We literally stumbled upon Tutto Bene after an unsuccessful attempt to find a spontaneous dinner restaurant to catch our eye in Christiansted on a sleepy Sunday night. The visit started out rocky when we were greeted by a hostess / waitress that appeared to be exhausted and none-too-thrilled that she had another new table. She proceeded to inform us that the place would probably be clearing out soon (it was 8pm), so we felt a little pressured. Things took a positive turn from there. Although service started slow and never sped up, we decided to accept it as the "island pace" that we were just starting to get used to. We both ordered the flatbread pizzas and they were outstanding. The great finale was when the other waiter on duty (who had already checked in on us once, because he was aware of the slow pace) came over to our table, thanked us for our patience through the evening, and proceeded to pour us shots...on the house... and visited with us for a long time. Take it from a guy who's been in the restaurant / bar industry for a long time. The great food and that type of personal touch is what brings people, including us, back to your restaurant!!
