Owner description: Estate Whim has long been known for its colonial-era Great House, slave quarters, and mill factory complex; but much more can be found on the museum’s twelve acres. Various museum exhibits include My Granny House, the Living Museum, and rotating exhibits in the North and South Exhibit Halls. Also located on the museum’s grounds is the Research Library & Archives, where visitors can conduct genealogical and historical research and purchase photographs from our unique photograph collection.

The Whim Plantation has wonderful candlelight concerts with a totally mixed bag of entertainers. Check the local Avis for their schedule. There are also antiques, etc. for sale.

Thank Mary B

Its an open air museum with a fine manor house showing how the rich planters lives in the days of slavery. The main house are quite well kept but the open air area shows clearly lack of money to keep the machinery in good order.

Well maintained house with some records of how a sugar plantation was run. Grounds are easy to get around on. Takes about an hour. Good for a cloudy day on St Croix.

This old plantation gives you a certain impression of how the sugar plantations were driven. main building open to the public, in addition to remnants of other installations. Parts of the area, e.g. the former slaves' quarter, are not open to the public.
