Take a wooden deck that barely rises above sea level, add a bar and grille and some reggae music (often recorded but sometimes live), and you've got yourself a little slice of heaven. You don't come here for the food, although it is tasty enough. You come here to unwind and feel the island vibe. Located at the base of the Point Pleasant Resort--a quaint hotel that seems to be stuck in another era--this island treasure is a bit hard to find but worth the exploration. You can occasionally see baby sea turtles and baby eagle rays from this deck side restaurant. This is far from fine dining, but if you come with relaxation and simplicity in mind, you will not be disappointed. Sometimes less really is more. This is a great place for lunch or drinks with friends. The service is always friendly. Worth the trip!

Ate here with some friends visiting friends. We came on a rather quiet night; and there were a very few people there other than ourselves and the staff. I was shocked on how up close to the water the restaurant was. We could literally step off the restaurant and get our pants wet.

The waiter was polite and quite informative and the food came quickly. I absolutely loved my cheese steak; one of the best I've had to be honest. My two companions both had salads with additional shrimp and they enjoyed it immensely as well. The only drawback was the drive through the resort to get to the restaurant. One of my friends got car sick very easily (especially not used to STT's winding roads) and the speedbumps everywhere made it even worse.

Good bar food, good music (check which nights) and the location is awesome once you get there. Parking can be a problem but worth the effort. Even the peel and eat shrimp are already peeled (or maybe we were lucky).

This restaurant was absolutely amazing. It is just a short walk from our room and it has all the "awesomeness" that you would expect from an island bar. The bartenders were on top of their game. Kevin was very resourceful when it came to making drinks that was outside his comfort range. Andy was a very friendly bartender. Every morning we went down for breakfast the staff remembered our names and our preferences. The owner of Jacks, Steve, was down at the bar almost everyday. He made sure the kitchen staff was prompt and correct with or food. He had a very friendly attitude and was sure.to.greet you and shake your hand. Don't go to St. Thomas without going to Jacks!

Jack's Bight (a nautical term) is the bar/restaurant at the Point Pleasant Resort not too far from the ferry dock. Nothing special, just decent bar food and drinks. A plus is that they now carry Rogue ales (from Oregon). I recommend the "Dead Man" Ale with the Blue Bight Burger. The onion rings were quite good as well.
