Many many thanks to Mike and Bridgette who took us on a wonderful sunset cruise, snorkeling to Buck Island, and snorkling to Cramer Park. We will no doubt hang with Mike and his crew next year when we come back. Mike is very knowledgable and his crew is super friendly. We had a blast snorkeling and hanging on the boat. We totally recommend getting together with these folks. See you next year!

Mike and Bridget of the Jolly Roger are amazing. Our trip only had six people on it, but Mike still went out anyway. Buck Island could not have been more beautiful. White sand beaches and clear turquoise water. The snorkeling was fun and provided lots to look at. Bridget took the time to point out different things to us while we were in the water. The trip was spectacular and it will be one of my best memories from the island!

I've been on almost every one of the snorkel trips to Buck Island. This particular trip was a half day sail that left to dock at 11:00 a.m. That made it nice so we didn't have to get up so early in the morning! Captain Mike was great. The boat had about 20 people on it, so it wasn't overly crowded. Some of the other companies pack their boats and it's just not fun! Mike and his crew did a great job leading us around the underwater trail. We saw lots of fish and beautiful coral. We even saw a sea turtle. The only thing that I would have liked better was to snorkel first, then go to the beach to have lunch and lounge around. Instead, we did it in reverse. But overall a great time!

We did a snorkeling trip to Buck Island with the Jolly Roger and had a great trip! We were on a cruise on Celebrity Summit and stopped in Frederiksted for the day. After getting off the ship, we used the shuttle service to Christiansted, which takes about 30 minutes and costs $16 per person RT. While this sounded like a good value, it caused us some issues – on the way over, we had to wait almost 30 minutes while they tried to fill up the van (which was not disclosed when we bought the tickets) and then they told us the last pickup would be at 4pm right where we had been dropped off, and there would be a guy there to take our tickets.
Once we arrived at Christiansted, we were quick to get over to the dock because we had cut our 11am departure time pretty close with the delay in the shuttle van. We met Captain Mike and got our payment all squared away and off we went! It was a pretty full boat that day, but we had a good spot near the back and enjoyed our ride over to Buck Island. On the ride over, they handed out the snorkel gear and fins, and when we arrived at the beach we all got off the boat to test out our equipment and make sure everything fit correctly and had no leaks. We then had about 20 minutes to play in the water or walk up and down the beautiful beach before heading back onto the boat and around the east end of Buck Island to the reef.
The water was somewhat choppy, but the water clarity was good and we all hopped out of the boat and started our snorkel trail – it was very neat to look at all the fish and corals. After the trail, we got a little free time to swim around to some other areas (which was nice because it wasn’t as crowded) and then all got back on the boat to sail back. After we left the National Park, it was time for some rum punch and a little sail back to the harbor. What a great day.
The shuttle ride back was the next issue – we had been told 4pm, others on our boat were told 345pm for the last shuttle. At 335pm when we showed up, there was no guy, no taxis and no information. The taxi driver there wouldn’t take the vouchers, and we were all a little worried about how to get back. Finally, a shuttle came by, completely full, but the driver stopped and talked the taxi van into taking us back to Frederiksted for the vouchers and we arrived about 430pm. So my suggestion would be to take a taxi over, and make arrangements for them to pick you up afterwards, even though it’s more expensive. If you can find a group of people, then that cuts the cost down.
So Jolly Roger good, taxi/shuttle service bad.

We had a large group celebrating a milestone birthday in St. Croix. We were directed to the Jolly Roger for our snorkeling tour to Buck Island. Everyone in our group had an amazing time. The crew was patient with those who struggled to learn the art of snorkeling and gave those with experience a great tour. Captain Mike had a vast knowledge of the landmarks and his first mate Bridget was incredible! We also had Kevin and Janeel on board to help us with everything from drinks to equipment. The boat and the equipment were clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this tour, you won't regret your choice.
