After driving around for a while, we realized you enter through the Buccaneer hotel gates to get to Shoy. The beach itself had very few people (about 10) and was so secluded that a couple was in the water drinking liquor and having relations the whole time we were there...while their 3 year old son kept yelling "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" while she ignored him and kept at it....for an hour.

Aside from that, the water was warm and pretty, there were minimal bugs, and I would go back (but be sure to bring your own water and food; there is nothing there!

We popped in to Shoys last week for a brief visit. It's one of the most beautiful beaches out there, just a perfect curve of white sand and blue water. As people have mentioned, it's a bit of an odd drive to get over to the beach and there aren't any facilities there, but the walk down the pathway is a surreal little tunnel to what is almost always a deserted beach.

This beach is amazing. Few people but not much shade. Inside the reef, I have in the past seen barracuda, turtles and ray. Swimming out to the right beyond the sea grass, there an interesting shallow coral reef. If you cross the reef, the sea can be choppy, but there are loads of aquatic fauna to admire.

Drive through a really nice neighborhood. Nice little walk through the trees and then...there it is! Stick to the end closer to the path as there is seaweed on the opposite end. Fun watching the boats head out to Buck for the day with thier tours. Very quite spot.

Perfect for an easy day on the beach and nobody else around. Long beach to walk on (compared to most others). Next to Bucaneer resort.
