“A Great Family Event”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2014

We had a great time and Paula was very accommodating. As part of a large family group, we enjoyed the space for visiting, preparing and having meals and having a beautiful uncrowded beach at our doorstep. It takes a bit of exploring to find out where to do some interesting snorkelling but that's much more accessible than at some of the trademark resorts up the beach where the beaches are crowded. There was lots of space for tennis, volleyball and a family soccer game. The air conditioning was very quiet - a point I won't normally think of but that wasn't the case at another nearby hotel we stayed at for a few days on the same trip.

We stayed at Aquamarine Beach Houses for 10 nights. Because of all the excellent reviews our expectations were very high, but they were definitely fullfilled. Perfect location, relaxing atmosphere, outstanding beach, great snorkelling and excellent service. It was a long journey all the way from Austria but it was the right decision. We had a wonderful beach vacation. Thank you Paula!

This was our second stay at Aquamarine Beach Houses and both were fantastic! Paula and John make sure we have everything needed (including John's fresh catch) and keep the property and units immaculate. Who could ask for more with a beautiful, wide, clean, and uncrowded beach just steps away plus everything needed to enjoy it (towels, chairs, cabana, snorkeling equipment, and much more). The reef in front of the property is one of the best for snorkeling and one of the best kept secrets. We can't wait to return next year.

Room Tip: You really need a car to dine at the many local restaurants although there are a couple within walki...

We recently travelled to Turks with a large crew (20 of us in total). Our group had couples, families, babies, toddlers, kids and singles. You would assume that if you’re in the hospitality business and have a resort that houses this many people that you’d be able to handle it. Paula could not. I get that we were a bit of a force with the chaos of the crew, but when we collectively as a group were spending thousands of dollars at her resort? She was a HUGE disappointment as was the resort. Besides the view and the beach (which is beautiful everywhere in Turks) the resort is very tired and in need of a makeover. The beach chairs were ripping from the wear and tear, we went 2 days without towels in our room, we had to constantly as for toilet paper (or borrow from the other side) and our feet were black every night from walking around in our house. She “upgraded” us due to her own error and then complained when we used the two back bedrooms for our luggage. Don’t tell us we are upgraded if we can’t use the space in our own house. So bizarre. She removed the wine glasses and cork screw out of one of our rooms to bring to another guest room. She complained when taxi’s would drop guests off and the loose gravel would spit up. For the money - Aquamarine is not worth the stay. 20 of us will not be returning there again. That being said - we stayed our final night at an amazing resort. You can find some great deals where the resorts are very well cared for and the owners have a much better attitude!

For those looking for an alternative to the large resorts and hotels in Grace Bay, Aquamarine is a great option. The location on the gorgeous beach is fabulous. The snorkeling was the best in the area. The grounds are well-kept, peaceful, quiet and pretty. We stayed in a one bedroom unit in the Sunset house. It is set back from the beach so no direct water views from the unit but the beach is only steps away.

Our unit was kept spotlessly clean by the nicest housekeepers ever. The unit is not flashy or fancy but very comfortable, quiet, and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. The mattresses and pillows were VERY comfortable and we slept like babies every night. AC unit adequately cooled the entire space. Shower was very spacious though the bathroom itself was modest in size. It was so nice to have all the miscellaneous items available that you might need for the beach. The only relatively minor complaint I have is that guests need to carry their own beach chairs and canopy/tent back and forth to the beach each day. We were fully capable of doing so but older or less fit guests may have a struggle. It would be really nice if the chairs and canopies were set up and taken down by staff each day.

There are several restaurants that you can walk to. For others, a pricy cab is needed ($14 one way usually). Although we purchased food at the nearby IGA and it was EXPENSIVE, we saved money by not having to eat out for breakfasts, lunches, and some dinners.

Paula is everything already written about and MORE. She knows how to make people feel like guests at her property. She is direct, helpful, available, and fun to chat with.

I do not hesitate to recommend Aquamarine for those searching for lodging in Provo.

Wow! What can I say that hasn't already been said. This place is fabulous - Paula and John care about their guests and are always on site to answer questions and help out if needed. We stayed in Sunset #2 and were very happy with our unit. I think I would be happy with any of the rooms. There is a pool onsite which is relaxing when you are tired of being in the ocean. The location on the beach cannot be beat. It is quiet and away from most of the crowds especially during the week. Snorkeling is great right in front and also to the left down the beach. There is also Coral Gardens for snorkeling to the right, so you are within walking distance of all the great snorkeling places from the beach. The fish fry is right next door which was nice to just walk over and not hassle with parking. There are plenty of chairs, cabanas, kayaks and swim/snorkeling equipment for everyone to use. What I really appreciated was the water cooler in our unit that we could fill our water bottles and take down to the beach, and for cold drinking water anytime. This was a very nice touch. I think it is the little touches that set this place apart including the cell phone with minutes to use for making reservations and just for having when out and about if anything should happen. The cleaning staff also did an outstanding job everyday. I am anxious to return and experience again this slice of paradise.

We visited Provo and stayed at Aquamarine Feb 8-15, 2014. We had a group of 12 and occupied a 5BD unit and a 1BD unit. I cannot wait to go back! The houses on the property are adorable; the grounds are well-kept; the pool always clean; the equipment advertised as available for guest use on the website was indeed available and clean (snorkeling gear, two-seat kayaks, etc). The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and house keeping was kind as could be. The owners go above and beyond to assist in making arrival/departure as easy as possible.

We happened to be there during a 24+ hour power loss on the island, and the owners were extremely accommodating in providing a cooler for our goods from the fridge (as we had bought many groceries for breakfasts/lunches), flashlights and batteries and updates as received from the power company. It is comforting to know, even in this sort of event, the management takes care of the situation and their guests as best as possible.

The beach in front of the property is calm and quiet and the snorkeling is great. The Thursday night Fish Fry is next door in the national park which makes for an easy walk to a fun dinner! We rented a catamaran for the group for half a day and the company was able to pick us up in front of the national park which was extremely convenient to just walk over rather than going to a marina. This stretch of the Bight area was absolutely wonderful and considering the location and the quality/value of Aquamarine, I hope to be back here soon!
