“A small slice of Paradise”
Reviewed 12 July 2009

Turks and Caicos club is a wonderful place to stay, and an excellent value compared to many resorts in T&C. It is a small intimate resort with a very cozy feel. Everyone who works there is extremely friendly and helpful, they will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. The resort and the rooms look exactly as pictured. The balconies are very large and spacious. It located on a quieter stretch on beach, so you don't have other resorts and lots of people right on top of you. In fact on many occasions you'll have the beach all to yourself. What is there to say about the beach, it's spectacular! The sand is soft, the water is blue, and you are a short walk away from an incredible reef for snorkeling.
I would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking to get away and have a relaxing tropical vacation.

From the moment we pulled up to the Turks and Caicos Club, my wife and I experienced the friendliest service we've ever had. Abdul greeted us with cool towels to battle the heat and a cold rum punch...two actually. He wouldn't let us take our bags to our room even though I tried since we were on vacation. We got to our room and found it as we expected..perfect. The bed was great, kitchen was great, patio with ocean view was great.

The beach is a short walk around the building and down a little boardwalk. The sand was like sugar and the water was amazing. My wife and I grabbed some snorkeling gear and swam down to the reef to check out the sea life. We saw clams, many kinds of fish (parrotfish, barracuda, queen triggerfish, etc...), sea turtles, little shrimp...it was awesome. Snorkeling equipment, ocean kayaks, hobie cat are all free for guests to use.

Mayra kept us with drink in hand (my wife recommends the "Paradise Found" while I generally went for the Turks Head Amber...or one of Mayra's Margaritas, which were always perfect).

Breakfast was included with the room...it wasn't a buffet of food that's been sitting around. We ordered off a menu...the French Toast was amazing, as were the omelettes.
Lunch at Simba was pretty simple...usually a sandwich or chicken fingers or fish and chips...the beach attendant would bring it all down to the sand for us. We were a little disappointed that Simba is no longer open for dinner, but there are so many amazing places to eat in Provo we never went hungry. Some dinner suggestions would be Bay Bistro at Sibonne, Coco Bistro and Bagatelle Bistro at Gansevoort...all had tremendous food.

It was definitely sad to say bye to the wonderful staff at Turks and Caicos Club. Everyone we met there was fantastic, including the owner, Rebecca, who actually went down to the beach when a local kicked a dog....got the SPCA to take the dog and evaluate it to make sure it was ok. Everyone was so friendly at T&C Club. I would stay there again without hesitation.

The previous review did a nice job. I agree with most of the points.

This is a quiet place. It was just perfect for my wife and I. Very romantic, and many times I felt like we had our own private beach.

Close to a great place to snorkel. The staff is great. Abul, Mayra, and the owner Rebecca. Rodger took us for a sail on a Hobie Cat. Everyone went out of their way.

Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The only negative would be no dinner available.

Overall it could not have been any nicer. Our own private paradise.

Turks and Caicos Club is a wonderful resort for the traveler who is looking for a quieter place to stay with great amenities. It sits on one of the most beautiful and uncrowded parts of Grace Bay Beach, yet is within walking distance (on the beach) to a wonderful snorkeling reef, a great casual restaurant/bar, and two other newer and larger resorts with great restaurants and beach bars. Frankly, though, we didn't really want to leave the resort much during the day except for our daily short walk down to the reef to snorkel or dive!

The most impressive part of this resort to me was the staff. From Rebecca, the owner, down to the housekeeping and beach staff, everyone was friendly and knew my husband and I and our kids by name by the end of the week. I truly felt they would do their best to fulfill any request we might have had. Mayra, the nice lady who runs the restaurant, was so nice and pleasant to visit with every day. Abdul and Hendricka who work in the front office actually asked us where they could make reservations for dinner each night rather than waiting for us to ask them to do this for us. We had one small maintenance issue and the maintenance person was there promptly and was very friendly and answered a lot of our questions as he is a native of the islands. The beach staff was equally nice and was very efficient at keeping the beach front equipped with loungers, umbrellas, and towels. They would also take guests out on the Hobie Cat whenever it was requested they do so.

Another thing that was very impressive to me was the cleanliness of the 2-bedroom unit we were in. (We reserved poolview but were upgraded to beachfront at check-in and were absolutely thrilled with this beautiful unit with an amazing view of Grace Bay!) It was spotless when we arrived and housekeeping was very unobtrusive but always seemed to show up while we were enjoying breakfast to tidy things up and leave fresh towels. They returned each evening while we were at dinner to refresh towels again and turn back the beds for us. The housekeeping staff even placed fresh flowers in a vase in the kitchen each morning. Small touches like this go a long way to making a visit perfect!

The units were very spacious and well-equipped. I would not call them luxurious, but they were very comfortable and well-maintained and were not dated at all. The West Indies style of decor fit very well with the surrounding island. The large balcony with an incredible view was the perfect place to curl up with a book in the late afternoons or early mornings. The kitchen was nice and provided everything you would need if you want to have a few meals in during your trip. The bathrooms were not large, but were plenty nice and extremely clean--VERY important in my book! The attention of housekeeping at replenishing towels twice a day was very appreciated. The Bulgari bath amenties provided were in generous sizes and were a very nice luxury touch.

