in early June. Smallish but clean and warm pool. Continental breakfast basic, but adequate to get going. Allows you to save some money to splurge for dinners. The excellent Caicos cafe and Via Veneto restaurants are next door. The Seven Stars with its two restaurants is across the road. The IGA supermarket is across the side street. Two ice cream shops are adjacent. Cars and scooters can be rented next door. Good jamaican blue mountain coffee in the room. Staff friendly. The resort has their own lounge chairs on the beach and their attendant will set up an umbrella for you for $8 a day. You can ride the golf cart to and from the beach, but walking was easy too. Really a great place to stay by the best beach we have ever seen.

After reading other reviews, the Ports of Call was as expected. A nice quiet place. Clean, great staff, comfortable beds and pillows. The room fridge was convenient as we kept our water and drinks cold. It has all the ammenities of a large resort. The only thing it lacked for us was more hooks to hang wet clothes and towels. The maid service was good. Usually late in the day. The breakfast was good. Included coffee, juices. water, tea. hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, cereals, toast, croissants fruit(changes daily)waffles, and all the condiments you needed. Pool was nice and warm. Hot tub also. The colored lights at night were neat. Grounds were nice and had a play area for kids. Smoking area also, Hammocks too. The bar was a nice size with most everything. Tables and chairs were all around . You could eat breakfast or sit and have cocktails, or lunch and late night snacks by the pool. Safe place and security patrolled. We took the golf cart across the street to the beach. We walked back. Not far at all. Lots of stores and restaurants nearby. I would definetly return. Thanks to Watson-great bartender. Ronica, Evelyn and Sharleen. All the staff were helpful and made you feel at home.

Room Tip: Balcony facing pool

On behalf of myself and all the staff at the resort we would like to thank you for your kind review.
I know the staff especially appreciate it when their individual efforts are noted.
In regards to your valid suggestion re some of the rooms requiring more clothes hooks... in the past few weeks we have installed extra hooks and a retractable clothes line in over half the bathrooms and I am told that the other half will be completed by the end of June. My apologies for any inconvenience this caused you during your stay.

Ports of Call is a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed being very near the dive shop and there are several nice restaurants within walking distance. While the actual hotel property is small, it is very well maintained and clean. Our room was cleaned quickly. I hope the planned upgrades to include dive gear lockers will be completed, as that would make it very attractive to dive groups. And, I enjoyed use of the computers in the lobby to print my boarding passes! The front desk was always responsive to our requests and greeted us warmly when we passed thru the lobby. I will happily stay here again.

This property is not a "resort," either in its amenities or its management. The continental breakfast is essentially a kitchen counter and table with paper plates and plastic knives, sliced bread, cereal, and sliced oranges. Very basic. The property itself is a motel, simply with contemporary furniture. In addition, it isn't managed like a resort, where creating a relaxing environment for guests is key. While I was there, one to two girls' soccer teams (approximately 50 teenage girls, according to the staff) turned the property into a raucous dormitory--yelling in hallways and congregating in the stairwells and yelling at passers by in the evenings. I asked the front desk staff to address this every evening since the girls' rooms were around my room. The staff seemed annoyed and referred the matter to security, which wasn't always successful at stopping this behavior. I would not stay there again.

Room Tip: If this place is housing large groups when you plan to stay there, choose a different hotel. The Se...

My apologies that you are not satisfied with your stay at our resort and feel the girls soccer teams are too noisy. They must have become boisterous in the last few days of their stay as I was on island myself staying at the resort for the first three days of their stay and I found them to be very respectful and courteous. Being one of the largest and most affordable resorts on the island we are a favorite choice for visiting sports teams. While this can present some issues to some guests, many of our guests have expressed pleasure in getting the opportunity to meet visitors from different countries.
To minimize guest interference and crowding in our common areas with this large group we made arrangements for their meals to be held off-property.
While I am off-island right now, I did check with the front desk as soon as I read your review and they tell me that they have received very few complaints concerning the girls above and beyond yours.
In regards to your comments re the rooms and facilities being basic I can only tell you that we have invested well over 3 million dollars over the past three years totally renovating all the rooms and the entire resort and as you will see from the other reviews the majority of our guests are very happy.
We do not promote ourselves as a high-end resort. We do believe we provide excellent value for the rates we charge which are well under a third of what most of the resorts on the island charge. We also feel that we provide good service as exemplified by the free room upgrade we provided you on check-in that normally would sell for $100. more per night than the room you originally booked. I again apologize for any noise that you had to endure but I would hope that with time and on reflection, you will look back and realize that with a pool, hot tub, gym, games area, our own staffed section on the beach, free breakfast and very modern and clean rooms that we do deliver offer great value.

What a lovely place to stay. Everything was comfortable and extremely clean. The pricing could not be beat and we had no complaints. It was not directly on the beach but a very short walk - their were always very nice comfy lounge chairs available for us on Grace Bay. I was traveling w/my girlfriend and we always felt completely safe. The location is fantastic - you can walk to Grace Gourmet and a number of restaurants and shops. The Maintenance staff was constantly working to keep everything tip top - I believe his name was Gene and he is a busy fellow. Robert at the front desk very charming and helpful. Donnelle and Winston at the bar always pleasent and helpful. It had a very friendly atmosphere - all the guest would chat together in the morning and afternoons to compare where to go where to eat - it felt nice. No worries about a stuffy resort - people were great - the pool was nice, setting in the evening very pleasent. I highly recommend it for anyone who has to watch their pennies they will not be disappointed.
If i had to state one short side - the breakfast selection seemed to a little boring but it was all good just the same each day. It filled me up and got me through to lunch though so cant beat that! All in all - an excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: go for the pool side - we had no trouble with noise issues and we were on the ground at the pool sid...
