The trip leaves from Sapphire Marina and heads out to St. John's Honeymoon Beach. While sailing the crew, Tracy and Jeff did a great job. Tracy was offering drinks (mimosas, bloody marys, beer, soda, etc) then passed around breakfast bread. We sailed for about 1 hr 45 minutes before we anchored off the coast of Honeymoon Beach. The snorkeling here was ok at best. This stop was more for the beautiful beach. I suggest swimming up on the beach. We did this and Im not sure anyone else from the boat did. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Small but unspoiled.
After some more time in the water we headed back to the boat where Jeff greeted us with frozen rum punch. After everyone was back on board and had drinks in hand, the food came out on the table. Meatballs, pasta salad, green bean salad, lunch meat and bread, fruit, warm brownies topped with kiwi. It was a great filling lunch.
Next stop, Christmas Cove on greater St James Island. Its a deserted island but the snorkeling is amazing! Sting Rays, eagle rays, fish of all shapes, sizes and colors. I saw the biggest "puffer fish" ever. The coral is alive and in good shape. This was some great snorkeling.
On the way back to the Marina, Tracy served up "pain killers" that were great.
It was a long day, but worth it. Most of the sails you find are 1/2 day sails, only about 3 hours. We were on the water for about 6.5 hours. Plenty of time to snorkel and relax without rushing.
Great ship, great crew, great trip!
