We stayed in a two bedroom ocean front condo. Very large rooms, kitchen, and beautiful large porch. We stayed on the porch. This is a timeshare location, which we did not know, but we booked thought the resort. Never once we were contacted regarding a timeshare offer, we just saw a sign for individuals interested. Our condo was cleaned daily and staff checked to see if we needed anything in the evening. We felt everyone was very nice and tried to be helpful. We rented a car and explored the entire island. There are few road signs and we would often ask for directions from locals walking. Again everyone we encountered was very nice. After all of our exploring and walking, I would definitely stay at the Alexandra again. Their location on Grace Bay is perfect in our opinion. Very nice, upscale resort, but not too fancy. You can walk anywhere in your beach clothes and that is what we like. The onsite restaurant, which is oceanfront, was wonderful. We had several lunches and two dinners there and would often end our evening with drinks there. The last night we had a table on the beach, with the torches and it was wonderful. Again the waiters and waitresses went out of there way to be nice. It started to rain during dinner and they opened beach umbrellas so we could stay. The rain ended in about 15 minutes. During the day there were always a lot of umbrellas and chairs on the beach. We did not use the pool, as we were spell bound by the ocean. We went out on the day excursion boat that left right by the resort and had a fabulous day snorkeling and exploring. I asked the front desk if we needed a excursion to visit the other islands, and on the front staff's advice we took the ferry to North Caicos, rented a car, which they called and reserved for us, and explored North and Middle Caicos. This advice saved us several hundred dollars. Mudjin Habour. on Middle Caicos is a must see! I highly recommend this resort and this island. It is expensive as many of the islands are, but it is well worth it!! Other fun restaurants to consider, Da Conch Shack, Mr. Groupers, Somewhere Café and Yoshi's(sushi).

Room Tip: The ocean front rooms are worth it!

Thank you for your positive review. We appreciate receiving your kind feedback. The Alexandra Resort consists of four buildings, of which only one is a timeshare building. We offer the only timeshare program in Turks and Caicos, and at excellent prices. Despite that, we understand that timeshare is not for everyone and accordingly we let our resort guests know that timeshare is available for sale, but we do not proactively solicit guests to learn more about timeshare ownership opportunities. Great news that you had an opportunity to visit beautiful Middle Caicos and discover some great local restaurants. We hope you will stay with us again.

The Alexandra is a nice hotel. We stayed for one week and had an ocean front view. It was so worth it. We ate breakfast and dinner almost every day out on the terrace. What a fantastic view.

The weather was great with small rain showers every other day. You can see them off the beach sometimes. The sun is so hot. Easy to get burnt.

We started the week with orientation. The buffet breakfast included is a small tray of watermelon , a small tray of croissants, a small tray of chocolate pastries and coffee. Free, but not a buffet breakfast. Buffet snacks that disappeared in a few minutes.

They have a lot of stuff going on. Beach volleyball, pool volleyball, movie night, karaoke night, dance night. The one restaurant is nice and right on the beach. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served there.

I noticed Beaches has 10 times more beach space than Alexandra, maybe 20x, but it was so empty unless you count everyone gathered at the dock. That was packed. The Alexandra had just as many guests, but spread out. I liked that. However I'm not sure I would stay here again. Maybe try another hotel in search of friendly staff.

PRO - A quiet resort, plenty of beach and pool loungers, free pool stuff such as Koosh balls, rafts, baby floatations, kid friendly, soft white sand, free snorkel gear, free paddle boards, maid service morning and evening, easy to navigate, spacious ocean view rooms, big ceiling fans in all rooms. Also, the Mango Restaurant is he only restaurant as far as I saw that is ON the beach. And with torches in the evening, very romantic.

CON - Staff doesn't say hi or hello unless you initiate, quiet resort unless you're in the vicinity of the loud New Yorkers and/or Bostonians, there are No lifeguards in the pool area or ocean, no pool staff to take drink orders, tiny little ants in the kitchen area, public access to the beach on the left side of the hotel, so right in front of the Alexandera Hotel someone, everyday, blows up a giant water trampoline with an engine, so if your in the beach front villa you get to listen to that for 45 minutes every morning. The drinks you order at the beach bar are different from the pool bar. Ordered the same drink twice. Beach bar was put into a blender and served. Pool bar was put over ice and served. What's up with that? No mini mart, store, post cards, or anything of that sort.

