My husband and I spent a relaxing week in the Turks at the Windsong Resort the 1st week on April. We were sad to leave and return to chilly Canada.
We had a beautiful room overlooking a postcard scene of miles of sandy beaches and the prettiest colored water that I had ever seen.
Our daily routine would start with a bike ride to the local IGA where we would
pick up our daily food and refreshments. Then it was back to the beach to
start our day of lounging and snorkeling. The water was warm and inviting,
with a good assortment of marine life to keep us entertained. The temperature was steady around 83 but there is always a little breeze to make it comfortable. Our rooms had modern temperature controls but we
liked to open the huge sliding windows and enjoy the breezes.
After soaking up the sun all day, we would go for a long beach walk and
then back to Windsong where we often enjoyed "Happy Hour" sunset
special at the "Somewhere" restaurant, which was a two minute walk up
the beach.
The Windsong resort had super comfortable beds with luxurious bedding and towels. The resort had a feeling of calmness and it was easy to get a
good nights sleep.
We returned from our trip feeling fit, relaxed and rejunvenated and are missing our daily salt water swims.

We spent a lovely week in Turks & Caicos at the end of March. We picked the Windsong because of the great rates (when compared to the other high end resorts on Provo) and because the reviews on tripadvisor were spectacular. I am, admittedly, a bit of a travel snob, but when I am on vacation and paying high prices, I have high expectations. Our room was actually very nice (we were lucky enough to have gotten upgraded), but we did miss some of the amenities of a high end resort. For example -- when we got to our room, the fridge still had a few items left over from prior guests, the shampoo bottles were not refilled daily, etc. Nothing major, but it was missing a few small touches. It would have been nice if the bathroom had a tub along with the shower, the bed seemed to lean to one side. Small things. That said, it had a high end kitchen, gorgeous views, and large bathroom with 2 sinks. We were disappointed that the restaurant was not open in time for our arrival. The breakfast the hotel pulled together was completely fine, but not special. Yoplait yogurt, boxes of cereal, stale-tasting pastries and bagels. The hotel's pool area is nice, but feels no where near as nice as the other resorts on the island -- the Somerset, the Regent Palm, the Regent Grand all feel really special. The pool here feels more like the pool you would find at a residential condo complex. The beach is gorgeous -- but it is definitely narrow in front of the hotel and there is a lot of traffic to go snorkeling. This didn't bother us, but just so everyone knows.

Importantly, the people at the Windsong are definitely top notch and they really do want to make your vacation great. They do go out of their ways to help and make sure you are satisfied and that is something we were very grateful for. As everyone else has noted, Charles is great. It is really nice to a driver at night and someone to bring you ice cold water and drinks on the beach. I wouldn't necessarily take his advice on which restaurants visit -- but his help making reservations on a moment's notice was great.

Bottom line -- if you are looking for the Ritz or Four Seasons or something along those lines, stick to the Somerset or Regent Palms -- if you are willing to make a few compromises and save some money, the Windsong is completely fine. Provo is a wonderful place to visit and we loved the island!
