“Comfortable villa 5 minute drive from Grace Bay”
Reviewed 19 April 2013

Economical & comfortable place to stay on this expensive island. Great for families & groups traveling together. Only a couple minute drive to the beach. If you are looking to be closer to the action, beach & restaurants, you may want to choose another hotel as this one is not right on Grace Bay. Also , if you want a nice beach chair, you will either have to bring your own or pay for a day pass to use one of the hotels chairs. This was a challenge for us, as there are not any public beaches with chairs to use at Grace Bay

After looking for a place take my son and his school friend bonefishing I was intrigued with some third hand reports about DIY (do it yourself) bonefishing in the Turks and Caicos. Web research proved somewhat useful but the deal was sealed when time after time the name Harbour Club Villas appeared in the stories. After reviewing their website I dashed off a few emails and upon receiving good information from Marta, settled on Harbour Club and a fishing package that included two days with belonger bonefish guide Darin Bain. I could not have made a better choice. The villas are centrally situated such they allow easy access to everything Provo has to offer yet are tucked away on Venetian Road hard between two large salt lakes (Flamingo and Turtle) and facing the ocean on the southern side of the property (the Marina part of Harbour Club Villas and Marina). As such, they create a private, relaxed and perfectly positioned base of operations for folks wishing to really explore a new place.
That they are owned and operated by two very gracious Canadians (my family roots are in Canada) is the special component to why we loved staying there. Marta and Barry greet you like family and treat you like honored guests - quick to help in any way but with a light touch and laid back style so evocative of Provo itself. They are consumate innkeepers and run a great operation that allows for privacy as well as sociability. They love their island home and they want to do whatever they can to help you come to love it as well. And when you love what you do, success is almost inevitable.
Travelers should know the villas are set in a garden format clustered around a small but inviting pool and looking down over Flamingo Lake. They are well laid out, large one bedroom apartments with L-shaped living areas, full (and well appointed kitchens), many fans to keep a light breeze flowing and a large bathroom. They are conspiculously clean and are amply supplied with clean linen and towels. For a group of three fishermen looking to mix and match homemade meals with dining out and exploration fishing along with guided days afloat there could be no better place to set up camp. It really was the perfect spot.
Harbour Club Villas was a lovely introduction to this wonderful destination and anybody looking for the personal touch to guide they visit owes it to themselves to take advantage of Marta and Barry's easy hospitality. And if you love to bonefish, make sure you talk to them about booking Captain Bain. The combination of your own (temporary) piece of Provo along with the chance to float some of the most pristine, beautiful and perfect flats ever experienced by this fisherman simply cannot be beat.

Harbour Club Villas is a perfect quiet getaway in Turks and Caicos. The villas are comfortable, peaceful and well equipped. Marta and Barry are wonderful hosts and very generous with their time and tips for a stay on the island. We visited in late Feb/early March and would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay at the Harbour Club Villas and Marina. The villas are great. Just the right size. We went with another couple and we had the place to ourselves. Pool area and BBQ area were fantastic. Pool is just the right size to cool off on a hot day. Marta & Barry's suggestions for restaurants were excellent. We did not ahve a bad meal.

We used to live in the Turks & Caicos and were looking forward to returning with our children.

We choose Harbour Club bc of trip advisor reviews and were so so happy there. It is a fantastic place and we highly recommend this place to anyone.

We travelled with our friends and we rented 2 cottages - one for their family and one for ours. The cottages are beautiful; very well laid out and thoughtful in design & function. The pictures do not do the cottages justice. They are very large and spacious. We travelled with our 4 children and the other family had 3 children. So, in our cottage we had 6 people and never felt crowded. The kitchens in the cottages were very well stocked and we did make use of the kitchens as well as the pool-side bbq & cabana.

Marta and Barry were amazing. Kind and good people who work very hard to ensure your stay is perfect. Marta ensured we had clean sheets and clean towels - as many as needed - and always took care to 'turn out' the room beautifully when we returned at the end of each day.

At the time, we were surprised to find that all cottages were full - we would never have guessed. The cottages are so secluded and private you will never realize there are other people there. When we were home we spent a lot of time by the pool and the lovely cabana beside. We cooked out there almost every night. The bbq and patio were always clean and ready to go. There is a secret, secluded nook off the pool with hammocks where you can lay and look up at the stars. Magical.

As others have mentioned, Marta and Barry have such knowledge of the islands and their secrets and are happy to share this upon request. Marta assisted us in booking a day trip on a sailboat and arranging a trip to North Caicos. These were 2 of the most memorable days of our trip; memories which would have not happened without their input and time.

You do need to rent a car which was great because we love to explore on our own. We definitely enjoyed this aspect of the vacation. Provo is not big and no beach is far.

You will deinitely enjoy your time in Provo and definitely if you choose to stay with Marta & Barry. We are already looking at a time when we can return.

Enjoy!!

Room Tip: as a family with 4 children, we had the cottage on one of the ends - but never saw another guest eve...

We loved our stay last June at Harbour Club Villas. The owners welcome you like family and make everything easy. Lots of great recommendatns for the area. The villa is spacious and clean, very comfortable. We love being able to cook for ourselves if we want to! The pool is really nice with a great shaded area, and a spot where you can swing in some hammocks. Very private and enjoyable, with lovely views. If you prefer to not stay in a touristy resprt, and instead want to have a quieter and more authentic experience, you will love it here, We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at Harbor Club. The people could not have been nicer. They were very helpful teaching us where the best beaches were (and how to find them) and providing other recommendations. I would definitely stay there again. What Harbor Club is offering is not the fanciest resort but a fun friendly and beautiful atmosphere with the most amazing people who really know the island and love sharing their enthusiasm for place with the guests.