SUGGESTION to Staff - Al takes far too long with the morning orientation. It started at 9:45 AM and finished at 11:10 AM. Lots of jokes, stories, and impatient guests. Cut that down to 30 minutes and leave out all the unnecessary stuff. Hotel, staff should smile and be friendly. Not friendlier, just friendly. Only two people I found to be friendly every day. The evening cleaning lady and the laundry gentleman. Everyone else either ignored us walking by or looked grumpy. That effects the mood of the guests. Put in a small shop. I guarantee you will make money on items guests forgot to bring or buy.

SUGGESTION to guests - you have two options as far as I know for groceries if you don't have a car. IGA is the best bet. The hotel will drop you off and then you take a $10 taxi back to the hotel. We went to "the market" which is a 20 minute drive. IGA I think is only 5 or 10 minutes away. The Market is in Leeway Estates or something. It is part of a condo complex. A free ride there and back, but so limited with food options and the prices are $$$. Yes, $4.00 for one bottle of beer. Cheaper than at the bar, but expensive. We read a lot of people bring there own food which we did.

RANT - Like Aruba and Cayman, Turks & Caicos are populated by tourists mostly from NYC and Boston areas. The rudest by far was this trip. New Yorkers can be rude in NYC, but they are worse abroad. 1. "Give me four towels. I said four, not three." And for only one person? 2. In a Fran Dressher voice "Where are they from? NJ? Boston? New York wannabes." Maybe, but my guess is far from anything like you, old hag. Then she and her two friends jump in the ocean and take the tops or bottoms off and start cackling and swinging them over their head. They're all about 60 years old. Really? 3. "Where is my umbrella? Hey! Why did you take my umbrella? (To the beach staff) what the f#%&. What's the purpose of tipping $20?!" And there are so many unused umbrellas.

Room Tip: The ocean view is worth the extra money.

Thank you for staying at the Alexandra Resort and for sharing positive feedback about some aspects of your stay. However, we are disappointed to read you were not fully satisfied. We do wish to clarify a few items for the benefit of other readers. We advertise a continental and not a buffet breakfast for the free island/resort orientation session, and accordingly refreshments consist of typical continental breakfast fare - beverages, pastries and fruit. You are correct that we do not have lifeguards at the beach and pool area. To our knowledge, no resort on Provo offers this service. The $10 fee for the IGA shuttle covers round trip (not one way) transportation. The shuttle to MARKET is free and the grocery item prices there are very consistent with the IGA's prices. We very much regret that you did not receive friendly service from our staff and that you encountered ants in your unit. We will follow up on both items right away and appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. We will also consider your suggestion to reduce the orientation session length of time. We do not operate Mango Reef but we will certainly pass along your suggestions to offer a consistent drink service. Thank you for your thorough feedback.

We stayed at this wonderful resort for four nights in mid-May 2014 and it was a pleasure in every respect. The resort itself is attractive, well-maintained and well positioned along the sweep of Grace Bay. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that we had made an excellent choice of where to stay. Without exception, the staff at the front desk was helpful and accomodating from our arrival until the moment of our departure. They arranged for a rental car, cheerfully answered any and all of our questions while we were there and even let us stay several hours past the checkout time on our last day because our flight back to the U.S. wasn't until 4:20 p.m.

We ended up staying in room 2400 on the fourth floor of the "Lady Rose" building and it was very clean and wonderfully appointed. The kitchenette in our room featured granite countertops, a generously sized refrigerator, a large microwave oven, a blender and a toaster. Additionally, there were four of everything from plates (large and small) to silverware, cups, glassware (even wine glasses). The bathroom was refreshingly modern and clean, with a generous-sized tile shower and small window with blinds. The bed was very comfortable and spacious, the closet was plenty large for our needs with shelving, plenty of hangers and an ironing board (useful for getting the wrinkles out of clothing packed in a suitcase) and the balcony had a table and two comfy chairs with a perfect view of the sweep of Grace Bay with Blue Hills in the distance. To keep cool they have ceiling fans in both the bedroom and on the balcony as well as a ceiling positioned air conditioning vent. It was truly a pleasure to have coffee (Wolfgang Puck instant that comes with the coffeemaker) and fresh fruit (that we bought at the market in town) in the morning in that well-lit kitchen and then stroll over to the balcony with its stunning view of that gorgeous bay. A perfect start to memorable days of vacation...Our maid, Chantal was also very helpful and did a great job tidying up while we were away.

