“Fabulous 10 days!!!”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

This was our 1st trip to the Alexandra, and it won't be our last! We stayed 9 nights in an oceanview studio. Even though it was small, we found it very adequate for the time we were there. We overlooked the pool area, which is a very pretty sight and had a view of the ocean as well! We were able to prepare breakfast daily and several lunches with no problem. The place was immaculate & nicely furnished. Even though we rented privately through George & Candi Arthur on VRBO,( with no difficulty at all!) , the hotel staff was still very helpful. We had a small glitch with our wireless that was resolved very quickly... thanks to Andrew, their IT person! The beach is really beautiful there.....powder white sand and crystal clear turquoise water! Never to crowded. Having the Mango Reef Restaurant right there is a huge bonus! We had 3 great meals there. Several very good restaurants are a safe 10 - 15 min. walk along the beach! All things considered....ie...the high prices of most other hotels along beautiful Grace Bay, I can't imagine staying anywhere except unit 4206 in the Marilyn Bldg!!

We just came back form Turks and Caicos and we love it.
We stayed at the Alexandra and we really had a great time there. We rented a little studio/condo with a kitchenette that was very well stocked. The studio/condo was clean, very nice furnished and the towels and sheets were very good quality. It was perfect for two people. We had breakfast in our room, sitting at the balcony enjoying the view every morning.
Alexandra is not very luxurious, but it is very well kept and the beach is beautiful. They provide you with beach towels, umbrellas, etc.
The hotel is also very well located, close to shops, restaurants and a snorkeling spot. It was mostly adults, so our stayed was very peaceful.
We rented a car and thought it was a very good idea. We could go to the super market and shop for groceries, explore the island and go to the snorkeling places. Keep in mind that taxis can get expensive.
Alexandra was a very good choice, for the price, we got a good hotel that was very well located.

Our room was over the top with gorgeous furniture, linens and amenities. A full dining room inside and on the verandah. Great food at the bar and restaurant - extremely friendly staff with great knowledge of the island. Definitely a "return" for me!

Me, my wife, and 16 yr old daughter and 14 yr old son booked a week at the Alexandra resort through Interval International for the week of June 30-July7. This was our first time in Provo and will not be our last! The beaches and ocean are incredibly beautiful, the third largest barrier reef in the world. The Alexandra is a quiet, very clean resort. Not exactly 5 star, but our room was nice and updated with a separate bedroom, kitchenette, and fabulous ocean view. We requested a roll away bed for my son but it was not very comfortable, the sofa bed wasn't much better. The bed in the bedroom wasn't bad though. The AC in the rooms worked great! The Mango Reef restaurant was very good, but like everywhere else on the island, very expensive ($12 for a hamburger). Even the IGA supermarket was pretty expensive (the $43 for a case of the local beer "Turk's Head" comes to mind and imports like Budweiser were even higher). Gas was $6/gallon on the island. Cab fare from the airport to the resort (about a 10 min ride) was $11/person so we rented a mini van and shared it with 3 others in our party. The staff was very pleasant and courteous. The concierge Al Pinder gave an orientation and a manager's rum punch party on separate nights. We missed the manager's party, but I was pleased that there was no attempt to subject us to a timeshare sales pitch. The Shark's Bite restaurant and the Upstairs restaurants elsewhere on the island were relatively moderate in price. We also went to Hemingway's which had good food but was just as pricey as the Mango Reef. One would think that seafood on the island would be readily available and less expensive but that was not the case. So come prepared to pay double or triple the price for a similar meal at home but the exquisite location I guess made up for it.

We stayed at the Alexandra for a week in early June. My wife, Goddaughter and I stayed in the Marilyn building which overlooked the pool and had a partial oceanview. Our room was a one bdrm with fridge, stove, micro and 1 1/2 bathrooms. It also had a comfortable pull-out couch for the kid.
The staff was absolutely wonderful. The girls at check-in were very courteous and prompt in getting our room and a rum punch to start the week. I can't say enough about Miss Anette and her wonderful staff. 1st, Big Al, the ambassador for the Alexandra, will provide all information, service and reservations that you will need. We also enjoyed Joe, as he brought a Canadian/Italian flair to getting information to all of the guests about the island.
The Mango Reef is, IMO, the best value for dinner on the entire island. (price, menu, service, and view) Everyday we were treated with a smile. We especially liked Anderson, Davidson and Yohanna at the bar, along with Reginald and Janet as our great waitstaff.
We also enjoyed the help of Amos, who had our beach umbrellas and chairs waiting for us every morning. I also told Modestine how great a job he did in keeping the grounds beautiful. The next day he saw me, knocked down a coconut, shredded and opened it with a machete. I enjoyed coconut water to start my day.
The staff, restaurant, pool, and grounds were all very nice, and provided us with pleasure for the whole week.
Next year we want to stay two weeks.

