“Honeymoon delight”
Reviewed 27 February 2013

From the moment we arrived on this quiet, well taken care of, beautiful property we were taken care of and felt like they cared. You are taken outside on the deck to do the check in process and are handed rum punches and our bags were taken care of. We paid extra for the honeymoon package which included several perks (breakfast room service, couples massage, welcome treat, etc) and in our mind was completely worth it! We did get upgraded to the 1 bdr suite, ocean front which had a amazing view. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They get you chairs and set your towels out for you on the chairs and do whatever else they can to help, never once did I feel they wanted a tip, I always tip on the service, and the service was exceptional so it was no question to tip or not. The Mango Reef restaurant is on the property and the food/prices/service is again excellent. Al, our concerige "go to" guy was amazing, very helpful when it came to booking tours, asking any info about the island/places to eat, and he also made all our reservations for restaurants we chose! The location on Grace Bay beach was as perfect as the water and beach, centrally located and many places to eat by walking 10-15 min either way on the beach. All in all it was a memorable trip for our honeymoon, we felt like we never needed to lift a finger and the staff did everything they could to make us feel special, so a big THANK YOU to the Alenxandra Resort!!

Spacious 2 bedroom unit with full kitchen. Great beach, soft white sand & turquoise waters on Grace Bay.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Johanna Ernest (front desk) especially.
Go snorkeling with Caicos Dream Tours, it was a great adventure.

Room Tip: Ground level ocean front 2 bedroom, 3 baths and a full kitchen.

My and I just arrived back from 4 nights at the Alexandra on grace bay. Its not a true hotel, but more like managed condo rentals. So, no room service and the only place to eat is a very pricey restaurant on the resort......... which is really good for record.

The first room they tried to pawn off on us was about the size of our closet at home and had a full size bed. They tried to call it a queen, but it was clearly smaller. The bed alone was reason enough to change rooms. So, we changed rooms and got a legit king size bed. The room itself was spartan and the bed , though large enough, was uncomfortable. But, I guess you get what you pay for. It is not one of the finer resorts, but nice enough for a quick budget vacation.

The best part of the resort is the fact it sits on grace bay and has ample room and chairs to accomodate guests. Plenty of towels was plus. In fact, if the hotel had a decent outdoor lunch buffet, it would be perfect...............as long as you don't need a plush room.

My advice for this place is to shop for rentals at this place on vrbo before booking through expedia or velocity. You can get much better rates and see if your room accomodates your needs prior to arrival. We paid 300 a night. I just saw a nicer room in the next building for half that on vrbo.

Thank you for staying at the Alexandra Resort. We are disappointed to learn the resort did not meet your expectations.

Please know that Mango Reef, our on site restaurant, does offer daily room service from 7:30am until 10pm daily.

Like most luxury Caribbean destinations, beachfront dining venues in Turks & Caicos tend to have higher prices compared to mainland restaurants, but we are fortunate that Mango Reef offers generous size portions, excellent value and competitive prices compared to other island restaurants - all directly located on one of the top ranked beaches in the world. The view and the experience are free!

The Alexandra Resort is indeed a condotel, as are the majority of resorts in Providenciales. Our studios are a generous size. It is not clear which building you stayed in but for instance the studios in our Lady Rose building are 550 square feet. All of the beds in our studio suites are indeed "hotel queens" and feature feathertop mattresses and Egyptian linens.

Some of our condo owners do rent their units on independent rental web sites. As the management company for the resort, we encourage people to consider the pros and cons of renting through an absent private owner versus receiving service from the on-site manager, and receiving benefits such as daily housekeeping, invitation to manager's weekly cocktail party and other services provided exclusively by property management.

Even in High Season, there is plenty of room on this marvelous beach, The water is crystal clear with great shades of blue. No seaweed, and almost never any waves. The resort recently just changed owners and the entire resort looks great. Rooms are nicely appointed and the restaurant, Mango Grill, on property is outstanding. Two great bars, one right on the beach.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in a building right on the water, although all rooms have a balcony and you can se...

My wife and I spent 7 nights here, celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. It was a very busy week in February, I heard that east coast schools had the week off for their winter break, so lots of families. If you want the short version of my review then here it is: Great location, good food, very peaceful setting, excellent value compared to the other resorts in the area and all in all an excellent vacation...would definitely do it again in the future and would definitely stay here again as well.

Now the long version:

The staff started off extremely helpful and courteous, so it was great to welcomed so warmly. The resort is located centrally within Grace Bay and there are a lot of food options within a nice beach walking distance from the property.

The beach is only about 100 yards away from our door, it's very well kept and is picture perfect as it's surrounded by white fluffy sand and bright blue waters. We didn't spend any time at the pool, so can't comment on that but it looked super busy with mostly families...maybe next time.

The Mango Reef restaurant was excellent, I highly recommend any meal there. It's always nice to have a good resort restaurant at the place you're staying. We just got back from Cabo back in December and were reminded how important that is to have, since it was the total opposite there in Mexico...even at a 5 star resort.

My only dislikes were around the sleeping situation. The bed we got in our room was only a full, not used to that but it's my own fault for not checking before. So, moral of the story is don't assume that you're bed will be a queen (there is a huge difference between a queen & a full).

Next, we liked to sleep with our window open at night, instead of running the AC, but our room was right above the pool/courtyard area. The landscapers/maintenance crew would start working and making noise right at 6AM. By no fault of their own, these are all things that need to get done, I understand, but it would have been nice to be able to just focus on the ocean. If you're a heavy sleeper (like my wife is) then this will not bother you. But, if you're a light sleeper, like me, then sleep with the windows closed or ask for a different room.

Thank you for your recent visit to the Alexandra Resort. Congratulations on your first anniversary and please know we appreciate the fact you chose the Alexandra for such an important occasion. Our landscape crew typically does not work in the same area on the property each morning at 6am, but your feedback and satisfaction is important to us, and we will speak with maintenance to address scheduling and activities performed at that hour, as our top priority is for you to enjoy your vacation. We hope you will stay with us again in the future.
