“Where to stay, Beaches”
Reviewed 15 March 2008

3/1/08 - 3/8/08

Stayed on Providenciales (Provo). The Sunshine house villa on Cooper Jack Point was incredible. We took a very long time researching accomodations and couldn't have chosen a better place. If you're going .. forget Grace Bay beach. Altough it was beautiful, Malcom beach was far superior....at the end of malcom rd go left toward the resort. Watch out for the Spanish bayonettes they planted to keep you out. Once through, enjoy the white sand beach at their resort!! Fyi, Grace Bay area is one large construction site. Dinner at Coyaba was outstanding, even though its not on the beach and pricey, it was well worth it. I enclosed a pic of the sunset from our VERY private pool at Sunshine house

“my vacation experiences on providenciales, Turks & Caicos”
Reviewed 7 March 2008

I often write reviews on different sites as I enjoy reading honest experiences. I am yet to write a negative review, I do however hope this gets seen. I have been travelling the world for the past 9 years straight, including europe, africa, asia, the pacific, USA, middle east etc. We have been to turks & caicos 3 times in the last 3 years staying a minimum of 2 months each time. The resorts on provo are abundant & beautiful. The island however is not pretty or attractive. The diving is average, the fishing is great. On the whole the locals however are the most unfriendly from all the places I've been. There is no customer service, the food in restaurants is very average, but again a good percentage of dining experiences are less than average due to the careless attitudes of the service staff. I am hesitant to write such a negative review, but would appreciate the honesty from others, if I was to spend a lot of money when there are so many beautiful places to choose from! Disapointed traveller...

“Serene, Turquoise Paradise with Superb Scuba Diving”
Reviewed 26 February 2008

We honeymooned for a week at The Sands at Grace Bay and were treated to British politeness, long stretches of powdery white sand beaches, beautifully manicured grounds and relatively few tourists. Several pools, linked by winding shallow canals, are surrounded by tropical plants and coconut palms. One of Provo's best restaurants, Hemingway's, is on the property and overlooks Grace Bay. Two other restaurants we would highly recommend are Aqua and Magnolia Wine Restaurant - both overlooking the harbor.

We dove with Caicos Adventures who provided very professional guides and a fast 50' twin hulled boat. The diving off West Caicos was superb! We saw reef sharks, sea turtles and stingrays along with thousands of colorful fish! We would also recommend the Sail Provo trip to Iguana Island and an uninhabited cay aboard their 52' catamaran. (The only disappointment was the shelling which was very minimal.) A private, guided horseback ride surf on Grace Bay Beach with Caicos Corrals was exhilerating and fulfilled a lifelong dream.

It was a truly special, relaxing vacation - a wonderful spot to honeymoon!

“Awesome!!! Beautiful...”
Reviewed 19 December 2007

We just returned from one of the most beautiful places in the world.....we rented a villa through Caribbean Way. The house set on the ocean and had an infinity wall pool. Out experience was fabulous. We ate at several restaurants were not disappointed at any. The last night we ate at the Tiki Hut and it was fabulous. The island is pretty laid back - not very commercialized at all. They did have an IGA grocery store that was really pretty nice (small but nice). The prices were not outrageous. There is construction everywhere, so I am sure that within the next year or so the island will be seeing more tourists. Awesome place to go......

“RWI Stay in April”
Reviewed 1 May 2007

Spent five days in T&C at the Royal West Indies Resort. (end of April) The hotel itself is very nice. Rooms are very clean, nicely appointed, grounds are beautiful. Beach is gorgeous. Despite a lot of other reviews, we had no problem obtaining beach chairs. The water was pretty choppy during our trip, but we're from the Northeast and are used to it.

Service at RWI wasn't great. The manager at the front desk was very nice and informative, but she was always busy. The rest of the staff at the desk were aloof - not informative, wouldn't look you in the eye, no thank yous or anything. Very strange.

Mango Reef food was fine. Staff very friendly. Just be prepared to WAIT for your drinks, food, etc. It's slow. Very slow.

Food at Anacoana is very good. Lunched at The Grill at Grace Bay. Food was also good there. Our best meal was at Bella Luna restaurant (Italian). Fantastic. While still slow, the service was the best we'd had for our whole trip.

Also enjoyed spa services at the Grace Bay Club spa. Staff is very nice. Recommended.

Not much else on the island outside of the resort areas (for tourists), much like most Carribbean islands.
