Night kayaking was the best kayaking experience I've ever had! I had the best time!! The instructors, Dave, Jake, and Lauren were awesome, informative, and so funny!! I highly recommend it!! We saw string rays, sea turtles, and a lot of fish!

Great to hear! This is a fantastic way to see the ocean life without putting on a snorkel, getting into the water or even leaving the property. You can reserve this tour through the Adventure Center and meet your guides right at our dock. Also great is our daily resort Ferry to Charlotte Amalie.

We took our daughter and spouse and son and spouse and the three grand kids along for this wonderful and beautiful vacation from June 1 -6, 2014 to St. Thomas. We had read lots of negative reviews but we had none. From the moment we got there and checked in everything was wonderful. I had booked three separate rooms and we were right next to each other. We stayed in the Ocean Tower of the Fisherman's Reef on the 5th floor (Room 1548). Beautiful view of the ocean and pool. The cruise ships were always passing right in front of our balcony. Rooms were beautiful, clean and very cold. We had the all inclusive so we pretty much ate and drank what we wanted. I booked the St. John excursion through the Adventure desk for a tour of St. John and some snorkeling. We also got a taxi to visit Meagan's Bay and Coki Bay and shopping which was soooo beautiful. I also must recommend Tropic Tours for shuttle service from and to the airport.
All and all it was wonderful. We were all so very pleased.

Room Tip: Ocean Tower room 1548

The hotel had great views, the breakfast was nice. Included kayaks and snorkel gear. The restaurants on site didn't really offer anything unique and were kinda pricey. My wife dropped her sunglasses into a hard to reach area and when we talked to an employee Randolph, he helped us retrieve them.

Hotel was booked to maximum and extremely noisy. Very thin walls - neighbors had a party and management could not do anything about it. We're Marriott Platinum members and we almost left. The bar deck below, although beautiful, is way too noisy for the rooms. This property needs updating to let guests enjoy themselves and get a good nights sleep. Pool restaurant turned more people away than they served as they had to get the tables ready for dinner. Definitely not catering to guests desires. Had dinner at Coco Joe's on the beach - aweful service. Not sure staff really wanted to work. They kept going to the back and left all the guests waiting for service. It took over half an hour just to get drinks! Breakfast was very much get in line buffet style. We wanted to order off the menu and were encouraged just to go to the buffet. Aweful, aweful service.

This resort has so much potential with its beautiful location, yet the service and experience is very low. Will never recommend nor return here.

The hotel is set in a beautiful area with a lovely beach but the overall structure, style and amenities are not up to standard for a 4-star property.

Pros:
Comfortable bed
Nice bathroom
Amazing food, especially Havana Blue - excellent!
Great buffet breakfast
Secluded and quiet beach that is never crowded
Nice pool area with free cabanas, which was a plus

Cons:
The property is in need of some major renovation/repairs/upgrades - the standard is simply not up to par
Restaurants are expensive
Lots of stairs

I would suggest staying at the Ritz over this location, which is sad because it's actually a beautiful setting but the property needs to be updated.

Room Tip: High floor for the view

Thanks so much for highlighting the comfortable bed and bath, cuisine, Morning Star Beach and the infinity pools. The breakfast buffet at Aqua Terra is an excellent way to start the day with our omelet and waffle service! We are currently in the process of upgrading some of our outdoor areas to match the 2011 major renovations of the lobby, restaurants and most rooms at Frenchman’s Reef. Please keep an eye here on our TripAdvisor page for specials throughout the summer.

As a long time Marriott customer, I could not have been more disappointed in the facilities and service here. The 2 rooms we had in Morning Star (5 of us in all) were old and loud (due to the air conditioners). Room service took forever each day (one evening it took 2 1/2 hours). Service was so bad it prompted us to request from our travel agent a potential change in facilities. Unfortunately, we decided to stay on the property since we only had a total of 4 days to spend on the island and a full itinerary of off-site activities. With so many issues at the hotel, the manager gave us a $200 credit on the rooms. But, after settling the bill and getting the account credited I went back to our rooms to get our bags. When I returned, my daughter showed me the breakfast cereal box that room service had delivered while I was in the lobby….the single serving cereal had a hole bored through it and was completely empty except for the mice droppings left behind…they delivered a completely empty box of cereal with mice droppings in them…. Again, I immediately called the manager who sent housekeeping up to inspect and they too were in disbelief but made no effort to correct or even apologize. While we are in discussion with our travel agent on the situation in total (as we had to run for a plane and had no additional time to argue with or complain to the hotel management), I would never return to this property nor recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: If you go, don't stay in the Morning Star portion of the resort.

The Marriott is located on a nice beach and is close to Charlotte Amelie. They have 2 nice pools with bars close by. The restaurants on the property are a little overpriced. The rooms are
comfortable with the mini bar, flat screen tv, desk and sitting chair. We had a corner room with a city and ocean view where we enjoyed watching the sunsets.

There is no doubt our location is ideal, Morning Star Beach is delightful and our views amazing! Thank you for bringing attention to these points of interest. We actually have three pool areas on property. Up at Frenchman’s Reef we have our infinity pool and the adjacent pool bar pool. Also, there is a pool that is for guests of the Lazule Spa. The third pool is down at Morning Star Beach Resort and is only a few steps from the Caribbean. For anyone planning travel, please feel free to give our pre-arrival team a call if you would like to inquire further about our on-site amenities.
