Celebrated 40th birthday at The Windsong in the Penthouse Suite. And it was amazing...very relazing. The staff - especially Latika and Elisha - WERE AMAZING! They made sure everything was perfect. Truly felt like VIPs. Had a meal catered in the room, should have done more of this as the roof set-up was to die for!!! The location right on Bight Reef was perfect as we were able to snorkel right off the beach.

Have been going to Turks for about 4 years, and the location and the room were the best so far. Looking forward to a return visit!!

Room Tip: the penthouse suites and villa are amazing!

My wife and I visited the Windsong for 5 nights and had a terrific time! After check-in with a cold towel and rum punch, we were welcomed by Jerry who took great care of us all week, ensuring everyone had an excellent time on the beach. The continental breakfasts overlooking the water and the service from Akeem and Royalton was superb all week. The rooms were clean and very well taken care of. The reef begins only a few feet from the shore of this resort and is great for snorkeling. While it's not very large, there was a lot of life on it. There is a trail for you to snorkel around as a large section of the reef is protected. The reef does extend beyond that trail however and there are other coral spots to explore. It's a must to go early in the day before guests of other resorts walk over to explore. The beach is beautiful with a quiet atmosphere and a terrific place to get away too!

A first impression is everything and the Windsong surely made a good one! We arrived to complimentary rum punch and cool, scented towels, and Mohen (the concierge) politely walked us over to show us where to park our car and brought us to our room. It was late afternoon but we quickly walked down to the beach. It was AMAZING. The most beautiful water, warm, and wonderful snorkeling. People from all the other resorts kept coming over to the area right in front of the Windsong for the best snorkeling but we had Jerry (The "Beach Nanny") to tell them they couldn't use our chairs. He made sure Windsong guests had everything they needed from water, chairs, drinks, and the water activities such as paddle boards and kayak. The beach was so relaxing... no loud music, only 1 or 2 people soliciting (spa, other water activities) all week. I could have stayed there all day and usually did!

As far as the rooms go: We did not have an "ocean view room" or balcony but there was still a small narrow window where we could see the beach which was nice because we paid for an inner room. Bed was comfortable and you get a mini fridge and microwave. I wish the fridge had a small freezer but we made do. The TV was very small and in an awkward spot to view from the bed so we ended up moving it. The TV service was lacking and many channels were frozen or just not coming through.... I was not on vacation for TV but do like to watch tv when I am going to bed so I found it a little frustrating. The cleaning staff did a good job except for one incident where they left our door open but we reported it to the front desk and it did not happen again. Note: there is a safe inside the room for valuables.

Food: breakfast is included at JoJo's cafe and you can choose 3 items from a list of cereal, pastries, bagel, toast, etc. There are other hot breakfast options for a charge. We ate at JoJo's for their Saturday "Jerk Night" when we arrived but found that there are so many other great options on the island for way less $$. But you CANNOT beat the view of JoJo's cafe if you get a seat overlooking the ocean so that was a great way to kick off our vacation.

Local dining options: the "fish fry" on Thursdays is a MUST... it is a local fair with vendors and amazing food options and you can walk to it along the beach. Mother's Pizza, Coco Bistro (is ranked #1 on the island but I was not that impressed and $$$.. but my husband enjoyed it and it is a neat atmosphere), Mr. Groupers was my absolute favorite meal of the entire trip and reasonably priced, Turks Kebab for great lunch gyros, "Somewhere" right next door for quick lunch, Thai Orchid was NOT good if you are looking for pad thai... there was not 1 drop of sauce it was just noodles and I had to put chile sauce on it just for some flavor, Caicos Bakery has AMAZING and AUTHENTIC french pastries, Green Bean Cafe for lunch was a delicious hamburger and cozy atmosphere.

Activities: This is more of a relaxed vacation and family/couples oriented. You're not going to find dance clubs or loud music blasting on the resort. There is one room where there is a lounge and large TV and board games but other than there isn't too much excitement or partying. This is what we were looking for and enjoyed the quiet time to ourselves.

Room Tip: If you want to spend the $$ for ocean view and think you will be in the room & will use the balc...

