“Home away from home”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

We chose this hotel mainly due to the reviews, and we weren't disappointed. Here's the lowdown:

Location- can't beat it. The supermarket is right down the road, which is very convenient. The stretch of the beach is not crowded. Best of all, the hotel is walking distance to many good restaurants. Not far from the airport either- I think it was around 16 dollars a person to get to the hotel via taxi.

Beach- Not crowded and plenty of sand chairs with covers. The ones closest to the water were usually scooped up by the time we got downstairs (around 11ish), but we never had a problem getting a good seat. The water is clean and there is plenty of space to spread out so that you aren't on top of anyone. We only utilized the bar service once. No one ever bothered us, so I think if you want to get service you do need to attract some attention.

People- Most of the staff was really nice. The men were a little more stiff, especially some in the concierge (not Desmond). My husband and the other male friend we were traveling with felt this especially.Desmond helped with dinner reservations prior to our arrival, and we appreciated that. However, the women at breakfast were usually pleasant and any questions we had was easily answered. The guests were mainly couples, although we did see families with children. But do note that the place is not overrun with children. Personally, we didn't see why you would bring your young kids here given that there isn't a kid pool and it was extremely hot but to each their own...We have a young child who we did not take, and we were not bothered by kids during our 5 day stay. We did note that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and we were given a voucher for two glasses of wine at Seven.

Hotel- There are three buildings. We stayed in the one next to a vacant lot- we actually liked our located on the 3rd floor ocean view room because no one could really see into our room. We splurged a bit with the ocean front, and it was worth it. Our friends stayed in a garden view and the room was a bit disjointed- not sure if all the garden views are that way- but there was bedroom, the living room down the hall, etc. The ocean front was worth it for us. The bathroom was very big, and the kitchenette area was perfect given that we did buy some food. My husband used the fitness room- he found it fine and the grounds are immaculate. We especially liked that they offered water right off the beach, sand/ water toys, etc. We even got two bottles of water each night in our room- nice touch. Housekeeping came twice a day, but it wasn't intrusive. If you are spending your day inside, you are missing the point of Turks and Caicos.

Food- We did not eat dinner or lunch at Seven nor The Deck, so we can't comment on that. We did enjoy complimentary breakfast. Yes, the food is mainly the same everyday- hot and cold- but they do usually make one or two changes, like pancakes versus waffles, etc. We enjoyed it as the food was good. I especially liked that I got my own carafe of coffee; therefore, I did not have to flag down the waitress to get more coffee and it kept my coffee hot. Plus, they gave us a copy of some articles from the NY Times each day- I thought this was a nice touch. This "free" breakfast was definitely one of the better ones we've had, and we've traveled quite a bit.

On another note, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel grounds- that was really helpful for us as we could easily call home to check on our daughter.

Thus, this hotel ticked all the boxes for us.

My husband and I are currently on 3rd day of a 5 day stay at this resort. We have an ocean front junior suite which is gorgeous and well worth the upgrade on Cheap Caribbean . The room is huge with small kitchenette which even has a cool expresso machine; but the bathroom is really huge, soaking tub, walk-in shower , long double vanity and separate enclosure for toilet and bidet . This room rivals any we have stayed in- it rivals our room at the Nayara in Costa Rica with the view of the volcano being replaced with Grace Bay Beach.

I will say the cost of a margarita is a bit steep at $18 but it is the best tequila and everything has to be shipped from somewhere else.

We did take some other reviewers advice and pick up beer and lemonade at the local grocery store which is just a 5 minute walk.

My review will echo much of what has been said already. A very nice resort with extremely nice people working there.

From the moment you step foot on the property to the moment you leave, you're always treated as if you're welcome there and not just a guest.

Rooms are superb. We stayed in an ocean view junior suit. We were on the second floor, a little low, but had a nice view of the ocean and pool.

Seven- excellent food with excellent service.

The deck- good food and good drinks. After a few days, having lunch here did get boring and we ventured off property.

Free breakfast is fine... Wide variety of items, but after 7 days, gets boring.

Concierge guys are fabulous. Alden will take care of you and make your wishes happen.

The beach is amazing. Plenty of water activities included. We floated around the ocean for a week. Fabulous.

A quick shoutout to Island Vibe Tours as well. A must do tour!

Food is not inexpensive. Research the taxes and service charges and don't be surprised by your bill. Well worth the trip and we will be back!

Once again trip advisor comes thru! This hotel was a great choice for our pre baby getaway. Upon arriving, check in was quick. We were walked to our room and on the way given a tour of the property. We walked into our room and though "ok, this will do". Then we noticed the whole other half of the room. It was so spacious we wished we had more guests to make use of it. This resort is the perfect choice for a family that needs more space in their room. A full kitchen, 2 baths and tons of closet space. We also had a huge balcony with a nice view even though it wasn't water facing. I believe this was their standard garden view room. I would actually prefer facing away from the ocean here because the waterfront rooms face the bar and pool area which could be a bit louder than the garden facing rooms. The beach in Grace Bay where the resort is located is amazing. Calm water and great sand. Chairs and umbrellas with waiter service on the beach, what more do you need? Our server on the beach was a guy named Lela. He was fantastic! Great personality and remembered our names after our first order, and the remainder of our 5 day stay. He is a an employee they should make sure they keep. All in all exactly the vacation we were hoping for. Beach, good food and a few drinks for me!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was ideal and the service was great. I especially liked the spa! :) The restaurants had good food and the bar on the beach was perfect for relaxing and having cocktails after a day on the beach.

Recently stayed at Seven Stars for out 20th Anniversary. Blown away by the room and beach. Staff was tremendous. Friendly at every stop and yet they are unintrusive. Best stay we have had in some time. Island is easy to get to from the States and short cab ride from the airport. Will definitely come back again.
