Stayed here for a wedding on a staycation, over priced, bad food. Room was dirty and very dated. Best thing about the place was the view. Bathroom was the nicest thing about the place. Much better options for the money.

I didn’t have a chance to stay at this hotel but I did have my sunset beach wedding there. It was a very pretty view. The grounds were very clean and the water was beautiful. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant afterwards which was nice because it sits right off the beach near the pool. The food was good. Everyone in our party enjoyed the dishes that they ordered. You also get a lot of food for the price you pay so it’s well worth it. The drinks from the bar were also good.

We have stayed here in the 80's, 90's, and lastly in 2010's, but it has really changed since then. Do the new owners have any hospitality experience at all? It doesn't seem so. The check-in experience was dismal. It consisted of "Hi. ID and last name please", then "Here is your key...Room #, second building". She did not welcome us to the hotel, explain anything about the hotel, restaurant hours, amenities, etc. No offer of help with luggage to our room. The rooms are very run down. The mini fridge was badly rusted all over. The walls were dingy, the porch floor very stained and did not appear to have been cleaned prior to us coming. Our room had two queen beds, and only one of them was made up. The pillows were awful. Only two pillows per bed and they must have been bought at Kmart about 10 years ago, they were so flat. One of the best things about our previous stays was the coffee cart that was set up in the breezeway of each building where guests could help themselves to coffee. There was always a friendly room attendant to greet you there in the morning. That is no longer offered. There is just the typical hotel coffee pods in the room with a sugar/creamer kit. Two people in the room, but only one creamer kit. These small things make a difference! We weren't there to watch TV, but did find that the picture quality was really bad when we turned it on.
Nobody on staff wears a uniform. Blue jeans and any old T-shirt seems to be the uniform. No name tags. There is definitely no customer service training happening here. The employees do not greet or acknowledge their guests and are busy with personal conversations right in front of guests. The bartender from Maine was an exception, and our breakfast server the next day was very friendly. The actual restaurant is in chaos with tables and chairs all over the place, and not very nice to look at. They seem to only be using the patio area. The hotel itself is really run down. Rust stains everywhere, wobbly tables, rotting gutters and eaves on the roofs. The one bright spot of the property is the pool which is still perfectly maintained and lovely. They have added some very nice platforms for lounge chairs around the pool. There is a very dangerous manzanilla tree overhanging part of the lounge area that really should be removed before someone has a bad reaction and ends up at the hospital.
We left feeling sad about a once beautiful property becoming so mediocre. We saw no sign of the new owners or a manager. I understand they are new and it appears they have a learning curve to climb. We understand things are not normal due to the hurricanes, but there are still some basic things that should be in place. I hope they start with their employee customer service and professionalism. If customer service is great, then guests can forgive a whole host of physical problems with any resort. Unfortunately that is not the case here.

Tried it one more time ...the new owners need to get a grip... server iwas very nice ....food was less than mediocre waited so long ...What a bummer live in Judiths fancy used to love coming here need to Figure it out ...maybe they should give the place a little ambiance restaurant is so sad to see .. So cold maybe they should at least try to put a flower on there not so inviting worn tables ... my husband got the pork chops for $23 it was like a piece of 1 assorted pork chop burnt ... One small piece ... Don’t waste your time.... I got plain Alfredo it was just OK So sad to see The music Was nice the ocean is beautiful what a shame .... Probably will never go back might stop there for a happy hour wine and that’s it Definitely not eating there ever again unless things change

Had Easter brunch with friends. Food was sub par. Lamb over cooked, ham was actually fresh ham (pork), not smoked or cured, chicken looked so bad I didn't taste. Fish was edible. The sides were passable but for the finale dessert-stale pound cake with Hershey's syrup does not constitute assorted desserts. And all for a mere $45.00. I am thankful we were with good friends & will chalk one up to not visiting again. The new owners need to step it up.
