We stayed just one night en route St. John. A bit funky, a bit rundown, limited service and amenities, 3rd world standard, but priced accordingly. The bad; The room we got, in a seperate small building next to the parking lot, was awfully small and rather dreary. No airflow and parking lot view. Basic construction, condition and everything in the room was of a low standard. But It was cheap so, once more, you get what you pay for. The place is a bit isolated if you are on foot. The good; Stunning harbor views, really great hosts, reasonably priced and very tasty food and drink. You could arrange all manner of great tours and trips with Ron, the owner. He can take you on a tour or fishing or to the beach or whatever. I would definitely return, but seek a better room. St Thomas gets mostly panned, and it sure isn't Saint John, but you could have a pretty fine time there for very small money if you don't need a lot of handholding and don't mind having to deal with a little grit and your expectations aren't too high.
