“Closed”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

When we traveled in July, Fort Christian was receiving a makeover and was closed. The building itself is impressive. You should at least take a stroll (after the blue tent market on the right) and check out the building.

“Strange...”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

This was a strange place. We asked our taxi driver to drop us off there - he explained it opens for tours, etc. It was closed down & people were laying all around in front of it. So, basically, all you see is the outside of the building. Not sure why they act like it is an attraction when it's nothing but a run-down exterior of a building at this point. Don't waste your time unless you confirm it's reopened at some point.

“Beautiful but closed for repairs”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

We walked by and took pictures but the site was closed off for repairs. Still a beautiful location. Kind of hard to approach when there are homeless sleeping in front and we did not want to disturb them just to get a picture.

“Interesting walk-around”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

Very historic but is currently not open to the public. You should still walk around it. Very photogenic.

“A Tragic Situation”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Fort Christian could easily be the number one attraction in Charlotte Amalie. It is perfectly situated downtown and is steeped in history. Sadly, the structure has been neglected for some time and is slowly turning into rubble. The grounds are strewn with garbage and the surrounding park has also been neglected.