Some background on us. This was our first stay at the Alexandra, and our 10th trip to Providenciales. We are a couple in our late 40's (me)/early 50's (him).

We arrived at the Alexandra on June 15th and stayed for nine nights in the Chelsea Building. Our first and last nights were spent in unit 1201 - a studio unit, and seven nights were spent in our timeshare, unit 1204 - a one bedroom/one bathroom unit.

Check in was a breeze with smiling, happy faces at reception, and the new reception area is gorgeous.

We were pleasantly surprised at how large the studio units are in the Chelsea building - definitely large enough for two people to stay in comfortably for one week, and much larger than the studios we've seen in two of the other buildings.

Our timeshare unit - this was our first stay in our unit as we just purchased it in February - site unseen - but we were very familiar with the property so we were comfortable doing so. We were not disappointed in the least. I say that the Alexandra is a great home away from home because the units have absolutely everything you need to be comfortable in, just like home. The kitchens are fully stocked with utensils, plates, cookware if you feel like cooking. Which we did - we ate in most breakfasts - and enjoyed the oceanfront view from our patio dining table and chairs. The kitchen appliances are stainless, counters in the kitchen and bathroom are granite, and the units are decorated very nicely. One large flat screened TV in the living area; one smaller one in the bedroom. The bathroom is large with double sinks, and lots of storage space.

The on-site restaurant - Mango Reef - never disappoints. I believe we ate lunch there about five times, and we enjoyed our dinner on our last night there as well, and everything was cooked to order perfectly. My favorite salad was the thai tuna salad - so good! Burgers are great, jerk chicken tacos are great, and service is always with a smile.

The beach at the Alexandra is quite large and accommodates all guests nicely. If you arrive at the beach after all of the chairs and umbrellas are taken, no worries because the beach staff will set more up for you. Towels are abundant, and it's nice to have beach service from Mango Reef if you feel like having a drink beach side. They have paddle boards, kayaks, and lots of floaties for guests to use at the beach. And one thing I loved at the beach was the water cooler to refill my water bottle - saves going back and forth to the condo for refills.

The pool is very pretty but we go to Providenciales for the beach so no time was spent there. There is a swim up bar which we saw people enjoying.

Other restaurants we ate at this trip were: Bay Bistro, da Conch Shack, Baci x2, had Mother's Pizza delivered one night, Caicos Cafe, the Patty Place for a quick lunch, Thai Orchid.

Back to the front desk staff. I have to say that these girls are on top of their game. We had to switch condos three times in a nine day period, and they didn't miss a beat. We were in our new condos by noon time each time. That's great customer service and we'll see you again in June, 2013!

Any questions regarding the Alexandra, feel free to PM me.

Love this place! Will have a hard time going elsewhere on future beach trips as this is by far the most beautiful beach for swimming and relaxing. Couple that with truly friendly and helpful staff ( apart from the front desk and GM manager), oceanfront rooms with large balconies, and a good restaurant; it s almost pure perfection. On the down side, the beds are super soft with no support making for some sore backs. The gym is in a small corner first floor unit back with few windows and equipment jammed into every possible space but you can get your work out and they keep the A/C up high. I didn t see signs of a real spa, just a door next to gym with sign. Spa next door at regent supposedly amazing. The resort offers a daily shuttle to grocery store which is very handy and recommended if w/o car. Agree with other reviews that Mango Reef, the on site restaurant on the best in area. Bay bistro was quite good as was somewhere down by coral garden. Dinners average $125-200 per couple so we tried the local spot behind resort Smokeys. It was $55 for two and not only served with a smile but quite tasty. Sadly, the atmosphere is depressing. As far as the beach goes, there were always available chairs with umbrellas, excellent beach staff, some water toys including two paddle boards. One being for children and the for adults. Wished they had more for adults as the solo adult board was very hard to get a hold off. No homie cats!! That was a real bummer as all the surrounding resorts seemed to have and we were very envious. We took the island vibe tour with Gino and Tino which we highly recommend. Such a great time, no one wanted to get off the boat at the end. Evenings are pretty quiet on grace bay so if you re looking for nightlife, this may not be your island but if you enjoy gorgeous pristine calm beaches with silky soft sand and great service, this is your place. Hope this was helpful? If so, pls click helpful vote.

Room Tip: Bay bistro, cocoa bistro, Island vibe tour, Smokeys for something local, shuttle for groceries, ocea...