I had a fantastic time at this resort with my boyfriend. I met some awesome guests, staff, and was able to relax. The beach was absolutely beautiful!!! The housekeeping staff was always on point, front desk staff were very helpful. The rooms here are very spacious, modern, and furnished nicely. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Just came back from Turks and Caicos. First time. Windsong was perfect for us, traveling with husband and 2 kids ( 21 and 17). The junior suite ocean front was perfect, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and very modern. The view was fantastic. The service at the desk ,restaurant and beach was no less than excellent. We rented a car, learned to drive on the " wrong" side of the road...that was interesting. We did 3 days of diving with Dive Provo, they are very well organized. My son did kite board lessons kite provo on the superb Long Bay Beach...
We had a great time, we would certainly come back to the Windsong.
You need the ocean front suites....

Room Tip: Choose an ocean front suite.

Stayed here for a week in one of the fabulous penthouse units with roof top. Overall, an amazing stay with the Windsong, wouldn't hesitate to come back even if everything wasn't perfect or always at the level one would expect from "one of the top 25 Caribbean resorts."

Pros
- Rooms are truly fantastic. Large bedrooms and great kitchen, with ample space and balconies with a wonderful view. Staying in and cooking a dinner to eat on the balcony beats almost any restaurant experience on the island. The rooftop if you choose that option is stunning and great for the BBQ and hot tub, but no shade so you realistically can only use it at night. Even without a roof top the balconies with ocean view would be fantastic.
- Pool and beach are also top notch. Barely ever had a problem getting a seat, staff are generally quick to help with requests. Hotel is not only right on a stretch of beach that isn't too busy (much better than down the beach towards Beaches), but the reef is literally right next door. Pretty good snorkelling, cant ask for much more.
- Breakfast on the tables near the beach is a must. Such a great touch they put tables there, take advantage of it.
- Staff are generally very nice and while service can be slow, overall its never a major problem. Of all the staff though Royalton was head and shoulders above the rest - fantastic service every day from him.
- Free sailing and kayaking great touch too - use them!
- Location right next to Somewhere Bar. Fantastic, low key venue for dinner or just drinks literally a minute walk away. The Fish Fry on Thursday is not far away either just a stroll down the beach.
- Resort is overall very family friendly. There were quite a few families there and it makes sense.

Cons
- The Butler service is really not useful at all. Almost missed a chance to eat at Coco Bistro by relying on the butler service, there always seemed to be a problem getting a reservation, I was able to secure one in a couple of minutes by calling myself. Hotel would be better served having a traditional Concierge desk because in fairness to the staff much of the time the butler is showing new guests around.
- If you require a taxi, do not rely on the hotel. They refuse to use anyone except one guy and you have to adapt to his schedule rather than the other way around. When he dropped us off at the IGA supermarket one day he disappeared and didnt show up until 15 minutes after the agreed time. Taxi prices are already extortionate on Turks & Caicos (worst I've ever seen in the Caribbean by far), which makes it all worse. Call someone else yourself or use another service to get back to the resort when you leave.
- Jojo's cafe was generally fine for food and priced well comparatively to the rest of the island - not a culinary journey of course, but nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews here. However, when they close Jojo's at 10pm they use a very loud gate to close the bar that makes a lot of noise - worth keeping in mind if you have small kids as it might wake them up, as it did for us.
- TV reception is terrible throughout the resort, whether in the room, the bar, or the veranda. Obviously you don't go to the Caribbean to watch TV and normally I wouldn't turn the TV on but this was frustrating as I was there during the World Cup and had to leave the resort to watch games.

One last note - Turks and Caicos was one of my favorite Caribbean destinations, the people are generally super friendly and Grace Bay is as spectacular as advertised - I will be back. But to avoid a terrible last impression of the island, do not arrive early to the airport. Its hands down the worst airport I've ever been to and I've travelled through hundreds of airports in 60+ countries. There is virtually nowhere to sit, no air conditioning, services are basically non-existent except for a terrible cafe, and flights tend to leave around the same time so it gets crowded. Its especially terrible with kids. I know the renovation should address this issue, but compared to Bermuda, Barbados, or Aruba) its an embarrassing facility. Cut it as close as you can.

Room Tip: Get the roof top if you can, or at a minimum an ocean view room on a higher floor

We stayed for nine nights and enjoyed every day. The views from the resort were so amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room/condo was nicely furnished and well kept. The gourmet kitchen and luxury bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed that WS was not a mega-resort. Caribbean night is a must. Also, don't miss the Island Fish Fry on Thursday nights. We used the beach amenities including the Hobie cat. Unfortunately, no Jojo sightings. Poolside drinks were a bit expensive.