The food at the Mango Reef (the restaurant at the resort) was absolutely delicious - we had two breakfasts there and the omelettes and roasted potatoes were perfect. Our server, Maria, was fun to be around and she took good care of us. They also have a wooden deck adjacent to the beach with a great view of Grace Bay where one can drink or dine (or both) in the lap of luxury. You can even enjoy dinner at tables right ON the beach all the while taking in the unforgettable view of a tropical sunset. Pool/beach towels are available without the usual hassle of checking them out and there is a very good selection of water-related accessories from paddle boards to floataion mats to nerf footballs. We didn't use the pool, but it was nicely laid out with several strategically positioned palm trees for some shade. There are foot showers on both paths to the beach and a pair of outdoor rinse-off showers adjacent to the pool and restrooms. This place is very well laid out and it has many nice amenities.

From the staff at the front desk to the servers at the restaurant to the groundskeepers to the people who clean the rooms, people were helpful, polite and nice to be around. I would highly recommend this top-notch hotel to any of my friends or family who are considering a visit to Providenciales - it was a great value in comparison to the place next door that begins with a 'B" and truly relaxing in so many respects. Thank you, Alexandra Resort for a very memorable and enjoyable stay during our visit to Turks & Caicos.

We just got back from TCI and realized we made a excellent choice picking the Alexandra over the other way over-priced resorts. If you rent a car, which I highly recommend doing, they are all pretty closed to each other, i.e. right on the beach so their is no reason to pay double the amount to stay somewhere else. How much time do you really spend indoors anyway? The restaurant is decent but not the best, but a great spot for lunch or even a relaxed dinner after being in the sun all day. Overall really happy staying here and I think you will be too!

We visited The Alex in May of this year. It would be a sin if you came to T&C and did not do Caicos Dream Tours, it is absolutely awesome. The Alex is in a fantastic spot on Grace Bay. It is only about a 1.6 mile bike ride to the Salt Mills shopping center and the Graceway food store.

My wife and I consider ourselves "beach snobs" LOL ...and are always searching for the next best beach. We have been to Maui, Aruba, Mexico, Nassau, Great Exuma and every inch of the Florida beaches and must say that Grace Bay is the most beautiful beach/water combo we have come across.

This was our second visit to T&C this year and have just booked a return trip in August...our friends think we are nuts (kinda agree). The Mango Reef is an awesome restaurant and you have to have the Conch Salad. This property is a great value when you consider its location.

The Bay Bistro is the restaurant at Sibonne which is a few properties down. Make sure you stop in and have one of Jr.s' Rum Punch. We also took a cab to Coco Bistro for dinner one night, definitely a must eat.

Hands down the best beach we have ever been to.

This is our second stay at the alexandra resort. One of the best things about the resort are the employees, especially Tasha , Big Al, and Darren all in the front office. They are all outstanding and instantly make you feel welcome. They go way beyond what is required to ensure your comfort.
Other exceptional employees were momestine, in landscaping, who actually took the time to cut open a fresh coconut from one of the trees for our son and daughter and gave it to them, Raymond at the beach is also a pleasure to see every day.
We arrived at 11 am from jfk and to our surprise our room was ready and waiting, we had a two bedroom in the prima Donna building on the 5th floor which provided a very nice ocean view.
We unpacked, and made our way to the iga to get some groceries.
Would highly recommend renting a car if you visit Provo, you certainly can make due without one, because so many good restaurants are within walking distance, however, you will miss too many other great ones without a car.
As for walking distance restaurants, bay bistro, Hemingways, graces cottage, somewhere, mr grouper and obviously mango reef on site.
The unit has a full kitchen , stocked, washer dryer, large living room, two bedrooms, two and half baths and a huge balcony with lounges, dining table and chairs.
The resort is condo style but has allot of amenities, on site restaurant in mango reef, water sports, beach lounges, towels, attendants, water, great pool, swim up bar, tennis courts, fitness room, etc. it is located on a very nice stretch of grace bay beach between beaches and the regent palms resorts. Neither one creates any kind of problem.
Being very familiar with Provo and having been to almost every resort, I truly feel the alexandra is very difficult to beat if you consider everything. Dollar for dollar, I think it is one of the best choices you can make if you visit providenciales.
Would highly recommend

This place was fabulous! Went on a "girls trip" with 2 friends. Got to the hotel at 11:00 (check-in was 4:00). Was greeted with delicious rum punch. Just wanted to leave bags & go to the beach. Was advised that they overbooked the 2 bedroom suites and was upgraded to the 4 bedroom penthouse. Only waited 15 minutes & got into the suite. Gorgeous views, huge kitchen. Staff was so accommodating, Tanya at front desk, Darryl who brought our bags up. Food was excellent at the restaurant. Shuttles to grocery store & convenience store. Next to Beaches, great location. Definitely returning. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!