The restaurant at Turks and Caicos Club is now run by the hotel, not an outside company, and it serves a complimentary, made-to-order breakfast each morning. The breakfast was wonderful; I'm missing the French Toast, already! You get your choice of 6 entrees--the french toast and a selection of eggs and omelets--and can add up to two
side items such as sausage, toast, cereal or yogurt to your meal and also are offered coffee or tea and juice. We sampled most everything on the menu over the week and never left disappointed or hungry. The restaurant re-opens for lunch each day and the poolside bar opens then also, and they serve until around 4:00 each afternoon. During the summer, they are not open for dinner, but this was never a problem as the rest of the island has wonderful restaurants to choose from the the staff is ready with suggestions to help you find a place that suits you and they will make your reservation and give you directions, if needed.

Turks and Caicos Club is perfect for those who enjoy quiet vacations, but I would not recommend it for the traveler who is looking for lots of action and activities. The resort was filled mostly with honeymooners or older couples; we were the only family staying there the week we were there. The main activities at this resort are enjoying the beautiful beach and water, sitting by the pool or on your large balcony reading, and walking the beach or snorkeling at the nearby reef. The resort does include water sports equipment at no charge if you do not bring your own. Our college-age daughter felt it was a little too quiet at first, but when we discovered the nearby casual restaurant/bar right by the reef, she was happier as she could walk there with us in the afternoons while others were snorkeling or diving and sit at the restaurant enjoying a drink or snack and having plenty of people to watch and talk to and fun music to listen to. Our high-school son loved the resort as his main focus on vacation is snorkeling every day and he did a dive course this trip and is now in love with diving.

All in all, I'd return to Turks and Caicos Club with no hesitation---it was a great week!

The Turks and Caicos Club offers a unique experience of being in a luxury accomodation without the chaos and crowing of many of the resorts on the island. The pristine beach outside the hotel is just steps from the room and very private. Rarely did we share the beach with anyone. The room to breath was so nice. The staff were friendly and helpful - gladly booked all of our side trips and made very good suggestions. The bathroom is so-so - would have preferred a step-in shower but no compliants about cleanliness and water pressure. Fresh towels were brought to us faster than we could use them (very nice). The kitchen is large and comfortable and very clean. We felt at home and well cared for. Washer and dryer in the room were great too! When we went down the road to the other big name resort hotel beaches crawling with people, we truly appreciated the unique, relaxing experience we were having at Turks and Caicos Club.

Turks & Caicos Club was just what we were hoping for for my wife and I and our two small kiddies (2 and 6 month). We found a deal on AA Vacations for the hotel that was 50% less than the hotel was quoting directly. The hotel is laid back, small, never crowded (never had to fight for a chaise), only a few other couples ever there, nice not luxury, friendly staff and the best location on Grace Bay in our opinion. (Loved that it was set back from the beach with nothing on either side). We didn’t like further down the beach where each resort is clumped right next to one another. Pool is small but more than adequate (though it needs a little more upkeep). Grounds are very lush and beautiful.

We had a 2 bed/2 bath ocean front suite that was very large, clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows were especially great. These units are only on the 3rd floor (with no elevator) and our covered decks were smaller than the other units. The bad side is that we didn’t get much if any sun on the decks but they were much less windy and safer (for the kiddies) than the other ones on the first and second floor. The units also had washer/dryers, stainless steel appliances, free wi-fi and free long distance 800# calling. Very friendly staff and good twice a day cleaning.

Restaurant on site, Simba, was just ok. Breakfasts (that are included) were good but the choice was VERY limited (eggs, cereal, fruit or French toast). Dinner and lunch there were not very good (raw chicken sandwich for lunch, not very tasty dinner). On-site owner mentioned that the lease is up at the end of May and she will be making some changes. Just down the beach is Somewhere on the Beach (at Coral Gardens), which has great tex-mex food and great beach/laid back location, directly on the sand.

If you want a relaxing vacation, then this is the hotel for you. However, you have to know what to expect when you stay here. The hotel is extremely private. When we first got there, we pretty much thought we owned the beach since we were the only ones out there (with the exception of some of the joggers going by). The beach is quiet, and the water has that turquoise look (just an FYI, but I think T&C Club had a better beach than the ones by Grace Bay Club and Seven Stars). The staff sets up just enough chairs and umbrellas for everyone who’s staying there. The White House reef is right next door which provides some great snorkeling. The entire staff is extremely friendly and the twice-daily maid service is really a nice benefit. The restaurant is actually pretty good (Simba was one of our favorite dinner places on the island) and complimentary breakfast is a time and money saver. The rooms are huge with a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a balcony overlooking the ocean. Plus there is free wi-fi and that’s key because I just hate when hotels nickel and dime you on something like that.

On the downside, there are some minor issues that make it not a 5-star hotel. There isn’t someone who will get you drinks when you’re sitting at the beach. The coffee is incredibly weak. Twice, the restaurant ran out of food supplies and had to limit their menu. If you look to the east, you’ve got a fairly depressing view of a half-finished condo that doesn’t look like it will get finished anytime soon.

But we believed those things were incredibly minor. We loved the hotel and it perfectly fit our need to get away from New York and experience a quiet and relaxing vacation. If we ever go back to Turks and Caicos, we’re checking the availability here first and we're definitely recommending it to all our friends.
