Our stay at The Green Iguana came at the end of a week spent between St. Thomas and St. John. My friends and I were looking to enjoy our last day/night in town in St. Thomas to get some shopping done and relax before heading home. We decided on The Green Iguana since it got great reviews and was close to everything.
My first interactions with Gwen and John were thru email. They were quick to respond and very accomodating. The number of travel companions changed a few times and we were lucky to be able to get a room when that happened.
The Inn sits on top of a hill overlooking downtown. The room (H4) was spacious, bright and clean. Gwen and John let us check in a little early and check out late since there was nobody staying in the room before or after us (sept - low season since it's peak hurricane season). They were very personable and friendly and gave us coupons for a local restaurant. It felt more like I was visiting family than staying at an Inn. It's an easy downhill walk (99 steps) to town, not so easy to come back though!
I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be close to everything and have more personalized service than a larger hotel.
Gwen and John - hope to visit again next year!
