“Great place to stay on Grace Bay”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

My wife and I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in room 218 (walks right out to the beach) and highly recommend those rooms. It was small compared to all of the other high rise hotels and it is older. The staff were friendly and helpful. One recommendation is that some things could be better maintained and updated. Bay Bistro is located on site there - we enjoyed getting to-go ice cream and appetizers and ate them at the table right outside our room, thus avoiding requiring a reservation at the restaurant (which gets very busy).

Room Tip: The two rooms that have direct access to the beach are worth the nominal extra fee.

We used to live on Provo and return regularly to visit. We LOVE the Bay Bistro which is part of the Sibonne hotel but unfortunately we had an issue on this trip. After eating at the restaurant we headed down to the beach with our family (ages 8,9,14,15, 79 & 82 yrs old). One obnoxious hotel guest approached us and informed us there were no children allowed. Where? On the beach? Provo has public beaches which are open to everyone. I asked the hotel what was happening and they admitted that they do have 'child free' weeks at the hotel. No worries, but along with that advertising it should be made clear that children ARE welcome at the restaurant AND on the beach. Guests should not be surprised at seeing children on their 'child free weeks.' Something needs to be cleared up. I would estimate we spend about $2,000 over a span of 2 weeks at the Bay Bistro. This business has just walked down the road to the Flamingo bar.

We wanted to avoid the larger hotels that pepper Grace Bay and were very happy to find Sibonne. It is much smaller than the surrounding properties but is located right on the water, this combination makes the beach in front of Sibonne feel much less crowded compared to other stretches, especially to the left of Sibonne were the Beaches Hotel is located. Sibonne is about a 15 minute walk to town if you need to do any shopping and there are several other restaurants located just a short beach stroll from Sibonne. The restaurant located at Sibonne is very good and has an excellent, friendly and very helpful staff! There is no much to be desired with the pool located on-site, but with the wonderful beach and ocean just steps from the hotel, who needs a pool!

The room we stayed in had a safe, a/c, a comfy bed, and a nice patio that opened up to the garden. We stayed on the bottom floor which was very nice when it rained because unlike the top floor, we had cover over our heads to enjoy the rain from the patio.

Overall a great, friendly and reasonably priced hotel!

Room Tip: Bottom floor in case it rains. Then you can sit outside and watch the rain fall onto the garden area...

We stayed here for 8 days and it was great! The staff Is nice but not overly nice or anything but I think it has to do with the culture .
Please if any of the managers or owners are reading this I think they least they can do is get som en nice towels for their guests, I mean the towels are so run down its a little dissipating because it's such a small investment that just makes the experience better , we are in no means spoiled or anything but these beach towels are almost embarrassing

We stayed in Room 214. A view of the ocean and wonderful tropical plants below in the courtyard. We've stayed at the Somerset, Villa del Mar and Villa Renaissance(twice). While this doesn't have the pure luxury of the others, there is not ONE thing wrong with this property. The hotel is pleasantly small, like a boutique hotel, the ceiling was vaulted and airy, balcony room was ample, and the small refrigerator was fine for keeping some of our groceries. We stayed here with our 14 year old son, who slept on a roll away cot. Our king size bed was very comfortable. This is the closest hotel to the beach, and just a perfect stay.
Highly recommended-

Room Tip: Stay in a room on the second floor.

Sibonne was exactly what we were looking for in a quick beach getaway. The hotel is basic but very clean and the rooms have A/C, safes, fridges, and balconies with views of beautiful grace bay. Housekeeping also came relatively early every day which was nice so we were not bothered later in the afternoon. There was a small pool but it was not used since the beach was literally steps away. There was plenty of close parking if you chose to rent a car and the front desk was very helpful in calling a taxi. The beach was beautiful and while I agree with others that the chairs and towels may have seen better days, it was nice to not have to worry about getting a chair or even a palapa due to crowds.

The restaurant was also convenient, serving all meals in the closest setting to the beach of anyplace we found on Grace Bay.

As others have stated, this is not a luxury hotel. It is more of a basic Caribbean Inn surrounded by large, luxury resorts. The only negative (though small) was that is was about a 20 minute dark walk at night into the main restaurant/bar area. However, you are only about a 5 minute walk on the beach to other resorts and restaurants. Overall, it's a great choice for an economical vacation on a beautiful beach.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor have nice views over Grace Bay Beach from the balcony.

My husband and I spent our anniversary this past week at the Sibonne Beach Hotel and we had a great time. The accommodations are basic but clean. It really does have the best view on Grace Bay beach. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, unlike aome of the previous reviews. This hotel does seem to attract an older crowd. At 23 and 31, we were the youngest people staying at the Sibonne. Most of the couples were in their 60s, so it ia not a place to go if you want to party all night. The rooms have a mini fridge and the nearest grocery store is about a mile, an easy 15 minute walk. They provide beach towels, lounge chairs, and umbrellas- all of which we found basic but satisfactory. Just don't eat at the restaurant on the property, walk down the beach and their are plenty of other choices. We would definitely stay at the Sibonne again!
